  1. @Brady That's funny. almost as good as the "That's the best darn deep water start you've had today." comment I got earlier this year. It was in regards to the problem I had started way earlier in the pass than were I failed.
  2. @RAWski Have always used the straps to keep the water out. These things have to stretch over your feet so for me they are "loose" around the leg.
  3. Regardless of angle it is interesting to see how far the handle moves down course. It would seem that if you want to reduce this effect you have to go East West faster. ie have a sharper tangent angle to the rope arc behind the boat. ie start higher up on the boat? ?????
  4. Saw a really (stupid to me) odd sport on one of the sports channels. It was volleyball played by soccer people. If someone can watch that then water skiing should be easy to cover.
  5. Ah grasshopper understand now.
  6. I am intrigued by the bungee idea. I can honestly say I have no idea what you are doing from the explanation. The pictures will quell my curiosity as I to worry about the intelligence required to put a sports tube that you just undid back together.
  7. I have a 07 with DBW Stargazer and z-box. I also ski behind a 2012 Nautique with ZO. Both systems are set at C1 and I am trying to get through 28off at 34 MPH. I am not a good enough skier to be able to tell the difference in the pull characteristics between the 2 boats. Certainly not enough difference in the pull characteristics for me to want to pony up the extra money to put ZO in my boat. I spent a lot of time and effort getting Stargazer dialed in (see my thread about this on this form) but after that things for me are fine. The throttle versus DBW issues have been discussed at length in this forum so that part of the egn should be fixable. As everything in life I can only tell you what I have experienced and thus let you judge the relevance to your situation. Trying to save you money is all this advice is trying to address. BTW Do 04 Responses have throttle linkage set-up for PP? If so how does this get replaced with an ECM? I had an o5 Gekko that was throttle PP so don't know about Malibu's of that age. Also from the link above @Markchilcutt posted in there: "There are no calibrations for any 2006 Malibu Boats for the E Controls ECM. Although 2006 boats had MEFI 5 and DBW there does not seem to be the will to release an ECM for this model year. I guess if enough people created the demmand it could be done. Zero Off needs an E Controls ECM,CAN wiring from engine to dash, Drive by Wire Throttle and the ECM calibrations to run the boat." To me this all sounds like lots of money. Hopefully you can find out it's not if that's the route you decide to go.
  8. Lot less coin for PP Stargazer with z-box. If you have to have ZO then I would bet it would cost a lot. We had an owner of an 08 at the lake do the conversion himself I am think it was between $1500 to $3000 and his was already a DBW.
  9. I'll 2nd the Quarry. Skied with @Chuck_Dickey and some others there and they were all great folks. Also met the owner (Beckey?) of the ski Nautic (I think) dealership in Corona out here in a memorial tournament here in Colorado. Small world. I had a chance to ski Canyon and it was also great. BTW @Chuck_Dickey Were are you going to call a home ski site now?
  10. Being English the real story is "Irish Olympic swimming trials". I'm thinking only those on the East side of the pond will get this.
  11. @skibumm I have the pp with z-box. There is a thread here on BOS were I purposely ran diagonally through the entrance gates (mapped course) and out to free ski. The whole system worked as if there was a course going in that direction. Point of this is that when you go through were you say the course starts PP just times a course. This was in both practice and tournament mode. For free skiing I would guess that it would react as it does in the course it just wouldn't give you buoy times if you didn't super-impose a course on it. This is kind of confirmed if you really honk on the handle in your pull out the boat reacts and there you haven't got to the course yet.
  12. @bishop8950 Is @Hortons boat out at Laku here in Colorado? The picture certainly doesn't look like his lake.
  13. @Horton I appreciate the reviews that you do as it allows a real world comparison of the products out there that most of us will never have the time or money to go through.
  14. Didn't mean to hi-jack. Just didn't have the will power to ignore the opening. From everyone I know that has seen or tried the warp it seems to impress. Even the price. @Horton I can't believe you haven't been hooked into that vid.
  15. Sometimes between the lines is were some of us are at. 7 red perpendicular lines to be exact.
  16. We had a guy at our lake try the warp a few years ago. His comment was "This ski is frighteningly fast across course." From what I saw the ski itself was a real work of art.
  17. @thager Glad to see you guys are getting good weather and can ski again.
  18. Just to stir the pot. "What a small horse." I may be on the way to getting banned also. My will power to resist the comment was just not up to it.
  19. @OB So does that legally preclude you and a couple of friends from using the lake to ski if you have a boat and are not technically a ski club?
  20. So now we know were in "Europe" Andy went. Although as most people will tell you England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland are not really part of the Continentals (Europeans to everyone else).
  21. Welcome Keith. Were be that? I think for conditions that nice the car would have loaned it's battery.
  22. @rawly Congrats on the 35's. Still working the video. I have not seen the original video owner to ask about posting. He may be back in Colorado this weekend though. Have fun behind the Horturion.
  23. Thanks guys I was just back from being out of the country and just wondered.
  24. Just wondering if the video of this ever came out?
  25. Gallagher well done As someone said to me about my daughters. "She must have your wives good looks. Thank goodness because she don't look like you she's beautiful. "
