  1. I wear a 10 1/2 running shoe and the 11 vapor is tight but comfortable- they seem to run a little small
  2. I regularly ski behind a 2008 Moomba OBV when I'm able to escape the buoys for open water. It's an adjustment compared with the nautique but it's still fun to ski. Before I skied behind a true slalom boat I thought it was great. The 2009 and newer models are a little shorter and a bit heavier than 2008 and earlier. Most of them have an adjustable wake plate feature which makes a big difference in shaping the wake for skiing.
  3. I just snatched up a 2014 graphite vapor which is working great for me even at -15. With a vapor boot and RTP it came in well under your budget. I think this an example of a ski intended for advanced skiers that also works great for non-advanced guys.
  4. I like the feel of PP better and I don't ski tournaments. How do I take a new ZO boat and convert it to PP?
  5. Why do people participate in bowling leagues when they could easily just bowl on their own and obtain the same measure of skill? I think the team competition could add a fun element. It could be fun to have teams comprised of skiers with different ability levels- I'm thinking that would really add to exchange of ideas as the better skiers advise the novice skiers. As an experiment @horton could generate teams at the BOS cash prize handicap tournament- East Vs. West; California vs everyone else or whatever.
  6. Cool in a few years I can pick one up to replace the 2014 graphite vapor I just stole from perf ski. Talk about bang for my buck!
  7. Ugh please just come up with something that will fit in my TSC 1 doghouse for a decent price should the day ever come that I need to repower.
  8. I saw far more skiers on combo skis on busy public water today than I have in a long time- and only one wakeboarder. I doubt the wakeboarders got out of bed before the rest of us.
  9. Centurion could up the ante by offering the winner a choice of taking the cash or taking a $ 2,000 factory rebate on a brand new carbon pro!
  10. Nice looking boat. I love my swoosh N nautique. Skis and drives great.
  11. as an outsider to the tournament scene, this sounds really good. If I'm understanding it correctly for 200 bucks an average joe skier gets 3 rounds of skiing in a warm weather location in addition to the entertainment of watching some really good skiers go at it. Plus it creates a reason to accumulate tournament scores throughout the year to qualify for a handicap round which could end up inducing tournament participation at a more local level.
  12. According to @Edbrazil and this issue I own a lot on a waterski super site! https://books.google.com/books?id=_rt2YqVFATEC&pg=RA1-PA97&dq=Brookshire+lake&hl=en&sa=X&ei=Q_iJVbjcPMy5-AHcuqWgBg&ved=0CCQQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=Brookshire%20lake&f=false
  13. Your setup would be very similar to ours. At the south end we approach the course just like you would. There is an art to timing the pullout correctly as to not lose momentum as the boat is turning into the skier. At the north end of our lake take a straight on approach. Notice on the south end how the point that sticks out blocks the rollers. On the north end starting in the turnout will throw a roller down the course. I agree that an 8 buoy course would be ideal.
  14. I agree with Stevie Boy, and if you don't normally do so I would have them turn the engine off while your entering and exiting the water
  15. All this being said, it looks like we have some great competition to look forward to between FW and Nate. This could be an awesome long term rivalry.
  16. As long as the virtual buoys are bubble buoys I'm in
  17. @bogboy I'm just saying if you pee in it you might wanna rinse it out- and better hose yourself down before you jump in your truck.- especially if you eat asparagus.
  18. There's little difference in warmth between my dry suit and blacktec 2 mil full suit. Huge difference in comfort though. Not enough water exchange with the camaro to pee in it though- have to use the boat shower if you want to prewarm it.
  19. If you have a boom that's a great tool to use. My oldest (8 at the time) went directly from the tied together trainers to skiing once on the boom with 1 ski to deep water starts on one ski with the deep-V handle. This was not how I intended for him to progress but he really wanted to try a slalom ski so I let him do it. For him one ski is easier than trying to control 2 skis.

  21. @DefectiveDave evolution cover fits tightly enough it won't hold water. Even on my neighbors 24 ft supra it works without any support post. Strap on a go pro and record your routine- then we can sit back and criticize!
  22. I did this for 3 years before I got my lake lot last year. It helped that my ski buddy and I alternated bringing the boat depending who got finished at work first. It would be nice for you if you could find a ski buddy that you trust to grab your boat from storage. One guy at our club used to provide pulls for one of the local college kids who would prep his boat and wipe it down when they were done. I think you could save a little time on the cover. With mine I could unhook the back and have it off in 30 seconds. Probablly have it on in 2 minutes. The design is very similar to these http://www.evolutioncovers.com. Other than that your analysis is about right. I guess that's why some guys play tennis.
  23. ICD-9 is bad enough. I have to warn my patients that I'm only part doctor and the other part computer technician.
  24. Any difference between the 2014 and 2015 graphite versions? @Horton @eddie_roberts_jr
