  1. It's simple to make it more exciting to view on TV. The footage must be edited for tv. We are so used to live coverage of everything, and things take time. A golf tournament takes 20+ hours to play...do we see every shot? of course not. But that's for TV's sake. No warmup, and jump into 38 off...stupid.
  2. SIA60594 is the ad on ski it again... I figured i'd get the word out quick since, states/regionals/nats are right around the corner. If you've been thinking about one, let me know and you can try it for a bit. It's really quick and holds great angle, but i've been on mids and wide rides for too long to get comfortable on it.
  3. @JackQ you may have found something useful in the offside/onside dept. We usually have to give up something to get something to work better on the other side. Some can run 9 degrees on 1 side, and get "maybe" 9 1/4 on the other.... I don't think i ever tried that configuration, but it ought to have a similar effect. The side with the wing lower (left side of photo) should help stop the ski from blowing out on 2/4/6 side of course....using 2 sets of wings, you could have the wide part of the wing towards the rear of the ski on both sides.
  4. So my friend Andy's wife, Kim Hawkins, is a kitchen queen! So she tells me yesterday that her birthday gift to me this year was to create a signature cocktail for me- The Liquid D! Makers Mark Bourbon , Ginger Ale, Blue Caracao, and nice chunk of Orange squished in it....It's awesome, and looks refreshing too! And it already claimed one victim in it's first night...her husband Andy.
  5. Well!...i put the good stuff in this morning, and my ski partner didn't even shorten the rope......friggin wasted money! OOOH...i'm working on my form he says! my neck is a little sore! shoulda told me that BEFORE i went to get gas!
  6. There are many ways to skin a cat as they say .......as you start back into it at your age, i would suggest going to the larger size to keep the body intact until you're in good ski shape. A "too big" ski works fine until the line gets really short... and you can make a big one "ski smaller", but you can't make a small one "ski bigger". The hits on the smaller ski take a toll.
  7. I think Jason was living on my couch in the 90's ...don't remember much schooling then! hahaha, but it sure was fun!
  8. Ben Favret is great for actually telling you/showing you the technical aspect of why and how it gets done in slalom...highlighting the little things.
  9. Just a quick note about the gate for newbies to the system....the negative number at the gate would mean you are entering the course over on the 1 3 5 side....meaning you are away from the skier as they are about to turn into the course. So , if you're trying to help a little bit at the gate, you'll be a little negative at the gate, and a little positive at bouy 1.
  10. Use your canine teeth and get in there!
  11. If I NEVER hear the phrase "punch their ticket" again in my life.....yeah , that would be great! But I'm guessing we'll just have to start a drinking game with that overused phrase.
  12. Tournaments could be cut down to an hour/90minutes and put on tv, espn 5 or whatever. it needs to be sold as surfing/beach volleyball/etc is....with a dash of good looking young adults in great shape...and Just need the advertisers to pay for it...What's it cost to put on an hour of cornhole? You only need 38 and beyond for men....35 and beyond for women to be on TV. It's only 16 seconds, and you cut all the waiting on a broadcast. You redo the voiceovers for broadcast TV and roll. Or maybe it's the sport that pays espn..idk...can't be that huge of a deal with sponsors. WTF, cornhole makes it happen!
  13. Haha...i like Dano the Mano! Yes, he's quite the nonstop salesman, but that's what he's hired to do. He's really a good dude with quite a bit of skills on the water....Wakeboarding and showski/footer background.
  14. Do you think these guys could lower the camera to actually see the ski in the water!? The clouds look great though! Maybe get Vincent S next year...
  15. Do you think these guys filming the masters, could lower the camera to actually see the ski. I'm tired of looking at all the clouds!
  16. @andre it's probably more like a 4 ball dif....but, The problem for most would be that at those lengths/speeds , the ski and ski setup would be very different.
  17. Where's the handle? I can't tell if that's 1/4 bouy...
  18. Political disagreements turns people into shitty drivers!
  19. @chrislandy uuuughh, if i could dislike that post more than once ..i would!
  20. It feels tighter on your hand when fingers are up against the rope and end of handle. The edge of handle against the rope will kind of pinch for "extra" grip if you like.
  21. Accuski was invented by Guy Haggard in Orlando. He's an attorney, and pilot and was a really good slalom skier. Super nice guy. I don't think he got around to the jump part, cuz he didn't care about jumping.
  22. I think the 49 cm cumulative total for out of tolerance needs to be adjusted a bit higher....maybe in the neighborhood of 60 to 65 cm.
