  1. You can always generate the speed needed. To get better you need to trust the ski. Stick with the Goode.
  2. Athlean-x is an app for the i-phone it has great abd work outs and hits the core in just about every way. OB's version works also.
  3. Try a slow jog to get the blood moving and the muscles warmed up and stretch. Me personally I spent alot of time in the gym year around and that has helped my skiing in both with soreness and strength. Although there is no routine that can really mimic the pull of the boat. As we age we do need more protein so maybe add a protein supplement to your diet and what has help me with the soreness is glutamine. It is an amino acid that helps muscle repair. Asian massage parlor would be a great help especially happy endings.
  4. CP looked great yesterday on the AM ski. 41 was very smooth looked like 38.
  5. Masterline makes the own ropes. They the material and then spin the weave .All there rope is made in the USA, hand measured for over all length!!! You will not get a short rope. I have used other ropes and you will not find a better rope out there.
  6. Berkeley ski club is a great place to meet new people and get into skiing with out an intimidating environment. I have spent many days with Mateo at Berkeley skiing in the mornings and evenings. He has a great ski league going on in the summer if is a lot of fun. Good people good skiing.
  7. After reading the above many questions arises. Why is the bar set so low for show and barefoot skiing?? The stakes are much higher the 3 event. Is it because it is not in the public eye as much? If they were gong to go to a regular driver status for driving a show ski or barefoot tournament who would set the standard for a regular if the majority are trained drivers? But what really sucks is that we AWSA 3 event have to pay the price for there inexperience and multi million dollar mistakes.
  8. I have a 66.5 brand new A2 for sale. It has been rode once. I did not like it and now I need to get rid of it. Email me for theprice.
  9. This is an USA issue brought by the insurance companies. They should pay the bill. Not the competitors, drivers or judges. Most of which are competitors so they would still get stuck with a bill. As for promo boats getting stipend for events that is a thread for another day.
  10. jcamp what the about the the additional insurance I have to carry for my promo boat? I don't see competitor helping me out with that cost. Cant have a tournament with out a boat.
  11. JCAMP, Why should the competitors pay for the backrounds?????? The skiers are not asking for this . This is a mandate from the insurance companies so they can save money. If this is something that USA is enforcing than it should be there dime.
  12. Next year a Breathalyzer will be be needed to drive. I was talking with another member and this could be just the start of changes. Are they going to give the judges a math teat to see if they can count to 6? USA will step in a huge pile if they increase safety qualifications. Just wait and see.
  13. MS I don't think anybody will tell USAWS about a DUI. But the next MVR check they well be caught. A sure give away that somebody can't drive is when they show up to a tournament by Yellow taxi.
  14. I am on my 3rd 200 and I have not had the rope hang up on the hinges. Nor have I had any complaints at tournaments including national or Regionals. If it was a problem the factory would of changes something by now.
  15. The subdivision is called Sunset lakes. No relation to Travers Ski School.
  16. If USA has such a great safety program in the committee's eyes why does Swiss Ski School have a Lake County ambulance sit at the tournaments?????
  17. So when do the new standards take affect? How available are the courses and when are the new clinics going to be held?
  18. Matt your right. And yet USA Waterski wants the renewells every 4 years. So you have safety officials possibly working with expired certificates. How does risk management feel about that?? Are they the lawsuit police and look over the safety committee? Things that make you go WHOOOM!
  19. Wski1831 I understand where you are saying. My point is that somebody who has qualifications that are over and above basic first aid such as a EMT certificate, paramedic cert, RN or Dr. are made to jump through unnecessary hoops. People in the medical field especially in the EMS field do theses skill everyday they go to work. USA need to use common sense and they don't in many cases. To have an EMT or paramedic offer to do a first aid course and be turned down because he/she in not a regional safety coord is crazy. And it has been done. Question, as a certified in first aid does that certificate ever expire? Do you have to do CEU,s? As an EMT I have to recertify every 2 years with the state. Basically my point is that USA needs to look at the persons qualifications and give them a written test sure. If they possess an EMT cert or higher maybe they should fast track of grandfather they in to being a safety coord or even an rectification instructor.
  20. I have been in the sport for many years and I have never seen an official drink while an event is going on. Now I have never ask for a breathalyzer but for the most part I believe everybody takes driving very seriously given the consequences. To have a volunteer pay for a background on him/herself is stupid. Maybe it is time to have the 3 event division move on to be it's own governing body. Or here is a thought how about the INT league? They know how to have fun at there tournaments. If all the drivers told USA to pound salt and refuse to do a background check what are they going to do???? An AWSA event needs drivers Who holds the power? If this goes through the drivers need to band together and say no.
  21. I am a state safety coord. but I cannot give a clinic bucause I am not a regional director. So much for looking at back rounds.
  22. Can you use 2 hands of just one hand? Does USA have a rule for that????
  23. AWSA is more concerned if somebody can count to six then the care somebody gets when they get hurt.
