  1. "I’m wondering how long before we have school all year." Long after I retire; or never.
  2. @Jody_Seal I tried looking that up yesterday but couldn't find it in the rules...Is the 6 flip rule per pass or is it max 6 flips between both passes? My understanding it that you can do a trick on 2 skis and again on 1 ski. Wondering why more skiers don't do the same flips on one ski and repeat it again on two skis. It seems that this would push scores higher than doing a toe pass. Maybe I am missing something.
  3. I don't think you can heat mold Profiles. Only the liners in the Vapors. I have both types but I'm not sure if the Profiles have loosened up over time.
  4. Yes. In fact all links are acting weird. Before a link would just open in a new tab. Now I get a message box from BOS saying I am leaving the web site with the link inside. Happens on both Mac and PC at home and at work.
  5. I also appreciate the info from Joel about the ski design and philosophy. I find it more appealing than 30 seconds of footage of pro's skiing with background music that says nothing about the ski.
  6. I have an Eagle and am happy with it. Regardless of brand I would suggest a front zip rather than a pull-over. The pull-over type seem to wear faster as it gets stretched every time you pull it on and off.
  7. I saw this one at the sun frog website posted above. It is my new favorite t-shirt.
  8. I agree with @Chef23. I am a middle aged guy still adding tricks to my repertoire . I didn't start tricking until I was about 40 and am 1 reverse away from 1000 points. I would start with two. It opens the door for more tricks to learn. That way she can have a two ski pass and a one ski pass which means she can build point more quickly into her runs. Splits have never been an issue for me and are way less of an issue then catching an edge on one ski and slamming into the water. Besides, two ski passes are retro and cool.
  9. Jeez. That barefoot dude falls a second earlier and that bottle of beer goes right through his teeth, throat, spinal cord......
  10. .....more ballast than any other brand.
  11. I had a similar experience. Went from an older senate to the 2014? green vapor. I loved how fast the ski felt initially but it seemed "off". The ski seems pretty sensitive to fin settings. There are several lengthy threads on this forum regarding fin settings for that era vapor that I read multiple times...long/shallow, short/deep. Even though I prefer to set it and forget it, I spent the better part of a summer trying different settings.I experienced everything from ski not turning, to tail blowing out, to having the ski "hunting" when I rode it on a straight path. So frustrating. I finally happened upon a setting that works for me and I have been happy with it ever since. I started on that ski trying to consistently run -15, 34. Last weekend I got a practice PB. Slowed down to 33 and got around 5 ball at -32. Be patient with the process.
  12. @bmalec ....similar situation. We had a kid's plush horse that we would ride on a disc for jack-assery. The boat driver did not understand just how little gas you need to get going on the disc. Amazing how fast plush horses take on water.
  13. I had a small split and used this. It has kept it from worsening since 2013 and it is a highly trafficked piece of vinyl. Not a repair, but will keep it from splitting further.
  14. He wanted to get a closer look at all the shore erosion damage he was doing.
  15. Maybe this is helpful. Video is of skier dragging the foot as stated above.
  16. Even though I hold the rope as stated above, "Hands are not up for debate" is not gospel. Lucky Lowe and Jeff Rogers (both in the hall of fame) gripped the handle opposite of this. Lucky actually gave me a really good explanation for his grip. If you are shooting a rifle left foot forward, you would be gripping the gun with your left palm facing up. Also, if you were having a tug-of-war and you were pulling on a rope (like in skiing) with your left foot forward your left palm would be up.
  17. I always ask people how they skateboard or ride a scooter. Whichever foot stays on the "vehicle" goes in front, whichever you push with goes in the back. @PropofolDreams are you an anesthesiologist? Micheal Jackson fan? I got a kick out of the name....I used to be a pharmacist.
  18. @Fatroll Our lake is a similar size to yours. I am curious to know the relative cost of your project for set-up, maintenance, and utilities.

    Solo skiing

Weird. This seems like it would appeal to no one. It has a rack for your board but no room for you?!?! What is the sense in that? Wakes are small so no appeal to boarders. No girls in bikinis. Can't 3 event with it. I can imagine 3 irritated middle aged dudes on the shore waiting for the photo shoot to end so they can use their slalom course. "If you run over a buoy with that #$&% thing I'm going to ring your neck!"
  20. Don't listen to @Horton . I skied a mid 70s wood Connelly Hook a few weeks ago with the original binders. It actually skied pretty well. (I did go OTF and bang up my ribs a bit but that is beside the point. I blame the binders, not the ski.) Skis are meant to be skied, not to look at.
  21. I would bet that every person on this forum at some point has said "Wow....I suck".
  22. I'll be in the same boat next year......
