  1. Joined a local ski club and we had our first free ski today, was bracing for ice cold New England water, but actually not bad and no boat traffic! First time out on the Senate C and liking it a lot. Another guy in the club got the Senate...curious to swap skis and see what the difference is.
  2. I wasn't commenting on politics...just making a sentence diagramming joke.
  3. @Horton...He gave you the name...Barack Obama...he got reelected too! Let me see if I can find a video :)
  4. Own a family business chartering motorcoaches and a travel agency.
  5. "There is an auto-bilge pump fitted so you can get rid of any water at low speeds - at high speeds - just unscrew the drainage plug!"
  6. I got mine a few weeks ago...I would give them a call though, they had the 2012 Lyric in stock, but it wasn't showing on their site, I asked them if they had any and they said hang on.......ok, try it now :)
  7. put the decimal point in the right spot and I am THERE!
  8. That is the one I got...actually I got the Senate -C package. Their customer service was incredible.
  9. for just a little more you can get the 2012...if that matters to you: http://www.wakehouse.com/products/radar-senate-slalom-water-ski-2012.html
  10. It is a ton of fun, easy to work on, and I like that it is a Jet, which makes it pretty hard to use it as a human blender. Of course the limiting factors are it is easy for a hard skier to steer the boat, there isn't a ton of room, and it is a weeee bit on the loud side.
  11. but do you have a link to the picture...THAT is the question
  12. 468 cubic inch twin turbo chevy. It isn't bad out of the hole, and if the skier won't get out from behind the boat, I have ways of convincing them :) nice flat wake though: oh...and my wife is there in spite of the boat, not because of it :)
  13. I have always skied behind jet boats with enough power to rip your arms out...but I went through a period where I had a mental block and couldn't get up. I tried dropping a ski, but would yard sale it every time. Nothing worse than having the need to ski and fighting a 30hp bayliner to get out of the water though!
  14. Horton's driver: http://assets0.ordienetworks.com/images/user_photos/1209734/1b2504654e10dec6b75ca9d1541a6e9b_width_600x.jpg Make sure you roll the privacy glass up before my pull!
  15. I am also in the boat of needing earplugs now. The engine on my boat is pretty loud, so you will always hear that...but I have found I prefer ear plugs now even if I am skiing a quiet boat...changes the senses a bit. No music though...everything I want to hear is in the water. Once the ride is over though...
  16. I have to say...this thread got a LOT more response than I expected...I was half expecting a panda :) I too really like the 2012 styling on the Radar line, a lot of the 2013 seems like someone was having a bit too much fun with the green highlighter...and the Lyric...didn't Ed Hardy go out of style like 5 years ago? The Strada still looks sweet though. I also like the look of the Sans Rival...but just can't get over the name. It just sounds hoaky to me.
  17. @aswinter05 I just purchased the same ski, and yes...pictures do not do it justice...same with the 2012 lyric I just got my wife..both gorgeous skis. I just figured it would be lame to pick the skis I just bought...and that Mapple gets me every time I click here. Of course...I could buy 3 of my Senate C's for the cost of one Mapple 6.0...sooo...the Senate C looks every nicer at that point :)
  18. @OB that is just the initial costs, doesn't include maintenance!
  19. half a house and 60% of my paycheck in perpetuity.
  20. @OB, I have one of those I picked up at a yard sale...I really need to try it once.
