  1. Do you know how much it would cost to ship to UT. I'm interested for my wife.
  2. @jayski a split radius turn for me is definitely an error. But you see other people use it effectively. On that Mapple video, from the follow up thread from this one, He uses it quite a bit and very effectively.
  3. @Wish. I think it is in my case anyway. I will actually use a split radius when I really screw up.
  4. Great thread! Very interested in what MB is saying. Over a year ago I wrote something on here about getting too wide too soon @38 (Wide of the buoy line too early in the course). I understood that something was wrong but didn't know how to fix it. I definitely believe staying open through the transition and allowing the ski to go down course will help manage the arc of the ski so that its apex hits at the buoy and not too early causing me to fall to the inside.
  5. Voted... Can we vote everyday? The Ballers helped me win a photo competition I intend to repay the favor.
  6. I like it... Helps the newbies know who is credible. As long as you don't get your panties in a wad over not having stars. Now what can I do to earn those stars. This is a contest right? :)
  7. I actually yelled in my office when I watched that. Worst crash I've ever seen. His bindings didn't look like they pre-released to me... they were connected the entire way until the tip stuffed.
  8. I pull out as the left 55 hits the bow of the boat. I then look for the 3ball. When the three ball. The three ball will pass through the gates and when it touches the left gate I stop pulling out. I find this gets me in the same position every time. It also gives me good reference points to make wind adjustments. Head Wind I let the 55 travel down the boat a little farther. Crosswind to the left I will stand up as the three ball is in the middle of the gates. Crosswind to the right I stand up as the 3 passes the left gate.
  9. Wow the ballers have some power! I was in a tight race in the photo competition before I posted it on here and then I exploded. Thanks Ballers. I won $100 to the gym which I will use to come back stronger next season so I can turn more buoys!
  10. Thanks for all the Votes. The ballers are coming up huge I've pulled a sizable lead now.
  11. @Than_Bogan Safety Pins. Thanks for the votes. The picture was taken by Julie Parker a skier and the best photographer I know.
  12. Hey ballers I'm in an outdoor photo competition and need some love in a close race. I think most of you will appreciate this photo. Just click the link and vote for the waterski pic you don't have to enter any info. https://apps.facebook.com/offerpop/Contest.psp?c=195130&u=44298&a=254553244581393&p=167432367721&rest=0&v=View
  13. You definitely have to practice the zig-zag dance. I watched Dave Goode unsuccessfully negotiate the zig-zag at 2@39 in our last tournament of the season a couple days ago and he took a huge OTF when the slack came up. I practice it every time I squeak around a buoy in practice and now its just the natural thing to do anytime I barely manage to get around a buoy.
  14. I accidently skied in my regular beanie yesterday at a tournament at Goode Lake. It flew off around the 3 ball at 35-off. Looks like a cool product. By the way I watched T-Gas ski through 39 on a stock nano 1. Stock settings as well. 2nd set on it. UNREAL!
  15. @ShaneH I thought Will was the higher seed from qualifying and he choose the CC. That is what Tadd was saying on the webcast anyway?
  16. Thanks I'm definitely going to buy one of these for my wife.
  17. I love Kstar. This is like the 3rd time I've seen @MarcusBrown post something from him. So if you aren't following mobilitywod.com you probably should be. During the video he talks about the relationship between ribcage and pelvis. The ability to maintain that relationship under dynamic loads and ranges of motion is exactly what "core strength" really is. 1) learn to get into the position Kstar is talking about. 2) Get into that position before you enter the course. 3) Build strength to maintain that position under the loads and different ranges of motion the course requires.
  18. @richarddonane How much are you asking?
  19. My definition of core strength - The ability to maintain a neutral spine and pelvis under load and through dynamic range of motion. Not sure the definition helps anybody's skiing but "core strength" that is engaged certainly does.
  20. @Boody It sounds like your experience with the N1 was exactly like mine. I was on a mid nano twist and I have to agree the N1 felt like a lot of work in comparison. I didn't really lose any buoys (scrapped quite a few 38's) but after two weeks and several settings on the N1 I went back to the nano twist mid and was very happy with my decision. My wife got the N1 and looks great on it!
  21. What does it take to get a promo deal on a new boat? Just a guarantee that the boat pulls x amount of tournaments per year? I'm completely ignorant to the process.
  22. @skier2788 that was my exact goal last season and I accomplished it. Got my OM and skied Katy Ski Jam. It was awesome. But trust me you won't be able to "die a happy man" there is always more buoys! My goal is to get a piece of 41 before I turn 35 (currently 29) and have to go 34mph. Tournament best 3@39... Practice best 4@39.
  23. @Garn - I think the safety of crossfit depends completely on the trainer at your local crossfit box. I've been to some that are great, they won't let you get away with crappy form and help you know your limits when you are working with an injury. I've seen others that just want to see you lift as much weight as fast as you can regardless of form and that is not the answer. I would check out several gyms close to you and see which one fits you the best. That being said as a Chiropractor I think Squats and Deadlifts, when done properly, are very beneficial for the low back and can help you not only recover from a low back problem but can prevent future low back problems. (If I could get all my patients to squat and deadlift some moderate weight they would be a lot healthier.)
