  1. I saw some on sale at a shop a few weeks ago. 205 six seven eight 9099
  2. Is too easy... That's a good one. Too easy to go broke buying new skis / boats / traveling to tournaments. Too easy to eat crow. "Piss on this, I'm selling my stuff!.... We skiing Tuesday?" Too easy to surf the Internet. My default page is BOS. Too easy to lie. "I'm just skiing against myself." Which is code for I'm working as hard as I can and will beat his A$$ as soon as I get the chance. Too easy to get caught up in the hype of the higher scores. Doesn't make it easier to get on the podium... When I started skiing in the late 80's 2@38 was required to get an open rating. Today those same guys have to ski 2@39 to ski MM. I realize it's only 34.2, I guess that's why it's so easy... Too easy for me to keep chasing the dream. Maybe I will finally qualify for National's next year...
  3. I've a question, how do you go from 15 off to 38 in 2 years? Congratulations on getting there. I think I'm going to sell my stuff....
  4. Looks like a lot of great features. I'm excited to see advancment in a 3 event boat. I'm looking forward to skiing behind one. I will never have one... Capacity of 7 people. I know that sounds crazy to the rest of you, but there are times we take another family (usually 4 people) to the lake just to hang out / let the kids play and ski. My kids are 11 & 12 and a big part of them enjoying the sport is hanging out with friends. That's what happened to our 196. It was great, but our TXI is much better.
  5. @Jody_Seal - Thank you! I was having a slow day and that photo of Billy's "off" side just made it. The Divorce Lake guys are always a blast. Can't wait to ski the fall tournament 9/21.
  6. @Wish "gear" is also used for tightening the rope. Typically by those who like to be dragged prior to being pulled up. I call those people "special". Not for skiing but used at our lake: Copperbackrattlemoccassin noun - used to describe any snake. Example: Ahh! There's a copperbackrattlemoccassin! Choot him boy!
  7. I laughed when I read the title. Mostly, due to the ideas I had in my mind for "power shorts". Matter of fact, I may take a sharpie and customize some boxers and see if my wife is interested in a "Goode time."
  8. I'm not a jumper. But, it would have been awesome if he could have rotated just a little more and landed that one.....
  9. Chuck doesn't acknowledge the gates. He gets credit, nobody judges Chuck Norris.
  10. I'm calling BS @Than_Bogan... Ain't no way a self proclaimed MIT slalom addict nerd didn't inspect every loop and inch of that rope to determine the issue prior to posting. Much less 24 hrs later. Did "The Man" get to you? Fight the power Bogan! All kidding aside, it does suck when you figure out your $90 rope is a cheater. Seriously, how much extra would it cost to buy one that is accurate upon delivery...
  11. I use the Pro Locks and love them. However, I didn't like them until I took the dowel out. You might want to try that. Also, my back up pair is 41 tails. The strap is aggravating. Have to fix it after almost every start.
  12. Lately, 15 sec is more than enough. No need to speed up. The ride just ends quicker...
  13. @Taperflex has a bar at his site called "the Seventh Buoy". It has buoys, classic skis and a couple of handles. Frankly, this year we should have worked on a Drinking Team. The skiing has been rough...
  14. I like the concept. As far as the record book goes, it might sound wierd but what would be wrong with a record at 42 for a while. We would just have two records for a while. I know the pursuit of the first 41@ 34 was a big deal and generated a lot of buzz. I would imagine that the first 42 would be the same way. The long term issue is how do you score the old 2@43. A revised bouy chart would score it as 2@42. It would look they had opted up. I guess there would be a note just like the old records at the higher speeds... I wonder what the guys that have a real shot at the WR would think about it?
  15. Early 90's Kidder Prolink only saw one while at Auburn.
  16. I'm sure one of you know the scoop. Sounds like we can look forward to closed loop cooling...
  17. Hate to see it come down to gates and rankings...
  18. Plans fell through, but I appreciate all of the help.
  19. I will check into Delray beach. It will be me 3rd set since October. I'm going to pass on Chet this time. Just looking for a spring set or two. I appreciate the advice @rok
  20. I may get to fly in on 3/13 and out on 3/15. Any advice on where to stay or how to catch a set?
  21. @jdarwin tried it with little luck, but I do appreciate the thought. I'm trying to get my ski time up before I come try that ski. I trust all is well.
  22. Besides the USA Waterski site, is there a list of Baller friendly ski sites anywhere? I travel a couple of weeks a month. It would be great if I could catch a resonably priced set while on the road occasionally. I can bring cash, drive the boat, clean the boat.... For example, I'm headed to Tampa next week. Anyone know a place to catch a set?
  23. @mattp - that's my question too. I'm excited about the concept. I'm wondering if they patented the fin block that creates rocker due to it's shape. I hope they didn't patent rocker in a location.
  24. Yes, this could bring out the panda.... I should admit I have a TXI with several options. Only because the base boat cost much more than I cared to spend for a base boat. If your going to be in a boat for that kind of money you should have something to show for it. Option 1: 1. Needs capability to add options after initial sale at or near original option price. Ship me the additional interior/stuff, I will install. I agree with @jdarwin 2. Limited electronics. ZO, fuel, temp, pressure, hrs. 3. No dash for increased visibility. No need do to reduced electronics. Key start. 4. Open bow with step over dash but with a solid deck. Basically, I want to "snap in" cushions if needed. Otherwise, elevated textured floor. Basically, it's my LXI with the center cushion in, only with a solid fiberglass floor no storage. This would allow for ski storage under the bow(under the seats), access behind observer seat like closed bow. not sure if that makes sense... 5. Nice driver's seat and observer seat. One color. 6. Maximize ski locker/trunk. 6. Other than above, no other vinyl require. 7. Solid motor 8. Minimal fuel tank. Max 15 gallons. 9. Solid color boat. Mine would be white and wrapped upon delivery. 10. Malibu type pylon 11. Bimini top 12. Durable but light platform. There's got to be a better material than fiberglass. 13. No carpet. Just give me something that has texture. 14. $35k. One catch, limited production run for manufacture. This boat is in production Nov/Dec only. Option 2: 1. Needs capability to add options after initial sale at or near original option price. 2. Traditional dash. Key start. 3. Carbon composite hull. 4. Closed bow, size around a 196, 190 or sportster. 5. Nice driver's seat, basic observer'seat. 6. Maximize ski locker/trunk, carbon lid. 6. Other than above, no other vinyl require. 7. Turbo 6 reduce weight. 8. Minimal fuel tank. Max 15 gallons. 9. Malibu type pylon 10. Bimini top 11. Carbon motor cover and platform. 12. Light weight carpet.
  25. Not sure if this works for others, but I build my goals around the fundamentals that I think I need: Average skiing 6 sets a week March - October. Run 6 successful passes in a row at 22 and 28 Run 22, 28, 32 off the dock 10 times Post a tournament score into 35
