  1. Surely he meant $5 right? I wouldn't let anybody even see that near my dock
  2. I have subscribed for many years and look forward to reading it every time it comes
  3. I agree, MC has a new slalom machine in the works. Pros are lurking in Tennessee as we speak
  4. Mac, I'm running a 2003 MC TT197 with the LQ-9 motor. I have SG set to inverted. Ed, thanks a million. I will give it a shot today
  5. Fantastic advice, thank you all! The issue has been discussed here before, I was trying the advice of another baller to try and prevent a fast gate and one ball that won't go away. I'm literally running 36 at the gates on a 34mph pass. This causes the whole first segment to be fast, and then the system overcompensates for it by running 33'ish during the second segment. I understand the boat needs to be a little hot into the gates because the skier will pull it down, but mine is a bit beyond whats tolerable. I'll try both of these and see what happens
  6. Can any of you describe the steps necessary to manually lower the RPM baseline in Stargazer? I want to take a few hundred rpm out to prevent excess speed at the gates and one ball, but can't figure out how to do it. Thx in advance!!
  7. How much does it cost to have skin added back to your feet after the thrusters peel it off?
  8. Well who is it if it isn't Karina?
  9. I had serious back injuries last year. I thought I was in shape, running and lifting 3 or 4 days a week. But the reality was, I wasn't working out right, in a way that benefited my sport. I spent a few bucks and hired Marcus Browns girlfriend, Jenny LaBaw, to assist me in my condition. She is a fantastic trainer and she does it all online for $75 a month approx. The workouts she gave me were meant to make me a better skier, and for the first season ever, I never had a single back issue, no pain, no problems. She had me doing a ridiculous amount of core, inclusive of numerous deadlifts, both one legged (for balance), and two legged for core and hamstrings. I had my best season of my life. In addition to the core work, she spent a considerable amount of time on leg strength, both squats, lunges, box jumps, etc. She is fantastic! I highly recommend her for any skier.
  10. Uhhh, pull it out! Wait, what are we talking about?
  11. Dirt, I have the same problem mentioned above with SG. When I lower the baseline, it comes in to the gates at a better speed but then it gases at three. What do you mean when you say "if you dont drive it right or if it is not set up correctly?" most of us at this point know how to drive as well as the idiosyncrasies of getting a skier out of the water without trying to overshoot the throttle. Am I missing something in that statement because I'm struggling with SG at the moment?
  12. 1.5 @ 41 for Regina in round 2! Awesome skiing
  13. Lakes of Katy - currently 63 degrees at 6:30am with a high today of 88. Light winds 10-15mph out of the SE by mid-day. Great day ahead, hoping for some great skiing.
  14. Jipster, Many thx! That's what I was hoping to hear. Light at the end of the tunnel, that's all I need!
  15. 6Balls, you nailed it! Torn rotator cuff. Any ballers had this problem? I'm very curious what the recovery was like, and ultimately if I have enough recovery time to ski at a high level next season..I really appreciate any thoughts on the subject
  16. Ended my season this week in a lean-lock scenario while running what felt like a smooth easy 28. Went out the front right behind the boat and can't lift my right arm at all unless I use my left arm to lift it. I've never had a real ski injury that wasnt just a nag. I knew this one was the real deal the second it happened. Frustrating! But at least it happened at the end of the season
  17. I'm skiing in the class C as well. I'm hoping home field advantage gives me a few extra buoys, but not counting on it
  18. Kelvin, Let's synch up on Ball of Spray coverage of the Katy Ski Jam. Between the two of us, I think we can cover Ball of Scores & Twitter feeds as needed to keep everybody on this site happy. Let's chat soon Regards Daryn
  19. I understand the dilemma but personally believe buckets will take away from the open discussion format. I also think you will end up with a single bucket for which everyone will speak as they are today.
  20. I switched from RS1 to Strada at the beginning of the season, and after my first set on the Strada I never looked back. The switch was VERY easy, and I made a lot of progress this year. The Strada in my opinion is a much more forgiving ski. The RS1 was nice but if you weren't in perfect position, it was tough to recover, and it would dump you in the drink, just very finicky. Go with the Strada, fantastic ski!
  21. I think there is truth in both answers. A one handed gate requires a later pull-out and allows width with a short pull out by design. Two handed gate speed is easiest to moderate through a slower more controlled pull-out. But optimally a perfect gate is achieved with either approach when the skier doesn't pick up the majority of the load from the boat until they are at or just before the whitewater.
  22. My offseason is generally devoted to getting in to the best shape possible for the start of next ski season. The problem is, I work my tail off to try and get in great shape every winter, and then my skiiing is never all that great. It doesn't change how much I enjoy it, and I do stay injury free, I just can't seem to get consistent. This begs the obivous question, why do I spend so much time in the gym if it isn't helping my skiing? Two possible answers to that question: Its possible I would be a HORRIBLE skier if I didn't stay in shape.....OR, I could stop working out because it isn't helping and see if I improve. The latter seems like the path of least resistance, I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers to getting fat this winter!
