  1. Prostar 205 or Echelon if you're slalom skiing.....I think the Echelon was prior to the Response and after the Skier.... malibucrew.com will get your questions answered pretty quick.
  2. My old Malibu ran ok till past 2600 rpm's, then would bog down after....pick up in fuel tank as mentioned above. Start at gas tank and move to the bow till you find it.
  3. If you travel east to get back home let me know.....I ski near Sandusky.
  4. Also some clubs around Youngstown...less than an hour depending where you live.... skiowsa.org might help
  5. @ jwroblew Are you an Ohio skier by chance....let me know where.... We run into the same issue at our pond and we have lots of cat tails. There is a spot or 2 by shore that don't have a grade. Not sure there is an easy fix? I've heard of 55 gallon plastic drums half filled with water and strung together. I saw this used at a marina once. I think it did help but not sure how much?
  6. I think this ? was not asked in jest....but I don"t think you can really get rid of them. @behindpropellers....I think you're in my neck of the woods...anything in the N US is harmless.....other than freaking out kids and lady friends. A lot of these critters are endangered....snakes, frogs,lizards......but I'm no reptile expert....Don't want some PETA person trolling the internet to find you!! Than you'll be next!!
  7. I try to mix up the following for 2 sets Easy set Harder set....start at 1 up from your easy opener Ski down the line until you miss. I also only ski 3 days in a row max.....I'm not worth a shit after that....usually my hands are done too. I think I ski best after 2 or 3 days off with a jog or workout during that time.
  8. Not been down lately...but should be at Fanny's Creek....around the corner from Wisdom Dock......Also great water behind Wisdom.......it runs back for a long ways....usually great for a free ski or footin set.
  9. Sonar...and yes is is a little $$$$...but we need it.
  10. I wave...bit I also try to turn my head and look towards the boat......depending where you end up...
  11. New site in my necks of the woods.. Just trying to see if U might be on BOS.
  12. +1 on H2OZ....Plus Trophy Lakes is 5 minutes away if you want to ski 2 places......and stay on Folly Beach
  13. His 1st step should be to start a waterski club on the lake....+1 on the USA Waterski site For a small fee anyone on the lake can join, they are organized, can have learn to ski days, etc. This will help with the intro to all of the little orange buoys for those that don't know about them. Plus lots of clubs on public or bigger lakes have great websites and he can show this off....you can search for them on USA Waterski website. Good luck.
  14. If your (not mine) Prezident doesn't do more In the Chicago locks, the Great Lakes could all look like this due to these carp.......as a North Coaster it would be pretty ugly to our summer rec life and costs lots of people $$$ and jobs. But just from a WT standpoint, pretty funny.
  15. This was not much of a slalom boat.....pretty much gear'd at footers. Neighbor used to have one.....wake wake was pretty stiff and wide too.... Late 80's to Early 90's MC would be the way to go for a project boat for slalom
  16. I'm Nick Mohler, currently live in the west burbs of Cleveland, OH. The North Coast! No, I don't ski on Lake Erie. I only go on the big lake in 5'-7' waves to perch fish and not puke. Ski with a great club on a farm pond near Sandusky, OH - world capital of roller coasters and waterparks. My wife just started skiing the mini course and is getting to be a pretty good driver. I also frequent SE MI - family has a lake cottage in Lenawee County. Just goof around and foot, board or sit on the float boat. Past Ohio University Bobcat ski team member....Glass City Waterski club too. Last year in M2 if I went to tourneys. 99 Response LX w SGPP 67' D3 X5 Need to spend a whole week at H2OZ, Swiss Ski school or the like.....one of these days!
  17. Oh and a back board?...really....screams of bad karma! Maybe you could put bindings on it and go for a spin.
  18. Anyone know if this is an old hull from another boat. It doesn't jump out, but maybe a MC Prostar? I remember some of the old Waterski Boat Buyers guides a while back and how some of the different makes make looked familiar?
  19. I go to the pond to relax, have fun, and hopefully ski well. Most of our club does the same. A shi*#y set is much better than being at work, on the couch, mowing the lawn, golfing or fishing!  I don't always ski down the line...too easy to just count balls. We also goof around once in a while....ride my wife's shaped ski, just ski my opener set until I'm beat for exercise, that type of thing. Good luck.
  20. They are pretty slimy...I'll try and change it Wednesday Thanks all
  21. My PP Stargazer works fine going 1 way thru the course. We drop at each end. The other way it beeps once, but won't beep again and start timer @ entrance gates. It seems to be holding speed ok, and it feels ok skiing. Magnet is still there at that gate. Can magnets go bad? Anyone ever have this? Any hints? Thanks.
  22. 4k sounds in the range, but that depends on all of the X factors involved. Check laws in your state....many states very strongly protect land owners who grant others permission to use their property for recreational purposes...i.e fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, etc. You assume all the risk in your activity. Outdoorsmen (hunting, fishing, etc) in these states pushed to get these laws passed back when frivolous lawsuits were taking off. A lease is a legal agreement and would be in effect, but you could put this same language in the lease to make the land owner at ease and have the same language in your state. Good luck...take care of the owners and don't just write a check....cut grass, stock fish, teach their kids to ski, BBQ for them...that's what make these things work out.
  23. At 2 & 4, which is my offisde, I seem to be getting the handle up high out of the turn, starting to cross the wakes, up by my chest. Sometimes I get it down and get back on track, or I end up on the rear of the ski?...but it usually it too much to make up  Any suggestions? Is it just handle position? Maybe too much weight on my back foot? Mostly 4 ball @ 22, or 2 ball @ 28 off @ 34mph...5'9" 180 lbs...67" D3 X5  I'm not running 28' yet.... I took some video, but of course skied ok and didn't get it.... Thanks from the North Coast...
  24. Fishing. Do you see what these amateurs win in tourneys?? Great lakes stops...7k, 12 k, 20k, new boat, new truck etc... My dads buddy has a full sponsorship...new loaded full size truck and bass boat every year. And he's a weekend warrior And drinking beer doesn't hurt your performance!
