    @nzcabbage, I found a jump and slalom course on Lake Karapiro on Google earth. However that doesn't look like were the picture was taken. Is the backwater lagoon oft to the north East?

    Never been able to as it was fae easier and more fun to ski with @pq2. However if you do a thread search for Cancun you will find several references to @pq2 and his support of fellow ballers down there. I have not seen him post in a while but if he is still skiing I am sure he will chime in. I may have to go down to Club Med since they have skiing right at the resort.

    Maybe if I set the turn on speed to 40 MPH I wouldn't see how bad I ski?

    BallOfSpray has provided all of the skiing contacts that will welcome a Wally skier like me. This along with the goggle earth ski site overlay has been invaluable.

    It worked really well on my Samsung phone. However it didn't make my skiing look anywhere near good.

    A big thank-you to @rawly @Wolfeie @Horton Charlie and Todd for the hospitality in Bako last weekend. The sites there are assume and the guys there are really great skiers and were very gracious and didn't laugh to hard at my terrible skiing. Thanks again I had a great time.

    Thanks guys I won't bring the wet suit and will bring trunks. Looking forward to skiing with you guys out there.

    Can anybody post the air and water temps in Bakersfield? Trying to figure out what gear to bring.

    Thats the one. When you buy a dry suit they include 2 ankle straps that are velcro straps that loop around the bottom of the leggings to stop them from rolling up. Don't know were you can get them seperately. You can get strips of wide Velcro at Home depot and make your own also,

    Both @Chuck_Dickey and I posted in another thread that we use the dry suit ankle straps to stop this from happening. Works really well unless you face plant and get a lot of water down the neck. Then the strap doesn't let the water our. Moral of the story don't crash.

    I also think this is great. Would like to go but have plans to be in Bakersfield that weekend to ski. Unless of course they all go to Gilbert B)

    10,000 buoys in a year ! I think I am doing well if I can get 500. I am as they said in Wayne's World "I am not worthy". My status here needs to be changed to really really rank beginner.

    Number is now 20 for the 15 required.

    Been at both ends of the weight range. Lighter just skis better. Wish I was lighter.
