  1. My sister just bought a 65" senate C with vector feather frame front binding and adjustable rtp. Does anyone have binding measurement #'s so I an help her set it up? Is there seam to measure to no the vector like there is on the strada boot?
  2. Nothing yet. I find various parts online from time to time but it seems like unless you find an almost complete system you might as well buy new. And if I want to upgrade to GPS at any time then you really have to find a good deal on the used system to make the numbers work.
  3. Yea I think you're right. By the time you buy the missing parts to make a complete system it probably costs the same as buying new. Thanks.
  4. If I were going to try to piece together a perfect pass system (mechanical and probably non-stargazer for now), can someone list what the various components would be...and what problems would I encounter with trying to do it this way? I realize this isn't the best way to do this, but I'd at least like to understand what the various parts needed are. Thanks.
  5. Goode skier. Do you know if that system would work on a 1998 malibu? Do you know what else I'd need to buy to have a complete system? Thanks.
  6. Can a dbw unit be converted to a mechanical since the mechanical version is hard to find and is expensive new compared to the used ones available?
  7. Could it be upgraded to stargazer at some point or are they completely different parts? I get that it isn't perfect. If I could drive myself I wouldn't need it. When my wife drives me I could be anywhere from 32 to 37 (yes she is still learning). I would get to ski more often if she could just have to steer for the most part. Thoughts?
  8. I'm not currently skiing tourneys. I just want something that will help some I'd the drivers in our group pull me more consistently. Sounds like that might at least help. How close would you estimate the times to be. Some of our drivers I am sure have me off by at least a half mile an hour so I could at least get close I'd be happy. Any ideas on where a used unit could be found. What happens to boats that get totaled for insurance? Seems like there would be a market for parts from those boats.
  9. Goode skier. What parts do you have? I need it for a 98 Malibu echelon (mechanical throttle). Thanks.
  10. I was at the boat show last year and talking with a malibu rep (a well known skier in florida with a ski school) who said that malibu's still come stock with a basic rpm lock speed control system. He said that while Zero off is great, and obviously required if you are skiing tournaments at a high level, the basic rpm lock works pretty darn well if you are a decent course skier not competing all that much. I realize perfect pass cruise is intended for recreational purposes only, but I am wondering how it could compare to having a less than great driver. the cost is a lot less and if it got me pretty close to real times I would be okay with it. I typically ski into 32 off at 36 mph and will run 35 off at 34 a handful of times each summer. Never anything much beyond that yet. I can't justfiy spending the $ to get PP stargazer right now unless I find one that is used for a mechanical throttle. Any comments?
  11. What year did they start making dbw? If it is before that year then am I safe that it is mechanical? Any tips on where to find a used unit? Have the mechanical units changed much since they started making the dbw option?
  12. How do I know what model, version, etc to look for and does anyone have tips for what to know I buying used?
  13. can someone tell me what options I have to add speed control to my 1998 malibu echelon? I think it is a Gen II monsoon engine. Upgrading the boat is not an option, so I would need to deal with whatever options (if any) are workable on that boat. Thanks.
  14. I need some input on a ski for my sister. I asked this question last year, but since she didnt buy a ski in the fall I figured I should ask it again. she is 35 years old; 5"7" probably 135lbs. she skis up to 32 mph 15 off, though I think she will get back into 34mph 15/22 pretty soon. She is probably going to buy a used ski on ski it again or some kind of closeout, so demoing the skis is probably not an option. I hear D3's are great for women. If so, why....which model...and which length. Otherwise I am wondering what people would think about a 65" radar lyric or even a radar senate...thoughts? She is on a very old 66" HO VTM right now. Thanks in advance!!
  15. I read a lot of great articles and posts on here about how to do things right. So how about some tips about what to do when I’m half way through the course and have already screwed things up. What should we do when we are late…or for me, when I get stood up at the buoy and lose my speed and rhythm? I’d love to hear some thoughts about what to do when your rhythm is off and out of position, yet still on your ski and in position to possibly run the pass.
  16. How about glow in the dark spray paint. I think they make some that recharge with light. I've never tried it, but now I'm interested. Days are getting shorter for sure and after work runs get hard in October and November.
  17. I just bought a 65" of this ski on Radar's closeout page for $89 for my wife, and now I'm trying to find a 71" of the same model for my friend who is a big guy (6'6" 285 lbs). Anyone know where I can help him find one (new or used)? He doesn't want to spend a ton and this seemed like it would fit the bill. Thanks.
  18. Cory Pickos' in Santa Rosa Beach Florida is awesome and the weather/area are amazing in the late summer/early fall.
  19. Would someone respond to or re-post ShaneH's thread on tip rise from bindings too far forward? I don't see it and it would be a good read. Thanks.
  20. I found out I have my strada set up wrong...going to fix that tonight. My dad has a 2011 67" Senate C with a front vector and RTP. Does anyone know how this ski should be set up...with detailed instructions as to where to measure to on the boot since I obviously screwed mine up two years ago. Thanks.
  21. This is the best news I've heard all day! Finally I might be able to blame some of my poor skiing on something other than bad technique. Can't wait to get home and try it out. This site is great!!! I feel pretty stupid for skiing on it with the wrong set up for the last two seasons though. Thanks.
  22. Okay--thanks. Do you think moving the binding back is going to cause more tip rise issues...or i maybe that is just an issue with technique and not related to binding position?
  23. So I posted yesterday thinking I had my strada binding in the wrong place (2010 66” strada). Turns out it is right at 28.75 from the back of the ski to the back of the boot, so I think it is right. What confuses me is why it would need to be at the very back holes if this is standard. I was told by Radar that their stock position is the middle holes and then adjust from there. That would seem to put the boot way too far back. I love how the ski feels, but the reason I started wondering is that I seem to have a lot of tip rise as I am in the middle of my pull...kind of right as I am approaching the first wake. I don’t have an issue with it at the buoys. I’ll try to get some video posted but I don’t have any right now. I’d like to be able to rule out that it isn’t at all related to my binding set up. I think I have the binding as far forward as the plate will allow currently, so I can’t imagine that would be the problem with the tip rise (probably just something I'm doing wrong), but I thought I’d throw it out there anyway. I am going to try to post a pic of my binding set up and would appreciate any comments others on the same ski might have. Thanks.
  24. I'm a little slow...would you explain where I measure to and from?
  25. I have e-mailed several people on ski it again over the last month and have not gotten a single response from anyone. Has anyone else had issues with not getting a response from ski it again?
