  1. For open water, it is important to pick a point on land as a reference in order to keep the boat straight.
  2. @mmskiboat that is a beautiful boat! What lake are you on?
  3. Air 30...Water 40. And it's snowing. @ hours northeast of Toronto....
  4. back in the day, when Waterski Magazine did real boat reviews in the early 1990's the Barefoot Sanger was one of the highest rated boats in the entire test. They are beautiful boats.
  5. Finally a ski move by Caldwell that I can do as well as him!
  6. Guess it's time to stop laughing at the Europeans and their bidets...lol
  7. A couple of points. You shouldn't just "throw the boots in the middle" , you need to get the boots in the right place. High end skis are generally more sensitive to set up. Also, a 67 might be a little big for you. My son weighs the same as you (and taller) and both Jmac and Brooks suggested the 66 in a 2018 vapor pro build.
  8. Congratulations to Both of you guys! You both deserve it. @Bruce_Butterfield , I have always enjoyed your posts for their thoughtfulness and technical insight. @The_MS, I have also really liked your posts for your love of Monzas and your world class ability to needle @Horton ! Well done boys!
  9. After over 30 years of living, breathing and representing KIDDER products the time has come to start in a new direction. As of today I will no longer be working with D3 SKIS. I have new opportunities in the sport we all love and Kari and I will now focus our energies in this fresh new direction. I wish our friends at D3 all the best going forward and thank the Kidders for the time we have been involved with such a great company. What I will miss most are the relationships I have made over this long journey. This includes a long list of skiers, dealers, distributors, allies and competitors. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. The time has come to turn the page. Ski you all soon! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2995682027163300&id=100001645963222
  10. Years ago I had Lapoint O'Brien that seemingly died over night. It went from skiing great to dumping me constantly. Yes, I checked fin etc. Most of the time the skis just change gradually and it's really not noticeable until you get on a new ski.
  11. Just watched the Wade Cox episode. That was the best one yet. I'mm one of those old dudes (55) who watch those duels between Wade and Andy. It is so great to hear Wade talk about his life, his relationship with Andy, and how you looked up to him as a young skier. Bravo Marcus!
  12. I don't think comparing scores achieved behind the boats would be all that meaningful. Too hard to sort it out by who pulls the most events, and the difference between sites. For example, say one brand was pulling euro events with exceptionally high scores, would that be because of the boat or the driving? Or something else. If there was a particular boat with a problem at a particular line length, I suppose that might make a difference. At this point, I think all of the big three are good enough and the differences so minor that the point would be largely moot. I once heard someone talking about how many records were set behind a particular brand. Isn't that more a function of how many team skiers you have and how many events you pull? It certainly is at the pro level. I would be more interested in data about how long interiors last and what warranty claims are made etc...
  13. It's interesting in couple of ways. First thing is that they have a prototype that they have put 350,000 km on. Secondly, that the "fuel"/ electrolyte is a liquid makes building infrastructure to support rather simple. On a thread on BOS some time ago (sorry can't remember which one) where we were discussing battery technology, @Than_Bogan made the point that It is difficult to anticipate breakthroughs because nobody has thought of them yet. The part I find particularly interesting is that the "gas" tank is essentially the battery. Another thing that holds promise is that existing service stations require little modification to be able to provide the bi-ion fuel. Just a change to the pumps and nozzles.
  14. This Car Is Powered By Salt Water: 760HP, Top Speed 186 MPH, 621 Miles/Tank https://www.scifront.com/this-car-is-powered-by-salt-water-760hp-top-speed-186-mph-621-miles-tank/?fbclid=IwAR119_aEG6TUsbhm9uxt9AdeX5Cc3RQHmnmGVu75RNOEMgDphAcsvfbGkZo
  15. over the years there have been a few individual athlete deals with non-traditional sponsors. Andy had a deal with Rolex. T-Gas did a 5 Hour Energy commercial. On the other hand, we lost a couple of named tour sponsors over the years. Even Mastercraft dropped sponsorship of the pro wakeboard tour.
  16. It amounts to personal preference rather than a concrete decision tree. Coming from rtp, the hrt will feel more familiar. I honestly doubt that you would have much of an issue going to either. It seems that people have much more difficult time going from a rear boot to rpt.
  17. Favourite BOS boat yet! I love red boats!
  18. From a post from the Toronto Boat Show with a picture of move in day
  19. I remember seeing them in the Waterski Magazine boat test edition. There were always a few small makers giving it a shot.
  20. Don't have a picture on the boat but Max joined the family this summer.
  21. At some point he put up a video on instagram of him buying aluminum angle to cut up into brackets and mounting his boots. Pretty much a demonstration of how you can still get hurt with both feet in. Now, we have no way of knowing if a releasable setup would have prevented or lessened his injury.
  22. We know what he was charged with, and we know what he was found guilty of. We will never 100% know his intent. Only Chad really knows.
