  1. Thanks guys...I am a little surprised it has hung on this long!
  2. suction mount, sawed off noodle with zip ties, and a tether.
  3. My last run of the year, it was very cold, I pushed it too much, also had a pretty unsuccessful dock start...I now seem to be having some nasty tennis elbow. Anyone else have/had it? Any advice?
  4. @Horton...you aren't the summer challenged among us.
  5. What are your winter plans? Switching to skiing/snowboarding, etc? Planning a trip to someplace warm? Drinking the winter away and then cursing yourself in the spring when it is time to get your lard a$$ off the couch and into a wetsuit?
  6. @jcamp...I found I skied more this year than in any other BECAUSE I didn't have my own boat :)
  7. Exactly what JJVDMZN said...everything I thought I knew about skiing is wrong. Hitting the balls is WAY more addictive than I thought it could be...and finally...it is MUCH easier to let someone else teach your kid how to ski, and they will want it more if you aren't the one pushing.
  8. I think I would have been running on top of the water cartoon style and never got back in :)
  9. My season just finished this weekend and I am already getting nostalgic. My sons first time on long line: last ski of the season:
  10. ...I'm out! Thanks for all the tips and advice this season. Looking forward to making more improvements next year and finding a course to ski on. That was COLD!
  11. I had a pretty bad OTF this year that I did not come out of. I was damned sore for about a month, but was ok. I am even a bit more cautious about leaving the vectors a bit loose now.
  12. I don't believe that it is, that looks like it is near the beach...we still have a ramp and a course set up, but you best get there VERY early if you want to hit it. Ron and Jim Kokernak use the jump a lot...Ron just set a record for his age group this year. If you can upload that video, I am sure there are people from the club who would love to see it!
  13. Its tough here in MA...I ski on Webster lake a lot and we have a course, but by the time the tritoon boat pulling a tuber and the waverunners are done using it as an obstacle course, there is hardly anything left to it. I really want to start learning to do courses, but they are hard to find out here...or maybe I don't know where to look.
  14. @HPskier1...the fishermen might disagree with you :)
  15. As much as it hurts...I have been grabbing a weekend ski at 6am. During the week I have M & Thu ski at 6pm and I bring one of the kids with me.
  16. Brought my son to get a lesson a few weeks ago and they had a killer drill. Tie the handle to a tree...put weight against the rope in the position you should be in (soft knees, buttup, arms straight)...let go. Keep working on that until you don't fall on your butt. Worked brilliantly.
  17. I know there are about a thousand things wrong with this...but I went out for a free ski the other morning about a week after hurting my forward leg kind of bad. Somethings are more pronounced on the run, but I am noticing that even though I thought I was doing better, I am still steering the ski by digging in the back. Any advice here?
  18. Masterline is going to be out of my price range at this point.
  19. I am looking to buy my first handle and rope package. I came across the Radar Control Series Water Ski Handle & Rope Package for about $55. Anyone tried those or have a recomendation for something else to look at?
  20. Another 'what do you do?' question... Especially those in the Northeast, how the hell do you dry your equipment? My gloves smell like a donkeys behind! Now, for something you may enjoy. I would say I am at the bottom .01% for skiers here. This is my first year on the course and I have been running the mini. After a good weekend of 2 successful passes through at 28 & 32 only to have the course f'ed up by a tuber, I was dying to get back out there. Last night at ski club, after the waves finally died down from the pontoon boat literally spinning donuts IN the course for 45 minutes, I pushed it a bit to get out there....and this happened. WHY THE HELL DO PEOPLE THINK ITS FUN TO TUBE IN A DAMNED COURSE!@?!?&*(#%$Q
  21. Welcome to New England, home of the shortest summer in the world (ok, slight exaggeration, but any way). Between bare skin and wet suit weather there seems to be a thermal swim shirt weather. What are you guys using?
  22. hoping to get a Radar Decibal in the off season.
  23. Do yourself a favor and take a few days to hit up Banff while you are there...amazing.
  24. I always keep some lake lice repellent in the back of my boat for such occasions. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3369/3666112469_bbfb8d6813_z.jpg
