  1. @Dacon62 I believe that if you have magnets and don't use GPS mode then mapping is not needed The mapping is there to tell PP in GPS mode were the start of the course is for each direction. If you go through the gates at a angle such that you don't go through the course PP GPS will infer a course along the straight line you are travelling. Try it if your lake is wide enough you will get 6 beeps and then OK for the perfect time without going through the course. If you use PP classic I don't believe GPS comes into play. It is hard for me to verify as we have magnets in the course for the other boats that don't have GPS type systems and classic uses these.
  2. We normally can surf behind without the rope. I hadn’t surfed in 2 years and was just seeing about the effect of the wave shaper without a weighted side. I am sure if we spent more time tuning the wave it would sharpen up. BTW this was with only 2 people in the boat and 1 700 lb fat sac. For the skiers at our lake this is wake enough. BTW 11.5 mph seems to be the best speed for our set-up
  3. @6balls Here is a picture of me Wakesurfing behind my Hammerheaded 2007 LXI with a surf gate. Plenty of surf wake. The picture was taken with the wedge down and a fat sack in the rear. No need to weight one side of the boat when using the surf gate. This was the 1st attempt with the surf gate it was to cold to tune the wave that day but definitely plenty of surf potential for a ski tug.
  4. We had a boat here at the lake that if you took off before GPS lock then the speed was all messed up. Never had the boat stop because of no GPS data. I thought the GPS data was used by PP to help control the speed not actually turn off the engine or the boat come to a stop.
  5. got one ordered.
  6. Just an FYI, This weekend tried the CS/CR rpm reduction on another members boat to try to get it to stop overshooting when the throttle is hammered. We wanted to reduce the rpm of the take over point. Found out that changing it between passes is not a good thing. The boat surged and slowed through the majority of the pass. Powered down and powered back up and everything good to go. Take up point reduced and overshoot almost gone. So if you dork the ctrl settings power off and power down. This seems to reload the tables.
  7. @eleeski I found that stargazer took a lot of dialling in to get consistency. See my thread about stargazer believe wonky. Ignore all the exhaust stuff and see what I had to do to get Stargazer and then z-box dialled in. I suspect most people have not/will not go through the same effort. http://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/comment/92633
  8. @skibrain Oops my bad the green didn't look right to me. I think we use to have a lake member that have an older Malibu with that upholstery pattern. BTW appropriate toast to the end of season.
  9. @skibrain did you mouch a ride in a Mastercraft? That interior looks similar to my ski buddy's boat.
  10. Oct 25th 3pm Pueblo CO. Terrible conditions but my ski partner and I skied anyway.
  11. Thanks everyone I have been in contact with Robby and all is good. Hope to ski there someday.
  12. Thanks everyone. @cragginshred I hope it wasn't the size I need :) @Timosavornin will pm for info.
  13. Sent a pm to @waterskigirl last week and no response. Went to the Robbys web site and am unable to submit question because the submission form does not work. Are they still around?
  14. Depends on the weather. We have skied as late as Dec.22nd before. The lake turned solid the next day. The lake is in the 60's now and we have kept going down into the low 40's before. I probably will not go past the 50's now as I would rather take a Florida or Cali trip. Guessing it will be mid Nov this year. Not so dedicated as I use to be.
  15. We are still skiing in Pueblo if you have to feed the addiction.
  16. No because one of the isle's in the pharmacist area might also be confusing for him, Ribbed, double tipped, X-small etc. I know it confuses me.
  17. In Pueblo this morning. Air was a little cold early (42 degrees) The water was 57 degrees so waited for the mist to clear and the air to warm up to 60.
  18. A sleep deprived painted 5@38 @Horton is a happy Horton. Hopefully the painted part does not get to the full body paint that others like, Feddy Winter will have magazine picture competition.
  19. No this was once I got back to Colorado and tried another type of ski >:) B)
  20. One other note it was suggested that I might try another ski because of the speed I was running. I did get a new ski and tried a different speed but I am not sure I fully understood what @Horton meant. However here is a photo of the new set-up. This is just to upset John and maybe earn a panda.
  21. Also need to Thank @horton and @rico for the hospitality on Thursday. The Bumble Bee is fantastic to ski behind. However you need to pay attention as you go around the island or you will be doing another deep water start. BTW Thanks for not laughing to hard John.
  22. I have to send out a big thank-you to @rawly and Donnie for letting my ski buddy and myself get some sets with them last Weds at ski west village in Bako. As you can see the conditions were very difficult.
  23. BOS has been a great resource for getting sets in around the country. Thank-you Horton and I will get to Bako to ski behind the Bumblebee.
  24. I hope someone finds these boats. Since as the thread title states this thread has gone the same way.
