  1. @Than_Bogan she will be out jumping you in a week and within a month coaching you.
  2. I went through this last year. Decided I didn't want to take the downside risk of trying to sell a Centurion in the northeast. Would up with a used MC and can't be happier.
  3. Enjoyed April's commentary also.
  4. I looked at my partners 2018 carbitex and can confirm there is still rubber from the heel to the top of the boot.
  5. @6balls more than the wake, He is going to love the entirety of the boat.
  6. Ski on Winnisquam. Still relatively crowded so you have to get up early or ski late but you don't have to deal with the big boats at all. You requirements are water sports so stick with a direct drive.

+1 on the fixed HO rtp. Loyal user for 15 years. Well made. Good footbed. Doesn't stretch out.
  8. @GAJ0004 I went around the same time. But he was on a small pond pretty close to an old Howard Johnson. His was the first 38 I ever saw. His son was a nice little skier at the time. It was a lot of fun.
  9. @escmanaze that was a long time ago :). I remember duct taping 6 1/2 by 4 inch bolts I had laying around. By the time the tape gave way they didn't need it anymore. I have seen others use weighted discs screwed on but not sure of weight.
  10. I think it has been said before. Weights on the back of the ski helped my kids; both control the skis while in the water and keep the right angle to help them get up.
  11. New to me this year. Bought from our promo guy. The only thing I can say bad about it, is I have not skied behind it enough yet. The boat is SWEET
  12. @Chef23 we use mason's line to attach the buoys to a portable course. The reason for the mason's line is it will break before any parts of the course do.
  13. I use the carbon handle and i still cut through the plastic. So I double up with plastic tubing from Home Depot. I cut it in the middle a bit to go up the V and leave some past the V. That seems to do the trick.
  14. I use a 3. I also pack it with one of the large Goode bags with all my stuff in that. The screeners have a much easier time keeping everthing together and getting it back in the tube. One rote you have to turn your ski on its side in the Goode bag to get it to fit. I still wrap and protect the ski with the vest, towels etc.
  15. Survey done. My comments below think ZBS is a good rule, especially for juniors. I do see a place for it to attract more lower level skiers to attend tournaments in all age groups. However I DO NOT think that changing the max speeds is in the best interest of the sport or athletes. It does not create a level playing field and increases the chances of injury. In addition increasing max speeds would only apply to a select few which even makes it more discriminatory. If we have select skiers that want to stay at higher speeds, you could allow older skiers to ski in a younger division that still has the higher maximum speed they want to ski at vs. making the older skiers have a disadvantage. I am also surprised that this only applies to the Men's divisions. IE if a 70yo man can go 36, why can't an open woman/W1 etc go 36 to gain a 6 buoy advantage.
  16. @ToddL the rule above says a 6 full buoys must be run to get a second pass.
  17. To me this is two rule changes not one. ZBS - good Increased max speed. - bad ZBS for juniors is especially good and specifically for boys 3 where some of those kids are just not ready physically for 36
  18. Crossfit has this notion to a degree. They have the Open which anyone can compete in and is what qualifies you for regionals. If you are not at a certified gym for your workouts, you can video your attempt and it gets voted on as to the validity and score. Seems to me that video with a boat judge could keep a lot of the honesty problems in check and make our membership more involved.
  19. Congrats. I read BOS more than I read the newspaper.
  20. Any rule change that rewards more buoys for a higher speed is a defacto increase to max speed for that age group. I think the proposed alternative for those who want to keep skiing the higher speeds is to stay in the previous age division.
  21. Just dropped boat off at storage. Winterized and bottom washed last weekend. Very sad but it is 45 degrees in boston
  22. Transfer what I learn in Florida to skiing up north. Don't get all up in my head.
  23. I get them quite often mostly in the right hip flexor. Sometimes when I ski I will cramp in the right hamstring. I am LLF
  24. Soft Goode bag inside sport tube. Best of both worlds. I use a radar strada and just put it in the bag on its side pack use the master line rope caddies to extend the Velcro holders then towels vest etc around it and always have my firkin on the tail. Makes it easy for TSA to put it back together.
  25. Not sure I saw this one. 2001 Malibu RLX price.
