  1. @liquid d it doesn’t attach to the truck. It’s just a trailer converted to a dolly as a winch pulls it up the tracks.
  2. Depends on the green. I don’t think they offer a “classy” green like this anymore.
  3. It's just the excalibur 330 without the plastic shroud covering everything on top.
  4. It’s interesting to hear the models that others consider loud. Just for comparison sake, my 1998 Echelon is the quietest of our group of boats. It has the Primex mufflers (I think) from back in the day....though I’m sure the baffles are shot by now. Followed by In order of loudness: 2012 TXI, 2011 LXI, 2006 LXI, and then the obnoxiously loud 2008 MC prostar. It’s unreal how loud that boat is.
  5. One year I forgot to put the block plugs back in before pouring antifreeze through the manifolds. I usually just take one hose off as the perfect pass servo is on the other. When filling the starboard side manifold from the port side hose, it is "above" the thermostat, antifreeze came rushing out the block plugs. So every time I hear make sure the thermostat is open I wonder if it's really necessary. I think it's good advice, and I'm sure much more flows through the system when it's open vs. what will flow through the tiny air bleed hole.
  6. @Brady Pinnacle wetsuits. I’m 6’5” and bought a 7mm dive suit a few years ago for putting in my dock/rails in very cold water. they have sizes for tall folks, and I can attest they are true sizes. Ironically, the day it arrived my dry suit seal ripped so I tried it for skiing. Haven’t used my dry suit since. It is very much like the old Ski Warm Sahara dry suit.
  7. I had a custom vest made by Eagle as well. However, the stitching for the center/lower back flotation failed during the first few months of Northern Illinois use. I point that out because I was told it was from over-use. They did fix it for free over the winter, but said it'd only be a one time fix for an over-use situation. I only had to pay to ship it there...which was nice. But it started to fail early the next season again. Otherwise, I did really enjoy the comfort and extra chest flotation I had added to the vest.
  8. I do it often when traveling for work in my company vehicle, but I've never taken a ski on a work trip requiring air travel.
  9. Most recently, I used some old ropes to tie up my docks during high water so they wouldn’t wash downstream. ?
  10. I tried a reflex once for my narrow size 13 foot and it was not big enough.
  11. I remember an article in Water Ski magazine many years ago about a group of contractors that got together to build a lake for a fellow contractor...memory tells me it was 10 days, but I don't exactly trust my memory on that one. I do remember it was a very short period of time.
  12. 6'5" and weigh about 230 and have never broken a ski. Radar products the last 10 years. I run -32 in the course regularly and into -35...free ski at -35 and -38 and do much more of that than course ski. Now, I've broken many ropes, and two in the last two months. Not very happy about that I must say...both sides of the rib cage as one was my strong side pull and the other was the weak side pull.
  13. That's at least a 93, have him double check the hull ID on the back of the boat for the year.
  14. I have found improvement in the course by free skiing at least a line length shorter than where I typically fall apart in the course. I do way more free skiing than course skiing simply because of availability. I was pleasantly surprised this morning finally getting back to a course, and skied right up to where I usually do having only free skied the last nearly 2 months.

    Re-power

Would a re-powered "old" boat still be a training disadvantage for the competitive skier? How much difference is there in the pull/wakes/etc. even though the speed and reaction to the skier is now the same.
  16. I used the only remaining part of my Dad’s 68 GTO about 20 years ago. Had to rework the threads on the knob is all.
  17. Siphoning into a ditch would be sure to make someone downstream irate....especially if it’s a man made lake???
  18. On a side note, do you ever notice the RTP laces tightening up from incidental contact when your foot isn’t in? The dial is so sensitive I’m afraid of purchasing that RTP as I drag a foot on starts so need the laces to stay where I set them.
  19. I remember how great the '16 vapor was...I still think it's great! I'm contemplating a new ski "just because" I guess and it'd be tough to talk me out of the '19 vapor.
  20. @Sanderwouters, if you are trick skiing in a current then hands down you want a PP system with a paddle wheel. Not sure if they even "officially" offer that from PP anymore, but I'm thinking they would if you asked for it as they are very helpful in my experience.
  21. I feel your pain. Latest start for me here in NW Illinois in 20+ years due to harsh late winter weather and high water. But it was only about 4-6 weeks late in regards to the typical first outing. Water has to be manageable to get my track and dock installed so I can get my boat out of the boathouse.
  22. So, i guess that means the small size got the nod over the XL as the next to be produced? :/
  23. I switched about 4 year ago, and I went from "no way is this going to work" to complete confidence after a few sets in about a week...mostly free skiing on the river during the transition.
  24. What’s the skier weight range you are suggesting for the sizes...or more specifically if a large would be big enough for a 220-230 lb skier?
  25. Maybe not quite as good, but it certainly won't be the limiting factor in your skiing. Still a very good ski wake.
