  1. Are there any alternative places to launch the boat? Albeit less convenient, it might be better than dealing with the lunacy at this launch.
  2. @vtjc looks like you can fit up to 6 port-o-potties in that boat.
  3. OK maybe not in Wisconsin....but I guess I was thinking any campus that has a ski team. Moving pro tournaments from out-of-the-way private ski lakes with little public access to more conspicuous public venues is a step worth pursuing. (No offense intended to Trophy Lakes....I don't know anything about their site.)
  4. The public access to the Milwaukee venue was awesome. I am not sure where all the college teams' ski site are. However, if there are some sites on/close to campus they should hold pro events there. Get the ski teams involved and market the event to the college kids. Cheap food, beer, a day by the lake watching the event. Young beau-hunks in trunks and ladies in bikinis....sounds like fun. Might draw a crowd of primarily young people that would help introduce them to the sport.
  5. Anyone notice the new Radar Neveu banner add on the side? Hilarious.
  6. Your gas looks like the album cover for Jar of Flies (that's by Alice in Chains for the younger folk).
  7. Awesome boat. The gas reminded me of the Alice in Chains album cover for Jar of Flies.
  8. @foxriverat A buddy of mine has one of those and we used it to move my lift. Works perfectly. It floats the lift on the rowboat without much effort at all. Pretty amazing. I tried searching for what the heck that thing is called but I couldn't find a trace.
  9. Hmmmm, If I were a kid would I rather learn to ski behind a 300+ HP inboard at speeds so slow the wake is bigger than me, falling and floating in the water for so long my lips are purple while my dad yells at me to keep my arms straight. OR In a nice warm swimming pool shaped like the state of Florida on a golf cart boom where there is no wake what-so-ever with other kids my age and three stunning ladies there to help me get up and when I fall.
  10. Wow. This thread is so old I didn't even remember starting it.
  11. Question: Does the dye in the lake affect your gel coat? Does the bottom of the boat turn blue?
  12. @OSUwaterskier Again...the Outback was tournament approved. I think many people here will generally not be interested in a boat unless it says Mastercraft, Nautique, or Malibu on the side....which is OK. But if that is the case there shouldn't be any complaining about price. Everyone wants a MasterBuTique new for 40-50k. That ain't happening. If people would rather buy a used MasterBuTique rather than a new "other option we wish was cheaper" because a perception that the MasterBuTique is better, than there really is no incentive to drive the market for a new cheaper option.
  13. I can't remember which brand I got. Maybe from a diving/surfing website? They work OK but as @ALPJr said they will not go into rubber Wileys. They fit nicely into my Radar Profile front. Its a little tricky jamming it into the RTP because I put the sandpaper stair-tread stuff in there so my foot doesn't slip. It is also a bit snug, but it works OK. If it is that cold you probably aren't going after a PB.
  14. That's a whole new perspective on heel-side vs toe-side turns.
  15. @eleeski Moomba Outback was tournament approved late 90's until 2008ish. By the way, from 2003 on these were decent boats. They fit the description for a cheaper tournament boat but they were meat and potatoes. No fancy appointments. Was the wake as soft as a Nautique? Probably not, but they were (are) more than adequate. Let's put it this way: if you are longer than -38 and you had trouble skiing behind one it was probably the skier and not the boat. Mine skis great and I have no problem going between it and any other brand.
  16. I have used Boat Bling products in the past with great results.
  17. My family and I will be down in Austin March 27-29. Interested in getting some sets if possible for me and my 13 y/o daughter. I am happy to fill the gas tank and I regularly drive slalom and trick if you need a pull.
  18. Its great for getting beginners out there and getting them some easy, early success. There are some basic skills that can be taught easily on the knee board that transfer to skiing. When my daughter was 10 she was calling for the knee boards quite frequently. I knee'd (Ha!...get it???) to get that thing out more this summer. Anyway, she was motivated to get out on the water and get behind the boat, she was gaining confidence, and she was having a lot of fun. These are all positive things. One of my work colleagues who knows I am a skier was telling me about the fun he had on his buddy's lake playing on the kneeboard, and he is in his early 30s.
  19. Your angle is all wrong. Chicks like wakeboarding and rap, not slalom and guitar....especially the younger ones.
  20. What?!? A band, with guitars, that writes their own stuff....and has a gig? I didn't think bands did that kind of stuff anymore. Keep it going man!
  21. Ford says they are re-introducing the Bronco in 2020.
  22. Of all the thread topics I thought possible on this website, I did not foresee this one.
  23. Arms straight. Don't pull with biceps.
  24. I learned the reason why I always fell on the backside of the ball was because I tend to lead with my head....not a good thing. (To prevent this I focused on keeping my outside shoulder down. Maybe some would call this counter rotation? Regardless, it prevented me from dipping my inside shoulder.) I also learned that the little bit of slack at -28 (which wasn't pretty but I was making it work) becomes a merciless back wrenching thrashing at -32. So I learned what makes a turn bad and I learned what makes it better. I also learned that I need to learn how to manage the rope better in the pre-turn. Finally, I learned that when kids' baseball schedules and high winds interfere with your course time you become a better trick skier.
