  1. Considering a possible relocation to Louisville. Ahead of salary, schools, housing, quality of life, etc....I’m wondering about skiing opportunities. But seriously, what’s the ski scene like in the Louisville area? How about Lexington?
  2. I had a pre-release that could have been prevented. Ultimately found that the release screws had been getting looser to the point that the release had a lot of slop in it. Now I inspect them regularly.
  3. @lpskier ‘s summertime ski site (Oseetah Lake) is tough to beat.
  4. “Water time” should probably be on the list.
  5. Great video...is that Patti‘s voice at the end of the clip?
  6. I think it was actually @Horton who may have said it best... “the metric system is for countries who haven’t put a man on the moon.”
  7. It’s my understanding that one time @Horton let @Dirt borrow a ski....the hilarity continues.
  8. Early on in the 2019 ski season I burned through my last pair of radar RS-1 bindings. I had been stockpiling them for years because I preferred them to the Stradas and Vapor bindings that followed. Also, the Strada and Vapor and now whatever they have just seemed so expensive for their durability. I decided to switch to a Reflex front and a Wiley’s rear toe plate. Initially the hard shell front seemed like the bigger change, but I honestly got used to that in 5-10 sets. The RTP rear probably took all summer to get used to, but I’m not making a living in the sport so I stuck with it. I like the setup now and think it’s made me a better skier....just not getting the water time I’d like to set any PB’s these days.
  9. Agreed...the grey hull and red (if I recall correctly) accents on @jayski boat looks great.
  10. I grew up skiing on Brant Lake. Every year I get up there it makes me happy to see the course still on the lake.
  11. I ordered and received a handle from her in mid December ‘19.
  12. The most expensive slalom course is a ski!
  13. @jhughes I’ve not dug a lake, but if I were to dig one and owned an excavator, the first thing I think I’d do is sell it and buy a scraper.
  14. @S1Pitts I have relatively large hands. Usually 10-11 in nomex gloves. I’ve been wearing size Mediums in the 41 tails with glove liners for years. The first couple sets are pretty snug, but they stretch out perfect after that. Maybe a couple years ago when they switched from yellow to black, those gloves did start to rip easier, and I was disappointed. As a result, I’ve recently switched to the inside out 41 tails which I love, but are pricey. When I saw this ad for the yellow ones, I snatched up a couple pair. Should last a couple summers.
  15. Prior to being edited....why did the ad make mention of being a promo in the first place?
  16. @Jody_Seal read both sentences of the post. Also, fairly certain this boat is on SIA for $89500 OBO.
  17. They need to bring back the RS-1 bindings for that ski!
  18. I travel all the time on American with my slalom ski in a SportTube. I pack ski/handle/rope/gloves/vest/towel. Always direct flights. No issues so far. I will say that certain airports will ALWAYS open your SportTube to inspect it because they have sub standard x-ray machines. I’m always a little worried they won’t pack or put it back together properly. Try to make that process as simple as possible if this becomes the case for you..
  19. Give them away to family and friends who ski at a more recreational level. Also, I also made a dog leash out of one. I think my dog walks at 38’ off or so.
  20. I used to ski behind a late 90s Sportster. Pretty decent slalom tug. Slightly harder wake than the same era MC or Nautique, but a good fun boat with a great footin’ wake.
