  1. Over our winter I'm possibly going to run a few sets with the Reflex R-style to see if I can get it to work so I thought I would look around at some of the pro's for setup clues. Whitney's R-style looks like a standard boot modified using a full liner unless I am missing something. Also she appears to be running her back heel a fair way over judging by the amount of the Reflex logo that I can see on the plate. I've always run a bit of angle on the rear boot but not quite that much but maybe that's a hard shell thing? I also wonder what she does not like about the off the shelf R-style?
  2. I see it the same as I see Moomba, the conditions are part of the charm. Most skiers go out and prepare for tough conditions prior to the event so they are ready on the day and some skiers and possibly even ski's? are better suited which keeps it interesting. Cream still rises to the top, the usual suspects were all in the mix. Imagine Imagine F1 being raced on the same track design in every country - boring. And keep in mind challenging conditions throw up a challenge to the skiers, who would take that away from them?
  3. Yeah I started watching his youtube stuff a over a year ago, he uses the ski really well and knows how to go after it when he needs to so there is no doubt he will be a big name if he continues on the current path. Interesting gate too.. I would like to know more about the Reflex ski he rides but I've only ever seen a couple of them in the wild..
  4. Manon on the GT is a good result for her and the new ski!
  5. Jacinta won, 36 pro events on a row. Most dominant water skier ever?
  6. If conditions are perfect then Nate wins. Random conditions makes it interesting and you have to watch.
  7. @andjules Its my understanding that the two skis are the same here in Australia and your close with your assumptions. I have seen a couple of the Jobes in blue and they look really nice, pretty sure they will never be sold in the US. One of my skiing mates is on the 67 Jobe and likes it a lot, its not quite as fast as the red KD
  8. @"Mateo Vargas" The hard way, you have to pull it out and have a good look inside. There is more info on the CC forum about the problem with some owners doing away with the stock muffler and putting in a straight through setup which you can buy off the shelf. Mine was blocked so badly the muffler blew open and the boat was pumping water and exhaust into the bilge. I suspect it had been partially blocked for a while, this is a potentially bad problem if your out in the middle of a large lake because the boat takes on water with the engine on or off. Its easy enough to repair with a fiber glass kit and a grinder.
  9. @MattP your right about Jacinta, the week before she flew out she kicked at least three jumps that were way past the 200 mark in practice.
  10. I just had to do surgery on the muffler on my 196 becuase an intenal part had broken away and almst fully blocked the larger exit pipe. It was running ok but power was way down out of the hole so its worth checking even if its a long shot.
  11. Because there is no Australian thread here is one of the best we have. Bushy Browns at Woodford QLD, great site and a great guy who will give anyone a tow.
  12. I started thinking about expensive new bike toys and then found this... Its not just in skiing..
  13. Hey Brian congrats mate, glad you and the KD are getting along so well.
  14. @MS How many sets are you at now?
  15. I would bet she is looking for a ski that helps her win events. The GT has a lot going it and from what I saw she looks way more at home on it than the Radar.
  16. I'm still waiting for the left / right version. Makes sense.
  17. Wow that's interesting but not surprising.
  18. @thager Its a good summary of how the ski feels.
  19. You can't pick it up in the photo but there is plenty of slope from the shield to the nose, water is not going to pool anywhere.
  20. Grey is nice but it shows up every mark
  21. Jacinta and I are using this one right now. its interesting switching between the new boat and the 200 which now feels really really small by comparison. Its a great boat in every respect, hard to find a fault - its louder inside - Seadeck i suspect? I love my own 196, the 6.2 200 is amazing and this new boat is that much better again, the other companies have serious work to do now.
  22. T-Factor is an awesome boot, you won't regret it.
  23. @Deanoski 17.7165 (45cm) Its a hacked up Vector boot
