  1. Thanks, Oh yeah thanks to Kris Richter for modeling, and feel free to check out the equipment used here (work in progress).
  2. here is a screenshot from last nights filming session, we went up a little higher so that we could see what the skiiers path looks like. I think he was skiing -32@34 in this picture. I am sure that most will be surprised at what the cross course angle really is...
  3. Someone (not me) drove my boat into the dock while it was on the lift and it swung up and into the bottom of the dock putting a 1/4" hole through the fiberglass right above the rub rail. I would rather fix it myself mostly so that the boat isn't out of service for a week. Can I just bondo it then cover with a gel coat repair kit? or is there a kit for this? It is in a plain white area so it should be easy to get the colors close. Suggestions?
  4. Just was talking with a friend here the other day and we were wondering if anyone has any idea what the promo pricing is going to be when these start hitting the market. I didn't see any on SIA that I could call and ask. Thanks
  5. buy a used d3 z7 off ski-it-again for like $100 and she will love it. Very forgiving and cheap but still a high end ski
  6. Those videos change quite a bit, why you would release the product before you had those videos ready boggles my mind... Anyways, what does this weigh compared to a FM quattro single plate setup?
  7. @jdubs ha you edited your post while I was posting or something. Email me at kfennell@gmail.com and we can discuss. I am 100% confident that I can build you a system with better value then the phantom. Not an octocopter for that price though.
  8. Not going to be at nationals, our great ski organization has decided that someone who has lived in the US for 7 years, only lives here, only works here, only pays taxes here, only skis here, and doesn't plan to leave is not american enough to ski in the nationals, so I rented my house and am going on vacation unless someone steps up to pay for me to be at nationals with the copter.
  9. Check out the video Jordan made as a promo for this summers tournaments. It is the first video that includes slalom video shot from the Octocopter. Unfortunately the weather has been terrible here so we haven't had a chance to film much more but more is to come! vimeo.com/90641232
  10. @skialex no it is $850 just for the plates. Plus $145 for a pair of $70 rollerblade boots modified to fit on the plates. Pretty pricey for an unproven product, but who knows maybe it is truly amazing and the sellers know it. It is $50 more then a pair of reflex boots at list price, I am sure I could get a deal on reflex if I tried.
  11. Price is out, $850!!!! for just the mounting plates. I was really excited to get some too because it looked like they were an FM release system, only better. But that is like $200 more then a quattro system with boots and liners.
  12. OH and camera range in mine is actually longer then controller range right now!
  13. What does that full setup cost? I think I could sell something with a stand alone camera control for around $2500 computer controlled flying and stabilized 3 axis gimbal included.
  14. 2 axis only though so yaw movements are always sharp. Can you see what the camera is seeing on your phone? How far away does it work? It also looks like it is not stabilized, so the picture moves as the copter moves?
  15. The phantom i OK, but it is basically a toy, and you don't get very long flights with a camera, and you don't get standard yaw on the go pro gimbal, if you get a gimbal at all. If you guys are interested in a real high end go pro platform that can take 100% smooth video you need to custom build really still, hit me up if you are intereted in going that route, I will have some nice video posted from our drone in the next few days but here is some of our existing work. https://www.youtube.com/user/Tankker99 Note: It is obviously much more expensive then the phantom but the ability to control the camera alone is worth it.....
  16. Yeah @Horton, please tell us about carbon fins!!!!!
  17. You can call me 512-739-5102 I should be around and I live at smrr
  18. Sounds good, it's just sitting on my work bench and there is a box right beside it ready to go!
  19. My 66 xt is easier to get up on and more stable then my 67" Strada was at 200 lbs if that helps.
  20. I put this on SIA last week and I haven't got any interest, http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=27028 Just need to get this moved out since I just got in my new Nano XT, any interest? The ski works great, and a pro looked at the repair job and said it will hold up well. I skiied on it probably a hundred times after the repair and it is still going strong. Thanks Kevin 512-739-5102
  21. @tfin will give the best advice here. Basically if you don't move towards the boat the line can't get loose. Just keep our hips squared down the lake and dont let your arms and shoulders out to the boat.
  22. Definately use the senate with those choices of skis. I used a 69" senate to learn to run the course at 240 lbs and ran up to 36 mph on it I think.
  23. Lake holds like 23 Million gallons of water? thats for 2500 x 250 x 5 ft average depth. At that rate you will be fill in like 17 days at 900 GPM. In 17 days you'll lose say 3 inches to evaporation at these temps so maybe it takes 1 more day to make up for that. You should be skiing in 18 days and there will still be a shit load of ice in 18 days if they are currently at 26" If your average is 6 ft you are closer to 23 days, if your lake is only 2200 ft long and 200 ft wide you are closer to 16 days for 6 ft average. If you tell me the exact dimensions and slope and the expected average temperature and wind while you fill I can estimate fill time ;) (assuming your ground is non porous, I have no idea how much water gets lost on first fill does anyone?
  24. do you have a local radar pro you could buy it through and get him to set it up as part of a lesson? I am not sure there are many pro shops that will be able to do that and do a good job? I would love to be proven wrong though, every time I call a pro shop you get a wakeboard dude pretty much it seems.
