  1. Make sure you check out Mcginnis at FT Lauderdale - http://mcski.com/
  2. Rowing machine hits all the right muscle groups
  3. I've never gone beyond -38 on my trick, after studying the Horton method its time for another crack at it!
  4. Its been a few years since this was shot, has anyone taken the title?
  5. Looks great.... Freight to Australia?
  6. After an extended layoff (since 2004) from the sport coming back has been great, plenty of pain but worth every bit of it. That first big fall was coming, sooner or later I was going to find out if I could take a real hit.. Last week in a cross wind I got pushed a little narrow and clipped a ball, the ski skipped out and I took what was apparently a pretty spectacular crash. Luckily I suffered no injury at all and got up to complete the set, just glad that first big crash is out of the way....
  7. @Than_Bogan The Honda forum I owned had this exact model. You pay the annual subscription and the ads vanish when your logged in. Very few people paid.
  8. As an ex forum owner I don't have a problem with the revenue model... Its better than subscription. I'm skiing better and this community has helped, its a small price to pay.
  9. I've just switched to a 13 Masterline from an 12 Intow. Felt odd for a couple of sets but I'm happy with the switch. Bouy count remains much the same.... I'm the problem not the handle.
  10. Springtime here in AU so we are getting wind from all directions, only once in the last few months have I put the gear back in the car without skiing for the 10 minute drive back home. What I am noticing is that on the good days its all sooo easy, training in gusty wind and light chop is certainly not hurting.. probably the opposite.
  11. @Wish Yes she's currently preparing for worlds and looking good on the Quest.
  12. Over winter I spent plenty of time on the rowing machine, it seems to hit most of the right muscle groups.
  13. Thanks Marcus, as an older skier I am always looking for ways to help reduce the pain, wear and tear and general soreness that comes with midlife skiing. I'm a big fan of staying open to the boat, it makes a lot of sense.
  14. We went right through winter here in sunny QLD Australia... our season is just starting.
  15. @skibrain - have to agree with the front foot pressure comment. It took me a while to work that one out for myself (67 Quest) I'm running my T-factor boots in the stock position.
  16. When you think about it it makes sense that if your feet are further apart you will possibly be more stable. Having said this I've always kept my boots close together with a slight skew on the rear.
  17. And if your into surfing when your not skiing...
  18. @wooly110 - We've already had a few Kiwi's show up over winter, and skiers from the UK. Just staring to warm up now, early spring and we are hitting 30c already. Water temp is good enough to ski in a jacket only now.
  19. Favorable exchange rates (this week at least) Great skiing and amazing beaches -
  20. Assuming good technique you should never wait to long to have a crack at the next line length, even if your only running gates 1 -2 for the last pass of the set. To unlock the next pass you need to ski it every chance you get.
  21. Years ago I tried this, driving the thing and skiing are both harder than they look.
