bigtallweed
I see Mirage makes a direct drive ski boat.Has anyone skied behind one and if so how are they?
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 2, 2013 I don't think Mirage Powerboats made it through the economic downturn. Even so, they were geared more as a watersports towboat and not a slalom boat.
bigtallweed
http://www.mirageboats.com/waterski.htm It is listed on their current web site. I have never heard of it. Just curious what it was like.
Baller MarkTimm Posted August 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 3, 2013 This is the same guy that made Tiger Trax ski boats, I heard he also bought the Mirage line. The ski boat is 94 Nautique hull, that is shot with a chopper gun. You want nothing to do with this guy. Do a Google search on Tiger Trax boats. bigtallweed
Is there builders other than the big four getting back into production of good direct drive slalom boats?
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 4, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 4, 2013 Tige never stopped making a direct drive slalom boat.

Baller jackski Posted August 4, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 4, 2013 We slalom in a tournament once a year behind a Gekko, terrific wake. A little wider then the big 4 but soft and really small even a slow speeds which is good for kids.

Baller oldjeep Posted August 5, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 5, 2013 Looks like gekko is back in business as a standalone company again http://www.gekkosports.com/#!news/c1n75 I wonder if they actually make the boats in Prior Lake, or if that is just their office location? Baller oldjeep Posted August 5, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 5, 2013 Thanks, so they make them in TN. Guess I should have searched here first. I sent them an email saturday trying to find pricing for their smaller V-drive, on the off chance that it is in the Moomba Outback V range. Trying to figure out a new/newish boat for next year to replace our runabout and there are not too many options in the affordable 20ish ft v drive category.
