  1. How about an inflated dome? They are tearing down the metrodome in Minneapolis as we speak.
  2. Who wants to be inside more than we have to be already? Retractable roof required I think.
  3. Does anyone have any comment on the ropes above? I know they are not as good as some others out there, but I've skied with an Accurate handle for several years without any complaints. I don't want to spend $150 on a handle and rope. I ski into 35 off on a good day...32 off fairly consistently (34mph).
  4. I have a 7 year old and 4 year old daughters. They both started at about age 3 on the boom and progressed from there. My 7 year old started droppping a ski when she was 5 and learned to get up on 1 at 6. By the end of this summer she was knocking down the mini course pretty easily and starting in on the real course at the end of the summer. I agree with fu_man. Encourage the heck out of them but don't push them if they don't want to go. My 4 year old was all gung ho early in the summer so I pushed her a little hard and then she didn't want to go very often for the rest of the year. I started my 7 year old on two skis in the mini course about as soon as she could get outside the wake. I let her just poke around at the buoys and if she didn't feel like going after them, so be it. When she was learning to slalom, I let her pick and if she wanted to ski on two she would. If she wanted to slalom, she would. She was still doing that at the beginning of this year from time to time. I think it helped her to be really solid on one when she finally gave up the other ski for good. It also helped to show her some videos of really amazing kid skiers like Drew Ross' daughter so she could see what elite kid skiers look like. I think the biggest thing is to always have it be fun, encourge them when they do something well, and push them to try something new when they show they want to do it. I guess the only other thing that worked for me is to not make things too intimidating or seem too complicated. We've gotten so many little kids up on one ski lately when they just go into it thinking it isn't that hard to do.
  5. So my six year old is getting up on a slalom and he is crossing the wake but not really cutting yet. Hopefully that comes soon. I'm wondering when I need to get her a junior weight rope? Is that to keep the rope from catching the wake? Recommendations on what to get? Thanks.
  6. Do others use sub buoys on the PVC arms rather than internal floatation? I think ours uses Pipe insulation which takes on water over time. What do others use?
  7. Until the post the other day I had never heard of the Jim Michaels scandal. That is crazy, but it made me laugh because a few years ago we accidentally had our ski buoys narrow on us. We ski a portable course but leave it in all year. Over time the floatation in the pvc was losing its buoyancy and slowly the pvc arm out to the skier buoy was sagging in the middle pulling the buoy in. Since it happened so slowly and we all ski on the same course only we didn't recognize what was happening, but man did we all keep getting better and better. What a good summer that was until we dropped a different portable course in and realized that we actually all still sucked at skiing. So if you are like us and use a portable course, don't forget to replace the internal floatation occasionally.
  8. I only ran it for 10 minutes and the engine was cold and the water temp is in the high 30's. I wonder if it was just cold and thick?
  9. Jody. Thanks. If the gauge turns out to be right does 65 sound like a problem?
  10. I finally it the boat in last night. Like every spring I worry I screwed something up. I have a 98 malibu echelon with the monsoon 325 hp efi engine. Does anyone know what the ideal range is for oil pressure? It was running at about 65 or even a little higher. That seems higher than I recall it being but who knows. It ran like a top so no indication of any problems. Can anyone set my mind at ease? Thanks.
  11. Lawyer. Estate, tax and business succession planning. Skiing is more fun.
  12. Does anyone have some used xxl bindings (front left amd rtp) they would want to sell? Ideally to fit a radar but open to others that could maybe modified as well. Xl might work too...size 13 . Thx.
  13. Thanks, Brady. Would you pm me if you found anything? He just needs bindings.
  14. Thanks. I saw that. He may go that route but I think he'd prefer to buy some used bindings cheaper if possible, but I'm not sure what would fit that ski.
  15. He bought a 2011 p6 from the radar closeout store for 119. Now he needs a front boot and rtp. Anyone have bindings that would fit this ski they would want to part with? He is a size 13 shoe. Thx.
  16. Has anyone skied am HO vengeance asx? My friend will not go beyond 30 mph 15 off for a long time and it is probably buy something old like this or just keep struggling on an even worse ski that is way too small for him. Thoughts?
  17. My friend needs to buy a used slalom. He is a big guy6'6" and 285. He doesn't have much to spend and wants to only spend $150 or so. Does anyone have an old 71 inch ski or larger with extra large binding and rtp they would want to sell. Old is fine it just needs to be big enough for him as he doesnt ski all that much. Thanks.
  18. I have a sandy bottom but 200 feet too move the lift out. I put a pulley on shore bought 350 foot cable and put the lift on wheels hook the cable to the lift up to shore through the pulley and then back out to the boat. Drive away the noat and the lift is up on shore. Use a winch on a pole to raise the lift to put wheels on. Very easy as long as the wind is calm.
  19. Face mask plus goggles help with cold air.
  20. I second the kill switch. If it is on make sure it's not shorting.
  21. Okay. What is the stock setting? 28.25 to back seam of front binding?
  22. Does anyone know the stock binding numbers for. 65" senate c with vector bindings or what hole the front binding should be for stock settings?
  23. Has anyone torn their Achilles or know someone who has at the ball when the balls are half filled with water to sink them?
  24. Congrats. I have two little girls 6 and 3. Started my now six year old at 3 and my now 3 year old at 2. My three year old has been practicing her form on our freezer handle in the kitchen since ahe could stand. It actually helped as she popped up first tine on the boom and skied all the way down the lake. You can push them but they have to like it. My oldest is fearless and asked to try barefooting at 4 and got up on a slalom at 5. My 3 year old is not as gong ho yet so ill just assess it as we go. It is incredible how fast they can progress at that age if they like it. Have fun. Nothing better.
