Baller ToddL Posted December 8, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 8, 2012 Andy and Deena are having a garage sale tomorrow. I wish I was in Orlando, so I could go. I was thinking... What might be out on the driveway or hung up from the garage door tracks?
Baller ToddL Posted December 8, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted December 8, 2012 I wonder if he still has some of those gigantic checks from past podium wins... I'd buy one of those.

Baller 6balls Posted December 8, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 8, 2012 He must do it with some regularity. When we were skiing with Jodi I think it was Glenn Campbell who stopped by and said Andy was having a garage sale.
Baller SkiJay Posted December 8, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 8, 2012 I wish he'd had a garage sale before he threw the >2,000 skis he had in his Hancock shed into a dumpster last year.
Baller_ Wish Posted December 8, 2012 Baller_ Share Posted December 8, 2012 I ended up with 7 MPDs from a storage locker buy. Someone else bought the locker and didnt know what to do with them. All turned out to be graphic blems and 5 were mint never used. But 2 of them were heavily modified with tails cut, bevels filed, fiberglass added. Pretty sure they were from the master mimself. I live in Orlando but read this to late. By this time of day all the good stuff is gone. :(
Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted December 8, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 8, 2012 @Wish do you still have any of those MPD's? Do they have serial numbers on them (the early ones AM had a hand in had the serial numbers scratched into the top where the bindings would cover them). If you have one in 68" I might be interested. Baller_ Wish Posted December 8, 2012 Baller_ Share Posted December 8, 2012 @Ed Obermerer. Sorry sold them accept the two modified ones. They were all 67s. Was able to pay for my S2 selling them. I kept the two modded ones. I should try them and see the dif. The mods on each are very different.
Administrators Horton Posted December 8, 2012 Administrators Share Posted December 8, 2012 Ed Obermeier I have a 68" MPD on the rack. Was the fist ski I ever ran 38 on. I would sell it but you would not like the price. Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted December 8, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 8, 2012 Just thought if I could find another basically unused early production MPD (mine is serial #0028) it would be worth investing in. Otherwise I'll stick with an RS1 as my backup. I've passed on several for sale, would want an early one if I could find one (likely impossible, I know). You've probably skied most of the good out of yours anyway. :>)
madcityskier
I'd expect to find Deena telling someone that they're not letting that ski go for $15, he broke his own world record on that ski, 3 TIMES! Now come up with $50 or get off of my driveway.
Baller_ The_MS Posted December 10, 2012 Baller_ Share Posted December 10, 2012 I have a brand new 66 That I got from Lonnie H. It was on his rack for a few years after he tested it. I rode it a few times this summer but I liked the 67 MPD better. @ED Lonnie has a 68 also. He rode it maybe 5 times and it is on a rack in his shed. Let me know if you need some info. Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted December 10, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 10, 2012 I don't really NEED one @MS but If I could find a low mileage early edition (one of the ones Andy had a hand in building) at a "reasonable" price I'd be interested. Just for grins you might some day see if Lonnie knows what the serial number on that one is and what he might want for it. Horton doesn't REALLY want to sell his... Baller_ The_MS Posted December 10, 2012 Baller_ Share Posted December 10, 2012 I will ask Lonnie and get back to you. Eddie hand picked and sent them to him.
Baller ThePantsManCan Posted December 18, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 18, 2012 I've got an MPD that is serial #0132. Does anyone think it may have been one of the first skis that Andy had a hand in building?
Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted December 18, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 18, 2012 The lore as told to me was that Andy had a hand in building "the first 100 or so" Radar version MPD's made, not sure about the previous run of Jobe branded MPD's before they were branded Radar. Eddie could tell us much more I'm sure. Is the serial number scratched by hand into the finish somewhere under where the bindings mount? If so that may be a clue it's one he had hands on. Administrators Horton Posted December 18, 2012 Administrators Share Posted December 18, 2012 I do you think that would be a super early ski Goode ★ HO Syndicate ★ KD Skis ★ MasterCraft ★ PerfSki Radar ★ Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes ★ Baller Video Coaching System Drop a dime in the can
Baller ThePantsManCan Posted December 18, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 18, 2012 Yup, this ski has the number scratched into the top sheet under the front boot. That's just super!
