  1. I've tried so many skis this spring, I didn't realize i have another 9970 sitting in the rack. I just put it on ski it again, but since we're running out of summer, i thought i'd mention it here. Anyone wants to try it for free, just let me know. Pay the shipping it or come by and pick it up for a few weeks. No harm no foul if it doesn't work out. Give me a shout...i'm in Orlando if you want to come get it.
  2. The "big" difference imo is the offside turn is a little tougher to keep the handle and leading arm tight to the body. That being said, there's a bunch of "wrong" handed skiers that run super short lines, ski pros, and national champs.
  3. 43 won't get run with surepath, unless a VERY tall skier comes along that is as light. period.
  4. THIS AIN'T TIDDLYWINKS! The 1/4 is there for a reason...How bad do you want to win? Throw it out there if you need it....
  5. https://top.41off.com Shooting for plus 3 to plus 6 on each bouy gives a nice rhythm and smoothness to the pass for shortline slalom. I consider myself a very good driver able to put a 200 (or 97 bubblebutt) right where i want it. BUT, We seem to be moving away from any deviation and i guess "we" want to ski behind a freight train with no give, and now put all the give in the rope (which loses it's give in a matter of weeks). I love the sport and will continue to compete and enjoy running bouys until I can't. But there is no doubt that what we have done takes a toll on the body. Discuss on! haha!
  6. All right Cool Breeze! You'll be back to Slaloming in speedos in no time!
  7. @Deanoski nice rope on that FM bringing up a whole new way to get effed up...
  8. stainless lasts on boat lifts for over 10 years....i wouldn't experiment with anything else.
  9. If Malibu had a warning on the open bow.....
  10. Lighten up all...there are 3 sides to every story.
  11. @Deep11 I'd like to add a little something on your gate. You need to get further up on the boat at the start. It's very hard to "gain" width once in the course. Pull out more aggressively, and turn in from a much wider spot. Your gate shot currently is after you've fell back about 10 feet, and then just more of a "windshield wiper" move. Pull out wide and initiate that turn in much more balanced and centered...more on you front foot. Good luck!
  12. Obrien used to make a vest that had a really good back brace built into it, with 2 buckle straps on the outside. SOMEBODY should make something like that again.
  13. Well, if you can't go back and ski behind a 97 Bubblebutt Nautique, then i offer a suggestion on how to handle the curb behind the boat on your bad wake/line length (especially if it's an early pass). 1. get wide to start 2. get a little more done before the wake, and allow your ankles, and knees to come up into your body more than you normally do, while being sure to keep the ski on edge through both wakes and the troughs on both sides. Keeping the ski on edge will ensure that you don't " quit and restart" out the other side of the wakes. You're not letting up as you go through the wakes; think of it as "de-weighting" the ski a bit as you go through it. The ankles, to me, are the key.
  14. YaKnow, at the end of your life , you're NEVER going to think, I really shouldn't have bought that boat/car/plane/motorcycle/jetski/etc.
  15. When rap songs by killers, and dealers put his name in them, you know he was working on the right side of the fence. That world is a world that most all of us will never know even exists! I hope he gets out ok, in much less time for good behavior.
  16. As an East Coaster, I'd only get to see Matt a couple times a year, sometimes just once....But we'd always start talking like we saw each other last week, and ramble on about all sorts of things. Prayers and Peace to you Marcus.
  17. There are so many friggin variables in skiing ; consistency is the objective for which to strive. ropes, altitude, air temp, water temp, water conditions, size of the engine, maybe the lag of the engine gives you a millisecond and acts like a stretchier rope, or more like perfect pass that let you pull it down a bit, or stiffness in a ski, or torsional stiffness in a ski, or softer tail flex....I think you get the point. ps: Rico swerved.
  18. Really wish we had the camera view on that one from up close! awesome!
  19. As an insurance agent, you need to be careful, and have an arrangement that is not a rental. You need a friend to help you share costs and allows you to store your boat there during the winter. You also need to let your current insurance agent know where the boat is stored, and how it is secured. They will also need to know the drivers who have regular use/control of it.
  20. I live in O'town, and love to just stop in a look around at the new stuff! Back to school shopping coming in the next couple weeks...haha..kids love the clothes!
  21. Sully! What a beautiful boat... someone's going to grab that as an extra to just cruise the lake with cocktail or glass of wine! It belongs on the Winter Park , Conway, or Butler chains.
  22. I think participation at Regionals would drop substantially. Maybe it gets shortened a day, and a big party on Saturday nites! I think Nationals participation would increase, but not as much.
