Baller Glock Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 I am dreaming about next summer and some fun ski trips with the wife and kids. My requirements are a place to tent camp (no hookups required), slalom course, and within a 5 hourish drive from Portland. The only place I know of is Lake Billy Chinook. Any other ideas? Baller jcamp Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 Does anyone know if there is a course on Wallowa Lake in Joseph? It looks like it would be a sweet place to spend some time.
Baller sgregg Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 This newspaper article isn't entirely accurate but there are some folks that clearly don't want a course on Wallowa Lake - happy to send a copy of the Marine Board application if anyone wants to give it another go.... http://www.wallowa.com/local_news/20150629/state-rejects-water-ski-course

Baller Ralph Lee Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 Hey @Glock, Ten mile lake near Coos Bay is a great place try. It has one course, sometimes two and the beach/sand dunes is 5 minutes away.
Baller Ralph Lee Posted November 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2015 Prineville reservoir is another good option. A downside there is the wind picks up around 10 am and never goes away.
Members Skirvind
I camped at Cultis Lake out side of bend this summe. Ita boat in tent camping on the west end . Along the sw shoreline there was an acufloat course installed all summer. I assume it will be there again. I posted a pic of my boat there in august. Baller Ralph Lee Posted November 16, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 16, 2015 Cultis is a pretty lake! @Skirvind, what was the water temp?
Baller Glock Posted November 16, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted November 16, 2015 @Skirvind, can you post that pick? Thanks everyone for the tips. Hoping to find places that don't cost a bunch to rent, although it would be awesome to have a private lake to myself.

Baller_ RichardDoane Posted November 18, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted November 18, 2015 @glock - tournament skier ? if so, plan your roadtrip around a couple of event weekends, most sites have free camping, and some have open practice the day or two before
Baller Dirt Posted November 19, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 19, 2015 Listen to @richarddoane he took care of me last summer. The owners at ski park let me camp there for the tournament. It is gorgeous.
Baller Dirt Posted November 19, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 19, 2015 From there I visited Radar Lake with a factory tour courtesy of @eddie_roberts_jr followed by Broho. Awesome! Then on to Winlock and Warman. The only real downside was I had to camp next to Badal. The upside was I got to hang out with @GOODESkier , Richard and Sheila Doane and @robscholl-OF and wife.
