  1. Neveu made 39’ look like an opener. Very impressive.
  2. @Dirt maybe you should just ask @Horton to borrow one of his for awhile.?.?.?
  3. Here is an '05, one owner promo for $18,900 obo. 1100 hrs wouldn't scare me at all on a well maintained boat that I tested before buying. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Boat_3Event&postid=50435
  4. Shop around...I'd try and be around$20K or less for that year boat. If it has zero off, maybe slightly more. If I was going to pay $24K or more, I'd be looking for an '07-'09 w/Zero off.
  5. So the solution is either: A... rotate sets between the Mastercraft and Nautique Or B... rotate sets between the North and South Hemisphere
  6. I used to like the old K Palm curves. When they switched up the style/fit, I switched to 41 Tails. I’ve had good luck with them for years now.
  7. I’m 6’3, 210lb...chest size is probably 42ish. I’ve had an XL for two seasons. I wouldn’t consider anything bigger. I’d almost consider sizing down to a L personally. I recently put the heater top back on and have no issues zipping my XL up with any of my three different brand heater tops. Without the heater tops, it almost feels slightly loose.
  8. When ZBox first came out, I helped get it set up on two boats...’07 Response, and an ‘05 Prostar 197. We had difficulty on our own getting good bouy times on the Mastercraft. I can’t recall who I worked with at Perfect Pass, but he was awesome helping me get it dialed in. Basically my ski partner and I skied 4 sets one day, recording buoy times each pass. We sent this info to the guy at Perfect Pass and he gave us adjustments to make. After this, times got better. We then skied another day recording the same info, sent him the spreadsheet of buoy times, he told us to tweak a parameter or two a little different, and it pretty much shacked the times. I felt like short of Zero Off, it was the next best thing. Very good pull once set up properly.
  9. @horton...I thought US Gear money was supposed to be funding your Scotch inventory?

  11. @davemac ...in terms of flotation, my Stokes vest has more flotation than the Eagle/Camaro vests I’ve owned and worn. Though I’m not totally in love with my Stokes compared to the Eagle and Camaro designs of 4-5 years ago, it seems to be more durable than other brands. I guess the only thing I somewhat dislike about my Stokes vest is that it initially seemed a little bulkier and I rubbed my upper arms on it a little too much. I guess maybe I’ve gotten used to it? That said, I’ve seen the new Stokes and would like try one...it seems to have a different material that is smoother and less abrasive in the outside.
  12. This is not ‘Nam, this is skiing, there are rules. Obviously, you’re not a golfer.
  13. @JC McCavit I’m not sure that would work out so well. That’s a lot of missing surface area to make up for with a trim tab. I’d lean towards a new rudder if it was me.
  14. I would score it 0. You didn’t turn any buoys and I don’t even recall seeing you go through the gates.
  15. @RINLE Perfect...maybe Dyna-Ski can start marketing boats to the bass fishing crowd?
  16. @JBB is there a course on Lake George?
  17. I can’t control the price of new boats, so I don’t worry too much about it. I also have no plans to ever buy a new one. The monthly payment thing doesn’t interest me. Under most circumstances, I could never justify financing a depreciating asset used for leisure for a portion of the year. I can’t see myself ever buying a ski boat that is not a direct drive inboard.
  18. I’ve never met or heard of him before, but I’m now a fan. I’ll be rooting for him when he does it again! Go Greg!
  19. Is this a salt water boat? Something to ask/consider.
  20. @liquid_d. No one was bringing gas. I trailered the boat to the ski lake every time, and I'd put the gas in at the pump...Shell 93 Octane Non-Ethanol. Ski buddies would bring cash and leave it in my glove box at the end of each ski day. Guys who didn't bring cash would usually get the bar tab at Outback or On The Border after skiing. It was a good system....
  21. I always ran Premium non-ethanol in my SN196. I figured it cost between 50 and 75 cents extra per set compared to regular. Pretty minimal expense in the grand scheme of things. I had good ski buddies who paid for gas, so I guess I transferrred the expense to them...no one complained and the boat always ran great.
  22. @usaski1 Skip to 1:45 in this video....but then go back and watch the whole video!
  23. Do you have one of those Magic 8 ball things? Ask it what to do and then you'll know for sure!
