  1. Thanks for the answers, I gave it a go and it worked well. I followed the procedure to get the base timing right (well how to do it on a truck anyways) and the automatic the the rest, I will check the distributor in a few hours to check if it is sparking cloe enough to the middle, thanks!
  2. I am getting conflicting stories here! I have a 2012 PCM 343 that I had to change the distributor on. If I got it lined back up and the boat runs do I need to hook up the computer and get the timing adjusted or is it automatic? One mechanic told me it needs adjusted and the other said it is automatic. If it is not automatic, how do I set it in base timing mode? @Jody_Seal ? :dizzy:
  3. I ski at bennetts as a drop in 4-5 evenings a month don't have a problem 90% of the time?
  4. @ob there is a new rudder sometime after 2012, not sure when, it made a world of difference when I retrofitted it to my boat. I think anyone with bad tracking on a CP would be well served to replace the steering cable and rudder and then grind the rudder correctly, drives better then most mastercrafts now IMO. They also moved the rudder from offset to center, but I am not sure what if any effect that had.
  5. My 2012 (really a 2011 with 2012 name I think based on engine cover?) Does not make a very loud noise either unless you change forward to reverse at over 1000 RPM, but don't they all? Also its only preliminary since I havent skiied it yet, but holy @#$% are the wakes ever TINY if you change to a 12.5x15 2207 prop!!!!!! like half the already tiny size they were even at slow speeds.
  6. I have a 2012 carbon pro, the prop hasn't been off the shaft for at least 500 hours. I got the nut off no problem, put on an OJ prop puller, no go. Took it off, hit the prop from the back with a hammer and AWL, no go, ok put the puller back on, hit it wth the hammer, no go. Go borrow a newer OJ puller that has a pointy piece in the middle, STILL no go. Watching the videos now, maybe I put it on too tight before I hit it? Is that possible? I was doing it pretty tight before I hit it with the hammer. Seems like it should still work though? Thoughts?
  7. I can't help you with this, but do you know anyone who skis in Huntsville, ON? I will be visiting my family in August, and apparently there is a course there, but they don't know who uses it.
  8. @JJVDMZN I thought it looked like his rear foot came loose after the first on the tail impact and that was what allowed the ski to rotate?
  9. Is he on a rear toe loop or two OB4's? If that is two OB4 isnt the rear tension set too low? I don't think I would have released from my boots there and maybe even skiied away? (I am terrible and land off the 2nd wake too far back all the time. Not bashing the boots for safety at all though, I am trying to get some for myself and wife and friends here at SMRR. Just maybe a setup question?
  10. Top pro told me yesterday something that fixed this for me, I was trying to do the same thing, Instead just stand as tall as you can, then taller, literally on the balls of your feet, and kind of just fall away from the wakes, definately do not drop your hips to do anything though, your knees and hips should be WAY straighter there.
  11. Maybe I shoudlnt have asked for thoughts on mine's value. I guess the main question is how much do ya'll think going over 1000 hours will affect things
  12. So I have a 2012 Carbon Pro and I am deciding what my exit strategy will be here. It has 630 hours now, will finish this year at ~8-900 and will be over 1000 by say late may next year at the worst. I guess my question is what will the difference in the value and ease of selling the boat be at 850 vs 1100 hours, just wondering if I should be planning on running it through next summer. My only real concern is TCO, so if the depreciation from 850-1100 hours is more then putting the same hours on a newer boat I want to pick up something new. Any idea what this boat is even worth? It has the newer Rudder and drives great. Engine is strong, interior is worn but not torn up, just faded. Exterior is good+ Thoughts?
  13. After watching my neighbour go through what you are going through right now I have the following suggestions without knowing anything about you. Assuming you are in the course. 1. Slow down, seems everyone wants to learn too fast. 2. Buy a bigger ski. 3. 3. Buy bindings meant for running the course 4. Dont use your biceps at all 5. Stand up on the ski. You should basically never be falling into your ribs, if you are it means you are trying way too hard, or exceeding the limits of yourself or your equipment. However I see some people that do this every set and they are probably breaking all of the rules above.
  14. Rob - Call me to discuss if you want, I am a younger traveling salesman and I live at SMRR and know the area - 512-749-2498 @rq0013
  15. Mortgage, HOA, insurance, taxes, JUST under $40,000 a year.
  16. @rwskier‌ were you given the option of doing the surgery vs not? What made you go with doing the surgery? My doctor friend recommended that I try PT and not skiing for 6 months before I commit to surgery, did you try anything like that?
  17. Man you guys are all about getting cut up eh? :) Good stuff to think about. @LagoLydia‌ Since that is about the same surgery, how long were you hurt bad enough that you had to be on pain killers after wards? I am a sales engineer and I only get paid when i am selling things so I would like to be back in action after say a week, is that possible?
  18. So I went to see the doctor today about a torn sub scapular tendon and partially torn long biceps tendon. The sub scap is torn where the long biceps tendon "pully" is (from a jump crash) and it allows the bicep to move around and pop causing tearing when I take slack hits... He gave me three options. His opinion was that the bicep and sub scap would not repair themselves, but that there was about a 40% chance that it never gets and worse. Pain and popping would never go away. 1. I can do PT and keep skiing, 60% chance I rupture my bicep and get Popeye bicep, probably wont get any better as stated above, but PT will help stabilize shoulder to reduce pain and popping,. 2. I can cut the bicep long tendon, heals in a month and back to no pain likely and 75% strength, but still popeye bicep. When he is in there he looks at the subscap and repairs it if nessecary, however if we do that then the recovery is bad again. 3.. Tenodosis + repair the sub scap. Back to near 100% after 6 months or so. 1 month in a sling, 1 month range of motion exercises, 2 months pt 2 months light exercise. Not super excited about popeye bicep, or 6 month recovery so I am pretty torn. Has anyone else had this surgery here or had to choose? Thanks
  19. @SDNAH2OSKIER‌ You couldn't do that here either, whether we wanted to let you or not, don't forget about insurance etc. But I more then know what you are talking about trying to be young in this sport!
  20. You can release only one foot at a time with the OB4, BUT it doesn't matter with this system, because you can release in a rotational fall, it is OK to have the feet release one at a time. The main reason you don't want to have a one foot in one foot out fall is to avoid rotational injuries, and in this case the binding system prevents that.
  21. We are trying to put on a small 3ev L tournament here but our jump survey is a little bit out of date and we don't have a TC available. Is there anyone kind of local who would be available to help us with this? We have everything else lined up. We can for sure give free skiing and lodging to whoever helps. If you can help call Kevin 5127395102 or Kurt G
