  1. @Chef23 I understand that he was poking fun at himself, it was just my way of saying thank you.
  2. @Than_Bogan "Based on my skiing this weekend (at the easiest site ever, no less), it is obvious I am entirely unqualified to give anyone any advice about skiing." I think, I would disagree with your statement above. Thank you for the time and dedication you put into this sport. I am fairly new to the sport and a lot of the things you have said on this website and in your article have helped me understand what others are trying to say/teach. Thank you!
  3. Now that I thought about it, you could probably remove the block (or cleat not sure what it's called) off the old boot and put it on the new boot.
  4. I would call or email reflex, I think that the 500 release uses a different block on the back of the boot. You might be able to order an old block for a new boot
  5. @sunvalleylaw Drive down to Burley and take a Moomba Outback for a test drive, not a bad boat and it's significantly less in price. I'm sure they would let you ski behind one if you were interested. They also carry malibus and can get any of their used inventory from their boise store (IdahoWaterSports) also.
  6. @Taelan28 I think the problem is that you try to answer a question when you have no clue on the answer. When someone asks a question they're looking for an answer from someone with experience, not some random thought from someone that has no clue about what they are talking about. Also, you don't think before you type, you have insulted many ballers multiple times. I think there is a good reason you have 188 dislikes and 10 off topics. I'm not trying to be rude, but I think your posts annoy a large number of the active members on this site.
  7. I made the same thing as Ed but added an attachment with a shut-off valve to utilize my air compressor. I could fill a buoy in under a minute.

  9. I'm still interested, if jipster doesn't take it.
  10. @ski4xtc - Just ordered one, thanks
  11. I'd take it also, but it looks like I'm a little late.
  12. I agree with brent. I've bought a few HO's from costco cheap.
  13. My Trakker, the newest one, came with a bunch of plastic bushing to go between the trakker and the pylon. Use one of those before you go metal to metal. I think it came with a thin one. I don't remember for sure if the plastic bushings are for tapered pylons only. So maybe they won't work for you.
  14. @teammalibu does it look scary because the right foot forward grip has two right hands?
  15. I also would like to see your first attempt in the course.
  16. how was the water? I use mine only when the water is relatively good. If it's a choppy, the video sucks. Works flawless on glass. My only problem is if I crash with the handle under load, my camera goes blurry and won't refocus .The only way to fix it is to turn the camera off then on again. I use a Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti video camera. I seem to remember being to told to get a camera with a flash drive or maybe flash memory to help the vibration.
  17. Video is good, says something like "left-foot-forward skiers with right palm will be facing up." That makes more sence than "left-foot-forward skiers ski with their right hand on top of the handle."
  18. Maybe - but I've never heard of instructions with the handle being vertical, unless you're comparing it to griping a baseball bat. It seems that the only time the handle is vertical, is when you are holding it with one hand. I still think it's a misprint or very misleading.
  19. On page 69 question 5. it asks, "How important is it to switch my grip to the standard hand on top?" Then it answers, "As a rule, left-foot-forward skiers ski with their right hand on top of the handle and vice versa for righties. However, a handful of top skiers abandoned this rule and enjoy great success . . ." Am I reading this correct? Are they saying that I, being a left-foot-forward skier, should hold the handle with my right hand on top (fingers on bottom)and my left hand on bottom (fingers on top)? I seem to have been taught the other way around, left-foot-forward and left hand on top, and it seems all the pics in their mag agree with the way I was taught. I'm thinking I'm either reading it wrong or it's a misprint.
  20. The vented do let a little water in. But, the vent helps displace the pressure between the ear plug and the eardrum. You can still blow an eardrum if you slap the water hard enough with a non-vented plug. As stated above you can still blow an eardrum with a vented plug too. The vent is to help dampen pressure spikes between the drum and plug. I think anyway. @usaski1 I bought some little blue ear plugs at walgreens that are made to remove water. They work pretty good. U just role them up, stick them your ear, wait a few minutes and they help soak up the water. They work for me when needed.
  21. @jhughes are you using the vented proplugs?
  22. I blew an eardrum last summer and now I use Doc's proplugs, they are also vented. I purchased a variety pack of four different sizes for $30 so I didn't have to guess on a size. you can also get them with a leash. I did not notice much interference with my hearing compared to the moldable silicon earplugs. They are pretty thin compared to those pictured above in the previous post. Also you have to look really hard to notice if someone is wearing them. proplugs dot com is their website
  23. I dont have small narrow feet and I prefer the silver liners.
