  1. I'll second Horton's reference to https://www.absolutept.com/shooters-elbow/. I currently have some minor tendinitis and have used the PT techniques mentioned in this link. So far so good. I think the key for me (like everything in life) is having the discipline to do the PT everyday. In my opinion injections do nothing but eventually weaken the tendon.
  2. I'm with @than_bogan about the "swooshy" logo. I'm not saying that I would have picked that logo as my first choice, but at least the swoosh wasn't just a reinvention of the current logo. And considering all the talk about trying to re-market the sport it was disappointing that there weren't some more "youthful" options. Unfortunately I really can't see any of these logos on the back of anyone's car window who is under the age of 45.
  3. Like @bill22 says my Stargazer won't work for him. I have the complete system including puck, master module, smart timers, judges display, and dash display for dirt cheap.
  4. I have the entire system that came out of my 2007 196 including pucks etc. PM me. Ted Thomson

  6. I'm an owner at Aquaplex (tournament lake) but my house is on Lake Austin (public lake). If you need a hybrid perspective let me know - Ted Thomson 512-422-5876.
  7. Great video and very well done. I wish I had been on the ski team at Texas. I'm sure there are more knowledgeable people that can comment but I'm actually surprised that more schools don't sponsor a waterski team and give scholarships. @DooSPX if you want to offset football that might be an option. Seems like a win win for everyone. I hope I haven't opened up a can off worms here............
  8. I recently discovered a trick that would work with any top (but especially the Camaro) - tuck the bottom of the top into your shorts. I know it sounds simple and maybe a bit dumb but it really seems to minimize the blasts of cold water coming into the top.
  9. The added advantage for the hex bar/trap bar is that once you've done your lifts you can carry the bar/weights around the gym in a "farmer carry". This really strengthens your hand grip and gives a different workout while your legs recover. I agree with everyone else - always know how to lift properly.
  10. Several people have mentioned this already (@2tracmind) but I have found that this technique helps me get my hips/shoulders/body in the right position before the turn-in.
  11. Water is draining out of Aquaplex. I've heard there's minimal damage except for moving around the jump ramp. Based on the height of the judges towers the water was about 4 feet above a normal full lake surface. The berm dividing the two lakes was/is completely under water.
  12. @razorskier1 touches on speed in his post. For me speed isn't the issue - its being able to properly utilize that speed with good body position. And is it possible to permanently ban the phrase "light on the line"?
  13. Obviously everyone has a different opinion but I just don't like how the tower looks on the 200. I hate the squiggle design. It just seems a bit harsh. For some reason the Malibu tower looks cleaner and seems to flow with the boat better. Plus the bimini looks better on the Malibu tower. I happened to be in the market for a promo this year and I took a hard look at that Kansas boat. Very nice. The CC tower was so decisive that ultimately my wife and I decided that if we bought the Malibu it would have a tower. If we bought the 200 then no tower. I ended up buying a 200 (picking it up this weekend).
  14. Like a lot of people my first real ski was a Redline - but that technology is at least 30 years old. That ski is now part of my waterski bench.
  15. @jbwann You and I are basically the same skier. Lots of 32s and some 35. I also ski on an XT. I demoed several skis before I settled on the XT. I'm not a Goode fanatic either; I ski on the ski that works best for me. I have found that compared to other skis the XT is very stable and consistent. I also believe that regardless of what ski you are on if you are getting funny body movements at your hardest line length and you're great at the longer rope lengths - the problem is your technique and not the ski. All mistakes magnify at shorter lengths. For both of us (me also) to progress up the line we both need to erase funny body movements and improve out gates. Personally I have made a consistent effort to stamp out bad stack and bad posture. Hope this helps.
  16. Any possibility of using symbols for the sh$% word? (like the old shirt). I don't want to reinforce the language I already hear from my kids.
  17. I recently did a clinic with Nate outside St. Louis (Lake of Dreams). Unfortunately I wasn't skiing well that day - but - what struck me the most about Nate was the 100% total complete confidence he has in his skiing ability. I guarantee that every time Nate Smith goes out and runs up the line he is 100% confident that he'll run the pass - even 41 and 43. At the clinic we had some dead time between skiers and on the spur of the moment the lake owner asked him to ski some passes for us. Five minutes later he's running up the line deep into 41 off - no prep time, no screwing around - just pure business. Based on recent threads about being stuck forever at a particular buoy count or being fearful of injury at a particular line length maybe the real problem might be between our ears (it is for me).
  18. Since I owned and sold an OB4 system I have a dog in this hunt. When I sold my system several people asked for feedback and I tried to be very clinical and methodical in my analysis (I hope I was). In my opinion if you have a complaint about something try to be thoughtful and methodical with your comments. For me, BOS is a source of information - and honest feedback should be protected.
  19. My dad still owns a 1982 2001 with a cool black and grey hull combo. Bullet proof boats. Besides the cheap cost the other attraction is the simple nature of the 2001 - basic Ford 351 Windsor motor that anyone can work on, basic gauges, and a boat hull - that's about it. Sure it has the classic Airguide speedos and not ZO but if you're out on the lake with your buddies and an humongous ice chest of beer who cares?
  20. Remembering that there is a fine line between loading with proper connection and just loading.
  21. As a newly minted Assistant Driver politics are part of the game. I would also argue that politics isn't the right word - just treat people right and offer to work hard. My ski partner (into 38) told me to ask the Chief Driver early and often to drive, show up early to gas/map the boats, stay until the last person leaves to wipe everything down and help wherever I'm needed. If you roll in right before the tournament starts and leave once you've skied then don't complain. On a separate note I took an online Webinar class with @leonL back in February (maybe?) and really learned a lot. Good job!
  22. I agree with @Horton - demo demo demo. In my opinion this is why SIA works so well. The OB4 system didn't work for me, however, the guy that bought it from me loves it. Both of us are happy. Do your homework and take a chance. If you experiment carefully and methodically then you'll become a better skier.
  23. Agree with @ToddL . @mmosley899 was been nothing but terrific and patient with my questions about the OB4.
