  1. @MitchellM If you buy from a dealer you will pay more for the boat and probably sales tax.On a high end boat that's a lot more money. You have to drive and ski the boats I think to make an informed decision that will work for you.If a $40 to $50k boat will satisfy your needs why buy one at 2 times or more of the cost.Even living in Florida how many hrs will you put on a boat in a yrs time. The engine in these boats if taken care of will last 2500 to 3000 or more hrs and certainly the boat itself is endless.Good luck and post photos of the new ski machine.......
  2. In this mkt from my years of buying/selling boats its worth whatever someone is willing to pay. What really dictates a boats value is condition and also location. People don't want to travel far or ship a boat for whatever reason.I bought some boats really cheap in Texas Louisiana and states that are more difficult to get to.I would guess what some of the ballers have posted here might be right however do what @swc5150 said .Pull the cash out of your pocket and see what the seller says.
  3. I bought my 2011 CP in 2020 and it was in pristine condition.Yes does the CP and GEKKO boats probably have cheaper vinyls carpet and other things used then the big 3. I would say yes however my experience is if taken care of things last a long time. And for me the fit and finish of the boat does not make me a better skier.I owned many of the big 3 boats and still have one however I don't think they lasted as long or longer as far as appearance as the cheaper boats. The CP I think has a very nice interior and I would certainly buy another one......
  4. @Horton Not sure what you are saying however none of my boats have ever been kept in temperature controlled storage and all of my boats are ski tractors. I live in Northern Minnesota where our seasons are short however the summer of 2022 I skied about 110 times. I ski open water at 34 to 36 mph and its about 2.50 miles each run we take. My ski partner does the same so my boats get used in a short season probably every day.
  5. @Horton I bought back my 2001 Gekko GTR last yr and now its 22 yrs old and looks like new.The vinyls carpet and other items I am sure were not top of the line however this boat was taken care of and looks better then all of the big 3 boats that I bought or looked at due to being taken care of.Sure fit and finish and items are not the best however if taken care of things last. And to be honest the Gekko and CP sold for more then the big 3 as far as original price. They both had better re sale and I think for me both boats are better in many ways.Fit and finish won't make me a better skier and really its how you take care of things that will make it last.
  6. I owned a 2011 Carbon Pro and have to say it ranks up at the top as a favorite boat.I thought it was well made and certainly has a great wake and pull. How many ballers still have one of these boats and I would like to hear some thoughts on how it compares to the older and even newer boats of today. Really wish it was still being made.Any thoughts??
  7. Mark Overbye of Gekko boats I think was making them from 1996 to 2009 and then made a comeback in 2015 making a few GTR boats which were a great ski boat.I still own a 2001 GTR and have owned many direct drive boats to include carbon pro, Malibu, mc and Nautique and still think the Gekko is one of my favorite boats. However it was difficult to compete against the big 3......
  8. @WishMy neighbor posted that on our lake website the other day.......Only thing is our lake is frozen
  9. Great video.many many yrs ago we pulled a dozen up all on 2 skis.Where is your lake located it sure looks beautiful.......
  10. @MitchellM I think all of the boats are good quality and it comes down to personal likes and dislikes.I would drive all of them and if you can ski the boats.Remember you are spending lots of money for a boat and I think you want one you are going to be happy with. The market now seems to have many newer boats like 2020 to 2022 for sale so I have seen where you can pick up a 2022 for a lot less then a new 2023.Enjoy the boat shopping and post photos of the new purchase.......
  11. @swbca Ck with Malibu store in Excelsior they might do it and their shop is west of the dealer......
  12. @swbca I know many dealers are starting to do that.Did you contact Nisswa marine they are the other MC dealer.
  13. @The_MS How does the titanium compare to your last few skis.? Is it faster and easier to ski?? It sounds like it might be your best ski so far....
  14. @The_MS Now that you are in Florida what do you consider a cold front?? I have snowbanks that are huge and it was probably zero this morning here in northern mn or also called southern Canada.
  15. @Horton I don't know what happened between you and Randy at usgear however I don't agree with you on how you mentioned never to talk about usgear again. He just sent you $1000 retail value of handles and I would guess he is attempting to make amends or re establish some type of business or personal relationship.I do not know him personally however I have purchased his handles and have them in my boathouse now. They are without a doubt the best handle made today.I try to do business with the BOS sponsors however would prefer to buy from in tow s lines usgear rather then a large corporate operation.I am sure all products are good however it comes down to personal preference.I guess I find myself to be a forgiving person as I get older at the ripe old age of 75. Its unusual to as I was a cop for 30 yrs however I don't hold any grudges as life is too short and I can't let things bother me as IT takes away the enjoyment and pleasure we have each day.Whatever happened in the past is not going to impact my present or future. Its good to see usgear is back and some ballers are supporting the company......
  16. I had 2 of these boats. The first one was a 99 closed bow response that I bought out of Texas and the boat was like brand new.It seemed to track well and handle fine however I did not like the wake that much. Also had a 2002 LX open bow that was also like new and the wake seemed to be a little flatter then the 99.Remember these boats are shorter lighter and not as wide as an LXI.I PREFER the LXI over the LX. I think for me their are better boats for overall skiing then the LX ......

  19. I think ASU is in Tempe and spring mountain I think is in Buckeye and they are only about 45 miles apart.I have driven by Spring mountain and they have 2 lakes that are not yet fully developed for many reasons.....
  20. @TELWhat ski did you have before the NRG1? Also have you skied the NRG2? I am sure the NRG2 is a refined NRG1...
  21. Would some of you experienced ballers tell me what the difference is between these 2 skis. And did these skis come out in on or about 2020 and 2021?? THX.......RON
  22. @Drago I stated it wrong California ski ranch now owned by Paul Crawford was sunset ranch owned by Doug Trimble and his wife yrs ago.located by Sacramento. The baller who listed the schools listed it with the old name as its my understanding they are the same school with different owners and name. Please correct me if I am wrong......
  23. California ski ranch was included however under the new name of sunset ranch of California.I think I am correct as it sold some yrs ago and now has new owners......
  24. My wintertime reading chair as the lake is a frozen ice cube and its really cold outside.I am reading old issues of water ski magazine and its interesting to read about the skis of the past and the old articles.I see @Horton had an article about the new ski magazine .Has anyone started a subscription to the mag and if so what is your opinion.
  25. @HortonI did not know you have had so many boats over a short period of time. Its almost as many as I have had however your boats are new or newer prostars and I buy and sell older ones. You are a lucky guy to have this opportunity and also live in a prime area.ENJOY AND APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE.....Someday you will be old like me and forget how to get home!!
