  1. It kinda sucks slaggin' a guy on price when he's trying to sell. The market sets the price. As an aside, I got about what I paid for my '16 200 brand new when I traded it for my '21 so the market ain't what it used to be even if its leveling out now.
  2. I've pulled one guy who could take pretty much WFO out of the hole with a 6.2L SN, but I hate it every time. He's over 250lbs. and built like a tank but the start is so violent it makes me queasy. I keep expecting to see arms and no torso connected to the rope, but nope, he's still all there.
  3. An outboard Sanger has a pretty nice slalom wake, IIRC. But I can't recall how it tracks. Its been a while.
  4. Is TWBC filming/covering the amateur comp?
  5. @horton is spot on. Every ski boat has a trouble spot somewhere. But that trouble spot can be made worse or minimized depending on set up. And it sure helps to get stacked and balanced and get the weight off your back foot crossing the wake.
  6. There is a definitely sweet spot for the hydrogate and it might need some micro-adjustment up or down. I'd use a straight edge and see if it lines up with the rails as a place to start if you have the weight distribution right and you don't have a tower.
  7. The vapor will ski fine and not sink at slower speeds as long as you are not pushing the weight limits and are on the lower end of the weight chart. I’m not knocking the senate it’s also a good choice but ski size relative to ski weight matters in this discussion.
  8. @andre if somebody is so out of breath that they'd suffer the shame and embarrassment of missing a start in a tourney on purpose I'd just assume we give them the time to catch their breath. And maybe a little oxygen out of a bottle for good measure.
  9. Brenda is basically a solo shop with a little help from her brother and I am certain the supply-chain issues have been very tough for her to deal with. Personally, I always buy ahead and have spares lying around so I am never pressed for time over ropes or handles, but if you need one now you need one now. That said, my two ski buddies got in their blue bomb handles and I agree 100%, these things are THE BOMB. I will order a few this off season for me and the boy and his cousins.
  10. I took a hot lap in one of these boats and my back hurt--bad--for two weeks. I could not believe the pounding. I was supposed to take 3 laps and tapped out after one lap. The boat I was in was an unlimited inboard (top fueled 8.2L twin turbo/1500 HP engine) and we were running hot in about 3 feet of cross chop. These folks are bonkers.
  11. Replace the handle when the grip is too worn or it looks like there is a risk of breaking. Replace ropes more frequently even if they do not look worn out or about to break if you want to save your elbows. Newer ropes have a little more give than well used ropes.
  12. A note binding placement: you need to measure from back of tail to the back of the front binding (where on the binding depends on the binding) to determine "stock" setting. The holes don't necessarily mean anything. It looks like its 30.5". https://files-us-prod.cms.commerce.dynamics.com/cms/api/nwtfklkdlc/binary/MA3Jxm
  13. I have seen re-rides for skis sticking in the mud bottom on the start. I am not sure if that's rule based or just mercy.
  14. If you are getting a "bad pull" behind a 200 with a 5.3L or 6.0L I would look at ZO mapping or ZO software updates or dual pucks or driver error or bad weight distribution or misaligned hydrogate or a host of other variables before I blamed the engine.
  15. At 190 lbs., a 69 or 71 inch Radar Senate, Union, or Terrain would all fit the bill, in descending order of ski performance and ascending order of ease of deep water start.
  16. Anyone know this year's Hilltop pro lineup?
  17. Our jackets and shirts and swag used to say "Team Chico Tournament Waterskiing" and that was it. And we kept the team boat (which was donated by a parent) and kept title in the President's name.
  18. Chico State pulled that crap a long time ago and the team disaffiliated from the University and still competed as an independent club. The NCWSA does not require the university to recognize the club, at least it did not used to.
  19. PSI is driven by load range. That sounds like a Load Range B tire, which is about the flimsiest rating. Look for some Load Range C or better yet D tires with at least a 75MPH speed rating.
