  1. She messaged me from hospital this morning, she is ok but from what she told me I doubt she will ski. As tough as she is I have my doubts, just glad its not too serious.
  2. Big ski setup "short" at 34mph makes a lot of sense to me. Up to a point it should make for an earlier smoother transition and more consistent turns.
  3. So at the end of the season here I have had a few sets on 2.500 6.865 .800 8 degrees - with my boots pushed as far forward as I could get them to go so need to measure but the ski felt pretty dam quick last set and turned really well both sides. I was not able to get past 3@-38 but skiing once a week I was pretty happy with the overall feel. Still loving what the fin does for the KD and I could never see myself going back to the stock fin. Just for fun I threw the fin into the old Quest and it felt much better side to side but the gap between the D3 and the KD is so vast I did not want to spend the time to adapt so the experiment was over. I still think the CG fin is a significant advance and a dirt cheap performance upgrade, what it does for your offside is worth the price alone. I recall messing up 2 ball on a 38 this season really badly and still going out the gates early, I've never had a ski setup that could do that until now.
  4. Those are actually pretty close to the numbers I was running on my GT (67) with my boots further forward and the ski was super friendly and easy to ride.
  5. Ski went vertical on 1 - 3 - 5 @SkiJay would be interesting to know how you tuned this out?
  6. What settings are you currently running?
  7. Agree so there are a few variables but he was not as far up on the boat as the first three but the result out of 1 ball was probably the best. 4 gate shots is not enough to draw any real conclusions from. He did set an new Aussie record so big congrats to him for that, something is working.
  8. Ok so he said that he was taking a softer pullout into #4 so does that translate into narrower, probably. Does anyone actually think going narrower on your gate shot at shortline is a good thing?
  9. Cheap one on SIA - http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=51080
  10. A young dude that runs -39 every time I see him ski, seems to be very consistent.
  11. Love it, did you get the big engine?
  12. @Horton are you / would you be keeping the fin in your ski in your pursuit of more buoys at -39?
  13. Does anyone have an answer on this? I started thinking about the weight vs boat equation and how much extra weight must hurt skiers trying to to get down -41. I'm thinking Parish would be the largest / heaviest but I have no idea what he would wight in at. At some point north of 210 - 220 the weight has to be a really really big disadvantage making -41 almost impossible unless you have a seriously dialed in ski / setup. It seems in the modern era that smaller guys are getting it done and despite better equipment, new ZO, ropes, skis we are still not seeing many big skiers getting into -43.
  14. What are they asking for the new 200 and how are the actual OTD prices? They must be selling a few of these by now.
  15. Would be interesting if there was an option for the Denali CG fin also.
  16. Austin Abel has been running the new boat at Abel Ski School. I'm sure he will be happy to tow anyone who wants to try it out.
  17. Not a straight leg to be seen when this boy skis.
  18. Spoke with a guy a few weeks ago in Florida that made similar comments about the turn stability. If it's loose at -32 its going to be interesting at -38 so it will be interesting if you can tune it or adapt. Maybe a bit less DFT :)
  19. Intuition liner and 1 buckle with rubber strap works really well. Plenty of mobility much like a kicker, it retains the double boot stability and feel just enough.
  20. Once up to speed I dont think the new ski would push more water than the 200, I would have thought the reverse? Having spent plenty of time driving both it feels like the ski is more on top of the water.
  21. For the doubters just try the fin, its a small investment for a bloody big gain. Its a good way to sample the Denali effect. I know at least two pros that run it and probably dont want other pros finding out.
  22. I cant wait to pull your trick set today said nobody ever.... when I see the trick ski come out I start praying for my phone to ring. If its a toe set just shoot me in the head. You never get that time back. Im stil trying to work out a payback ratio but its about 9 slalom sets to one trick set and toes almost needs some off the water favors to make it fair.
  23. The front strut on our training boat had 2 settings, the shorter setting pulled the front down which seemed to help.
