Tdub Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 We pulled ours about a week ago. That water gets cold quickly here in Northern Ohio. This old guy hates cold water. Toasted the season with a few beers, played "Boys of Summer" and called it a season. We drove to Perrysburg yesterday and noticed yours was still in @A_B. I'm impressed. Cheers.
Baller BrennanKMN Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 Pulled it on the 16th of October because the next few weekends were booked up. We didn't want to get stuck in snow pulling it or doing it when the sun is down on a weeknight. Could have easily skied a few more weeks but time wasn't on our side this year so we had to pull the plug.
Baller santangelo Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 Yes, all 130 of them...spoiled.
Baller hiddenskier Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 We've been having amazing weather here in Denver but I'm pulling the course today.
Baller A_B Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 @Tdub Don't be. I skied two weekends ago bareback and that was it for the season. I don't put all the gear on any more. Likely will pull a crazy dry suit skier this coming weekend for his last time and yank the buoys. We put new trailer bunks on this past weekend and just ran out of daylight to pull the course. Just need to mow grass a few more times and move some dirt for a longer shooting range and we will target shoot until snow flys. If I was tournament skiing, I would say we had another month yet with bags on. Chicken Run first Saturday after Thanksgiving up at Pelican. I will likely just drive.
Baller LeonL Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 Still in. Planning to ski a bit longer.
Baller Skoot1123 Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 Still in here in central Illinois, but not sure how much longer. I still want to get some more runs in before hanging it up. It would be awesome to ski in November!
Baller TallSkinnyGuy Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 I have to pull my buoys out after every time I use them, but fortunately Ed's EZ Slalom portable course makes that fairly easy.
Baller jimbrake Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 Still in. All year. Of course I don't see them November through March, but they're there. Waiting.
Baller foxriverat Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 Pulled both courses this past sunday in Northern Illinois. @Tdub I think we have a sporting event to watch that should keep our minds off skiing for at least a week.
Baller skihacker Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 Western New York, still have both courses in but the weather the last week pretty bad, really windy and much cooler, hopefully a couple more runs yet, water level pretty low also.
Baller david_quail Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 This is what happens in Canada when you leave the course, dock, lift, etc in just one weekend too long and are stuck removing in these conditions. Boooo , hiss winter ...
Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted October 25, 2016 Gold Member Posted October 25, 2016 @david_quail B.T.D.T. We were on a helluva lucky run with weather until just a few days ago when a 30 mph wind started blowing and eventually brought 40F temps behind it (and lows in the 20s). But I think @MikeT and I have still got a few more sets in us in the next week and half. We'll pull the course the weekend of the time change (11/6). Not much point in having it after that.
Baller santangelo Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 @Mark_Matis 0 confirmed gators, 1 confirmed Nile Lizard.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted October 25, 2016 Baller_ Posted October 25, 2016 84* today here in the North of Florida! the thing that shuts me down is the short daylight hours.
Baller ALPJr Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 Yes. Stay in all year. Easier to find when the ice melts :)
Baller igkya Posted October 25, 2016 Baller Posted October 25, 2016 Still in (norther NV). Sometimes we pull them, but this year we may leave them in as they need replaced. Still skiing.
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted October 26, 2016 Baller_ Posted October 26, 2016 always in at the Broho, hopefully only frozen in place for a week or two this winter
Baller Fam-man Posted October 26, 2016 Baller Posted October 26, 2016 We finally took our out, waters fallen out of 40, days barely getting above freezing, suns up late and down early and the only use was a muscrat chewing holes in the balls. Feeling jealous of those that ski all year long
Baller thompjs Posted October 26, 2016 Baller Posted October 26, 2016 Here in Houston the Canadians ski all winter.
Baller Bdecker Posted October 26, 2016 Baller Posted October 26, 2016 We leave ours in- just replace what is broken in the spring - ice never moves them
sixball Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Pulled boats Sunday, snowing today! I still have lifts and docks to to do. Getting work done on the lake front. Sure wish it was done so I could wrap up.
Baller LeonL Posted October 27, 2016 Baller Posted October 27, 2016 Water 64 air 74 today. Gonna keep at it until at least next cold front comes through. What we're getting now is bonus stuff for us. Just hit 100 sets today. The problem we face is when it's warm this time of year, it's due a strong south wind.
Baller skihart Posted October 27, 2016 Baller Posted October 27, 2016 Here in eastern Ontario Canada we pulled ours last week. Water was still around 60 but the weather switch was flipped last week. Pulled the boat yesterday and going to do the lift tomorrow. It's been going just below freezing at night and the water temps are plummeting. Fall is tough skiing for us as the wind is a huge challenge so time to pack her in. The next skiing we do will be in Orlando in a month! Looking forward to it.
Baller PatM Posted October 27, 2016 Baller Posted October 27, 2016 Pulled ours last week. The problem we were having was seeing the course, not the weather. Opening pass was fine, next pass I could not see the entrance gates due to the glare this time of year. Lucky to see one ball, went around it and dropped the handle. Done - pulled it. It gets to the point where you are not going to ski well and it is not fun.
Baller Roger Posted October 27, 2016 Baller Posted October 27, 2016 @OB1 - Right now, the west course in the Main lake is 6 buoys. It is normally 8 and will be changed back I'm sure. We changed it to 6 for the Big Dawg/Us Open for side by side competition
Baller_ aupatking Posted October 28, 2016 Baller_ Posted October 28, 2016 I'll be putting new balls on our river course this weekend. 84 and sunny. They'll be in all year, and I'll be turning them. At least once every month of the year.
Baller rfa Posted October 28, 2016 Baller Posted October 28, 2016 I am about half way between @than and @PatM...boats out as of last week...course out tomorrow. I remember when I would ski well into November...must have been much younger then...
Baller bkreis Posted October 28, 2016 Baller Posted October 28, 2016 5 courses worth, in and ready!!! south florida is awesome!!!
Baller Texas6 Posted October 29, 2016 Baller Posted October 29, 2016 @thompjs +1 on the Canadians skiing all winter in Houston - see it every winter - and rarely ever in a wetsuit. Crazy bastards. Water temp yesterday morn in Houston 73
Baller Bulldog Posted October 29, 2016 Baller Posted October 29, 2016 Most Canadians (Like myself) feel that if the water is not frozen it should be skied on... "Do Better..."
Baller ALPJr Posted October 29, 2016 Baller Posted October 29, 2016 60 in CT tomorrow. I'm driving and taking some pic's. Body needs a rest.
Baller parkerc2112 Posted October 29, 2016 Baller Posted October 29, 2016 May have to wear a dry suit a couple times in February but skiing never stops except for injury.
Baller svxwilson Posted October 30, 2016 Baller Posted October 30, 2016 After 2 PBs today we pulled them. End of my first season. Cant wait for next year.
Baller mylemsky Posted October 30, 2016 Baller Posted October 30, 2016 Boats are out. Buoys this week.
