  1. I don't agree that Asher or Fred Winter or Nate for example have weaker onside turns but there may be other examples out there that illustrate a toe side turn becoming "better" but you would need to define better. Under real pressure I still think most skiers would opt for heel side if their life depended on it, actual data on where high end skiers make their first big tournament mistake would be interesting. There is a reason why heel side is called the onside and I don't think that has changed. As a lefty the thought of an offside at 5 ball would keep me awake at night
  2. Sacha is not exactly text book when you watch him but I give the man credit for skiing some big scores. Is that 2 41's this year? Must be Conelly's number 1 skier on that basis. How many 41's did Nate run this year in comp?
  3. Also those Radar liners respond well to some oven time.

I was told that Aussie boats still use Indmar unless something has changed recently.
  5. Would be interested to hear peoples thoughts on Joel's interesting and creative boot setup. As far as I can tell its snow boot of sorts, maybe the rear is as well. I am 99% certain that it does not release and from what I have seen there is a fair bit of freedom with the front back movement where it pivots. Clearly its working for JH and I applaud his willingness to go outside the box with binding tech. Maybe we will all benefit from this one day. @JoelHowley feel free to enlighten us mate.

Probably because nobody is buying the new TXi in Australia...
  7. 2005 196 with ZR6 ZO converted. Runs about 3300RPM at 34mph so I am curious about upping the RPMS (prop change) any comments? Boat skis great but might be better running slightly higher revs?
  8. He was clearly hiding everything from the "boat" behind his arse and doing a dam fine job of it.
  9. Agree with @B_S that Nautique thread is pretty disgusting.
  10. @Jody_Seal is right on the money. Watch Nate run through 38 and 39 behind this old 196 and think about how far we have really come in terms of wake and tracking. Not so far when you look back at what happens from the platform to the skier..
  11. Yep, we went through a bunch of Polyform buoys before we switched to Jobe and have had no problems since. Polyforms were lucky to last 3 months before going sticky.
  12. @Jibbo Tried that and they did not want to replace it in this case, previously when other parts have let go they have been very good. I'm quite happy with my solution, its tough and functional. Any camera mount lives in a high risk zone so I have no issue with Wakeye at all. This simply highlights the benefits of the new system.
  13. I fabricated a Hybrid solution following an incident which can only be described as unfortunate.
  14. I've been using a Samsung Galaxy 3 for years and its awesome with the wakeye. Does anyone use the new Samsung and how are the results?
  15. Ok my little guy is 8 and I cut the Wiley wrap at the back straight through so it will release easily for him, its still tight to get on and off but he will come out of it in a fall. I also cut the boot height down. He spent his first year in a soft lace up binding with the laces undone, now hes on the Wiley and skiing a whole lot better.
  16. For single event dominance it would be Jacinta.
  17. Its not so black and white sorry. I think this is a discussion around definitions and how we are seeing the same thing but possibly interpreting and trying to describe it a little differently. I would describe what Nate, Terry, Robert Pigozzi, Thibaut, Marcus, Andy, Will and even Adam Caldwell do as a relatively fast transition but its all obviously very relevant to their weights, ski size, setup, angle and load. Nate is probably the closest to the flatter outbound ski angle out of all of them but he moves to that position quickly in my opinion. So my interpretation - the advantage of getting to that position quickly is that your unloading the ski from the pulling edge as efficiently as possible and allowing it to swing out and up on the boat, the way I see it a bigger faster ski makes this a little easier.
  18. @Chef23 Did I post a video of Nate running -41 or of a guy cruising -32 and moving early? I'm trying to wrap my head around the blanket statement made by Horton that we should all strive to transition slowly, there are so many variables in play so I thought it was worthy of a bit more discussion. If I try to slow the transition down things don't go well for me but I'm lighter and ride a bigger ski by comparison to Horton on a 66.
  19. Tesla has about 17 moving parts in the drive train and its close to maintenance free.
  20. Early adopters pay... but in the long term how many moving parts are we dealing with to manufacture? Answer = not many.
  21. @Horton for you the equation must be a whole lot different than Nate for example, he's lighter than you and to the best of my knowledge this week skis on a bigger ski at a faster speed, my point being that different skiing styles, ski's, setups, speeds, weights, angle and load all play into the equation. Moving at center line I agree with you but riding a flat ski for longer is not what I see when I watch Terry Winter or Robert Pigozzi for example. To me they transition quickly and ride the pendulum out about as efficiently as anyone. Parish and Freddie appear to me to be different again, data on average distances traveled edge to edge would be interesting. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bj2nshoAane/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
  22. The rear boot is not an R-style, its a a moded std boot and it looks like an intuition liner.
  23. @Horton I would like to understand why you think it should be a slow process when I see a lot of variation in the way the top skiers transition. That includes where it starts, where it ends and how long it takes. I'm not sure you can apply a blanket rule because there are so many variables from one skier to the next.
  24. As an overall package the jump from the 196 to the 200 to the 2019 are about the same in terms of how far each has advanced over the previous. I love my 196 but its not on the same planet as the 2019. I can't see the logic behind producing the 200 after they have invested so much into R+D on the new toy, they need to get a return now so why bother with the old design? It makes even less sense to rebrand it, they will sell as many 2019's as they can make this year I bet. And if they were going to rebrand it then it would be the new Carbon Pro perhaps?? but that got killed.
  25. I was thinking about this subject the other day and I'm not that sure I can confidently pick a change in ZO settings with any repeatable accuracy. I might be able to but I would not be the house on it. Would be interesting to test a few skiers and see what the results revealed.
