  1. I have a 2010 66" strada, front left strada RTP. I have been skiing it for two years and love it. I tried moving the RTP back one hole to get more leverage. It was okay, but didn't feel great. It got me wondering if I set the front boot up in the right place two years ago. It is as far back as the plate will allow, which was right where I had the bindings set on my old ski. That may not have been the right way to decide where the boot should go. Again, it felt great how I had it set up the last two seasons, but I am wondering if maybe it could be even better. Thoughts?
  2. What size kevlar liners should I get? I wear a large 41 tail.
  3. I bought my wife a P-6 direct from Radar...thanks for all the input last week. I need to find a front boot and RTP to fit that ski. I may just buy her new bindings, but if anyone has bindings that woudl fit that ski that they want to sell, please let me know. She is a women's size 7. Thanks.
  4. where are the junior weight ropes sold? recommendations on a good one?
  5. I haven't used clinchers for 20 years. Are they any less safe in your opinion than traditional gloves?
  6. buski--which liners do you use? thanks.
  7. I currently have the 41 Tails. They have worked well and I think are just worn out at this point. I don't like the strap on the back of the palm as it comes loose a lot, but I like the kevlar palm. does anyone have any other suggestions about something that might be even better? Thanks.
  8. They can both get up on one on the VTR. I am worried that a p6 will be too wide for her to turn easily, but maybe that isn't going to be a problem. I found a good price on one that I would snatch up if I think it would be good for her. Does anyone know someone who has tried one in the course?
  9. What about this 2011 P-6? Would she want something better as soon as she got a little better or would she be okay on it for a while? Is it really not intended for more than 30mph? Would it be too big and wide for my 6 year old or maybe that is good? Thanks. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=16976
  10. How about either of these? she is 5'4 125 lbs and skiing at 24-26mph. I wouldn't mind upgrading again next year if she really gets into it. I just don't want to spend a lot and have her interest fizzle out. Thanks. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=19501 http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=19285
  11. Thanks. She is just learning to get up on one. She can run the mini course at about 24, but that is about all right now. Does she need a better ski now if this is where she is at?
  12. I am trying to find a mid-90's 66" HO VTX, VTR or VTM for my wife. She is just learning to slalom and has been on a 65" VTR which she likes. I'm going to put my daughter on the 65" so I need to find something to replace it with. I will also need to find a front medium binding. If anyone has one they'd be willing to part with please let me know. Thanks.
  13. Does anyone know what year ski this is (approximately)? Is it newer or older than the mid 90's Red aluminum top HO VTX? It looks older to me, but the guy selling it said he got it in 2000. Any help would be appreciated.
  14. I am trying to help my sister find a new ski. She is still skiing on an old HO (like a late 90's HO VTM) 66". I am on a 2010 Strada which I love, but it may be more ski than she wants, but I'll probably have her try it anyway. She skis 22 off 32 mph on a good day. I told her to look at the Radar Lyric but I really don't know much about it and it isn't made in a 66, which I expect she wont' like. She doesn't want to spend a fortune (probably not much more than $500 all in), and she would probably be open to buying something higher end used if it were the right ski to try to stay within budget. Any thoughts? Thanks.
  15. he hasn't re-jetted it yet, but I think he is planning to. I'm sure that would account for loss of power, but do you think it would cause the issue he is having with it not starting as well? thanks!
  16. My friend has an old supra and his having the following problem with his boat. He had experienced some fuel delivery issues (he thinks) that he thought he had sufficiently addressed. I'd love to be able to help him figure out what might be causing this problem. Thanks in advance for any help. Boat • 1986 Supra Comp ts6m • Ford 351 engine, 740 hrs • Holly carburetor - It's a 4 barrel, 600 CFM, Model 4160 marine carburetor. • 13 x 13 three blade prop Issue • Boat has recently been moved from MN at 950ft (White Bear Lake) to CO at 7788ft (Ruedi Reservior) • It was running fine after we did some work in MN where we replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and removed the anti-siphon valve from the gas tank. (it was dying of fuel starvation, apparently from a weak fuel pump) • We drove through 3/4 of a tank last weekend at Ruedi, and it died suddenly. When we tried re-starting it we ran into an occasional clicking, where the boat wouldn't even turn over. • When it did turn over it wouldn't fire unless we sprayed starter fluid directly into the carburetor. It would die again as soon as it burned through the starter fluid.
  17. I posted a few days ago about trying to find a Wiley's binding for my old ski to put my daughter on, but I am not so sure it will fit hte old HO hole pattern. Does anyone have an old xs, s, or m front binding for a mid 90's HO VTR (or any of ski of that line) that they would like to sell? Alternatively, if anyone has a 66" ski from that series I'd also be interested in looking at buying that ski for my wife. Thanks in advance.
  18. I need to find a front (and RTP if available) kids size Wiley's binding. Does anyone have or know someone with one they'd like to part with? Or if someone has another kids size binding (fixed or adjustable) that would be better than pulling off a crummy combo binding please let me know. Thanks!
  19. So with advice from some earlier posts, I am trying to figure out a ski set up for my 6 year old daughter. She is slaloming about 15mph and she weighs about 45 lbs. Some earlier posts said that I should put her on a 65” until she is skiing faster. I am trying to decide if I need to find her a junior specific ski, or if I can just put her on my old HO VTR that happens to be a 65”. Does it matter if it is not a “junior” slalom? I have access to a 63” HO VLX (I think) that I could put her on. Right now she is skiing on the junior vortex slalom, but it seems like the bindings are too far back on it, so I’d like to get her off that soon. Does anyone have a thought about where to find a used perhaps junior adjustable front binding and appropriately sized RTP? Thanks in advance for any thoughts
  20. Why not buy a used strada instead of a new vice? Lots of them out there and probably about the same price. I'm on a 2010 used strada I bought last season and I love it. Much lighter than the vice.
  21. We measured three ropes against each other a couple of weeks ago. Two of them were the generic ropes made by Overtons and one was mine (Accurate). I know...we need to buy better ropes, but the Overtons ropes were a full 2 feet longer than mine, and one of them was 6" longer than the other. Maybe you get 6" of stretching over time (to explain the difference between the same model handle), but no way do you get 2 feet. Has anyone else done this before? I was shocked that there could be that big a difference between ropes.
  22. I'd like whichever of the O'brien front boots is in better shape. I have a paypayl account if that works for payment and I'd be happy to pay the $15.45 to make it easy on you. I think you can PM me and get right to my e-mail...if not just post that you can't reach me and I'll give you my cell. Thanks.
  23. The insulation gets water logged if you leave it in the water for long periods of time and then sags in the middle. We had the same problem. Replace the foam inside with either pipe insulation from the hardware store, or in the alternative, rig up external flotation with noodles (probably on sale this time of year)...a little more work if you are putting it up and down often but easier to replace if you plan to leave it in most of the time.
  24. Is there something special about junior skis (smaller, lighter, etc.) or can I just find an older 65” ski (since that sounds like the right size for her to learn to get back and forth across the wakes on until she increases the speed/proficiency) for her to learn on. I remember learning as a small kid on my dad’s 67” HO and that seemed to work okay until I really figured out how to cut. I’m looking at a 65” CDX. Any thoughts? Too much ski? She just turned 6..about average size. Thanks
