  1. There is already a division for 36mph skiers that crosses age divisions - Open. MM is intended to cross all the 34mph divisions. I have no problem making MM skiers ski only in MM, but I don't understand why the division needs to go faster. I have tried 35mph several times now. It's not that big of a difference. So, why go to all the trouble changing everything? We qualify at 34.2mph, then change it to 35mph? Doesn't make sense. It's kinda like saying, why don't we take the top 25% of the Open guys and make them ski 38mph?
  2. If its just corrosion, try something like Lime-Away. But yes it is pipe thread.
  3. I am not on them anymore, but I have seen a few people replace the aluminum plate with a thick G10 plate with a small piece of dual lock in the middle. This flexes just enough in an out the front fall to allow them to release. I had no issues with the Fogman's. I switched to my own dual lock creation because if felt more solid. Fogman's tend to rock back and forth a little.
  4. I am lighter and much stronger. Tons of core work on top of everything else. Had my best season by far.

  6. How about a hand signal? Both palms facing skier. Touch index fingers together, touch thumbs together. Push hands together a bit. Fold all other fingers.

  8. I'm not sure that will fly unless you enter it as a fun class. There are no 35mph times in WSTIMS. They will have to modify ZO and our scoring software. I understand they are proposing a test year, but how would it even get into the system?
  9. We usually go year round, but the earthquake shut down our water heater (nuclear reactor) at our winter site. Hope they turn it on soon! Usually, in Feb the water at that site is warmer than Okee. Air temp, not so much.
  10. Does anyone know how this will be decided? I have heard this has gotten pretty far up the ladder. It is not by a vote by MM skiers because I was not notified. Also, is this to make the MM division harder and more 'elite' or is it to make it easier for the 36mph skiers to make the transition? Either way, I am intrigued and want to give 35 a shot. Too bad our water is friggin cold!
  11. The only problem with 'once your in your in' is that when you hit the MM avg, you don't have a choice. They give you the MM qualification. There is a pretty big variance in the MM division. Being at the bottom, I'd like to try the 35mph, but if I had to choose one I'd stick with M3. Not because I want to place high, but because I don't want to ski 35 all the time (I don't think).
  12. I think it's a great idea. I'd love to try 35. One big hurdle will be the zero based scoring system. How will 35mph be scored? 3 extra buoys?
  13. As low as possible. Ideally, you need to find a 'pocket' that fits your anatomy. I feel like it is part of my body. Tucked in around mid thigh, but I feel a connection between my elbows, biceps and even forearms with my rib cage. Watch some video's of Andy. You will see it is tucked away in a 'pocket.' Jamie B is another great example.
  14. I agree Jim. Some of the things discussed on this thread would violate the rules in my mind. Altering the hull is one of them. A prop change would be another. These boats are approved in a certain manner for tournaments. If it's not being used in a tournament, go for it. I know CC tests each promo boat themselves to make sure they are ready to go. Beyond that, I provide a counter weight that can be moved as needed and adjust the rudder to where I think is a good average of what myself and the other local drivers like. If a boat shows up at one of my tournaments that I feel is setup improperly, has been altered (like bondo) or is a danger to the skiers, it will not be used. I have seen some boats this year that fit in that category. Watching longer line skiers get launched is not fun. Hell, feeling a significant bump through 32off is not fun.
  15. @Dirt, the two CPs I have been in ski great, but have been difficult to drive compared to the 200. Skiers have no trouble pulling it around. Requires much more capable driver than the 200. They feel too light to me. I have no problem driving them (about like the MC and Bu), but if I was going to pull a record, I'd pick the 200.
  16. Agreed. If you do get it to turn and get angle, it feels like it will break you in half trying to hold on.
  17. Lightweight is not necessarily the way to go. Sure it MIGHT give a good wake, but it would be harder to drive. Take it to the extreme - would you want to ski behind a jet ski? It's light weight, has no wake and doesn't use much fuel. Another example are two current production boats. Both have similar wakes. One is light and one is not. Guess which one is easier to drive? Don't know about ya'll, but I'll pay a little extra in fuel to have a smaller wake and be easier to drive. FYI, the 200 is a game changer. That's why all the other manufacturers are playing catch up. Is it perfect? No, but it is a gigantic leap forward. All you have to do is watch someone at longer line and/or slower speed to see that. It's probably why the new Malibu exists. Also part of the reason there are so many complaints about the MC wake. I love the barge comments about the 200 - 4" wider, 6' longer and 200# heavier turns it into a barge. It still will out accelerate all the others. It also doesn't launch the longer line skiers.... I agree with you though, the next game changer will have to ski AND drive like a 200, but at a lower price. Not sure it can be done, but they will sell a lot if they do.
  18. Make sure you read the height requirements before building. It varies depending on distance from the course.

  22. I plan on measuring mine now that tournaments are over. Will report tomorrow. All I know is it friggin works.
  23. Mine has quite a bit of twist as well. Took me a little while to get used to it, but love it now.
  24. 65" Nano Mid with twist 178 amp. I have a ventral on the front of the fin.
  25. Similar story here. LOVE this ski (with the twist). No clue what the settings are. My average has gone up over 4 buoys in the past month. Part the ski, part being non-injured, part all the time I've spent in the gym.
