  1. I live in northern MN. and always ski into October. However this yr I had back problems in August and Sept and missed 3 1/2 wks of skiing. My last ski day was sept 21 and I had surgery on my hand on Oct 5th.I now have a cast for a month and rehab to follow. So for me not the best ski season......
  2. @The_MS Thanks for the offer. You have a beautiful place and if I were not so old I would of bought your neighbors place.Just had surgery on my right thumb and in a cast for a month and weeks of rehab. Also threw my back out and lost 3 1/2 wks of late summer MN skiing.I think my back injury was caused by the fall I took from that wake/surf boat. Its tough being 75 and having the parts wear out.Kee.p skiing you folks are in a great place......
  3. I really like the KD platinum ski and the price was certainly right.Maybe next yr I will try the titanium and compare the 2 skis.Maybe @The_MS will send me his ski to try.It would be a nice gesture to help out an old senior citizen make his day better......
  4. I think the big 3 newer boats are still way over priced........
  5. @Horton This summer I could pick up a 15 to 17 carbon pro with zo for way less then any MC 2014 OR NEWER BOAT......
  6. Probably a great boat for footin. We need someone to ski it and foot behind it.I don't think the barefoot mkt is that big. I am the only barefooter on my lake. And yes the CARBON PRO I THINK IS A GREAT BOAT YOU CAN BUY FOR LESS MONEY.The J-CRAFT would be a fabulous all around boat for a guy like me.Great wake for slalom and barefoot and ZERO MAINTENANCE!! And yes people would rather buy a used big 3 boat then the GEKKO GTR OR CARBON PRO........I think some of it was poor marketing.I bought my Gekko in 2001 and most people knew very little about the boat however once they skied it they were impressed.Same with the carbon pro that I owned......
  7. Yes they are custom boat builders and you canorder different things and colors.Go to their website and you tube and watch how they handle.I think they would do very well around turn islands.I think they drive like a sports car.....I would love to on one
  8. Here are some photos of a new J-CRAFT.Would like one with the 250HP Yamaha....Would be a fantastic boat for barefoot and slalom......
  9. @Hutch66I would only consider a new 21ss J-craft.I think it seems there is a big difference between the new and the old...........
  10. @Bruiser They do have a windshield however it is very low.I am sure other ones are available. The prices are in US $$....
  11. @Killer I have winterized my boats in the past however at 75 yrs young with 2 bad knees back and hands that need surgery it is tougher to do.Also have vertigo bad so that really kicks in when doing certain things.Cost of owning a DD is getting out of control for the average guy and I have owned many......
  12. @Killer For me at my old age and that I open water ski and grew up on outboards I would love to hav one. They have ZERO and I mean ZERO maintenance. My local MC dealer just charged me $1127.56 to winterize change oil filter and install a new impeller on the 08 MC PS 197.That is ridiculous and prices are going up every yr.I have had many DD boats since 1992 however right now would prefer the big outboard on a J-CRAFT.......
  13. @6balls Where is the 2020 boat you are talking about??
  14. @Andre The new ones are 21ft now and come with 250HP Yamahas. How would you compare the tracking when you skied one to that of any of the DD boats you skied? The new 21ft ss is suppose to track really well and has no wake........
  15. A new 2023 21ft j-craft with a 250HP Yamaha is $89,000 and a 2022 model is about 77,000.Boats look fantastic and would love to ski one......
  16. CK OUT J-CRAFT.COM. The new 21ss looks fantastic and would be great for footin and slalom. The new outboards require little or no maintenance for yrs.iT ALSO HAS PERFECT PASS......
  17. Sorry to hear this.Hope things work out for you I am sure they will.Never give up I am 75 yrs old with many issues and still going out everyday on the lake.Find a really good sports medicine DR and I am sure that will help.....GOOD LUCK
  18. Just looked at several videos of this boat and for us old outboard fans this one looks very interesting. Are they made in Canada and the big dealer is Gordon Bay Marine?Has anyone skied and or driven the new boat.I assume the cost is less then a new DD even with the 200HP YamahaAny info would be great. How do they compare to the Dyna-ski...
  19. The regulations in MN state that the operator of the boat is responsible for the wake however many surf wakes have damaged the railings on pontoons. One of the surf boat owners stated that maybe the old folks who drive pontoons should learn how to drive them.So now we have the retired folks against the younger surf boat owners. Our lake is very narrow and is not really designed for lots of any types of boats.I know lakes in the MPLS/ST PAUL area have started new regulations pertaining to these boats and their waves........The university of Minnesota did a study on the impact of the waves from surf boats and it was alarming what the waves do.The distance thrust amount of water put out.
  20. Ballers it finally happened on my lake.I live on a beautiful public lake in Northern Minnesota.I have owned the property since 1998 and retired here as my primary residence in 2001.I could always ski most anytime other then weekend days until 2020.The pandemic and civil unrest brought people to this lakes area in droves and all of the lots got sold. Its now difficult at night during the week to ski without having pontoons fishing boats and the wake/.surf boats out.Well Monday night just prior to sunset I tried to take a ski run.I had an IO and pontoon boat behind me waiting for me to go so I had the wife power up the old Gekko however unknown to me a large wake/surf boat was heading our direction from the north. The wave hit the boat so hard my dog flew off the observer seat and the pins for the motor box cover came out.My wife thought the boat slammed so hard that it was damaged.I am usually very balance on my ski and back in the day I could ride any waves barefoot however this wave took me down and I went head over and both feet came out of my bindings .I have a radar vector in the front and a Wiley high wrap in the rear and both are newer and tight. This fall was just as bad as many of my barefoot falls and I was seeing stars. It was nasty!! Our lake is not designed for these boats as its very narrow and now very crowded.I guess mornings are now the only time for skiing.......STILL RECOVERING FROM THAT DAMN FALL
  21. Several private man made ski lakes in Phoenix area.Ck out waterskiarizona.com and contact Susan Telarico she is a RE agent and lives on lakeside .....I am sure she can hook you up
  22. VERY STABLE SKI MANY KIDS START ON IT.........
  23. PRICE IS $200 AND I THINK IS A 2019 SKI.......
  24. I have a girls 63 RTA with small bindings that is in excellent condition. The young lady has now started skiing a bigger and newer ski.call Ron for further info....218-851-2801
