@horton knows not to test that ski. If he did, his ski testing days would be over. He wouldn't be able to give it up after the 20 sets.

The 6.0 is where it's at. That thing survived three seasons with my dad and is finishing off it's third with me and still rips great.

Test rode a T3 a few weeks ago. Wow that ski rips. Feels very different from what I'm riding now. I liked it and ran past my average on the first set. Would like to try one again. There are 3-4 skis on my list to try and this is for sure one of them.

Stock is a very good starting point.

 

L/S of 6.980/2.450/.720/7-8 works well too (67).

68" Stock was pretty good but I ended up moving to 29 15/16 and one hole further back with my rear binding (more spread) from my usual spacing

The fact that horton will not get to this review until two years after he received the ski, is quite revealing about the "review" process.

@RB Could be wrong but I think the T3 Horton unboxed was a joke. It think was for Dirt and Horton got it diverted.

I did ask Horton about a review of theT3 last year already.....I have faith that it will come.....one day.....I am riding a T2 and I woudl love to try a T3 but very difficult to have one to try here in Geneva

I believe it is one of, if not the best ski on the market. I took my first deep water start 14 years ago, at the age of 46. A couple years ago I got on a Mapple 6.0 and was very happy. This Spring, April 2017, I bought a T3 from KLP. He took service to a new level, in my opinion. I visit Kris, just after his leg surgery, he sets up my ski, jumps (maybe not jumps) in the boat, watches this old hack, adjusts accordingly. After a month or so, he calls, says he's going to be in the area, how about he watches and if he likes the settings.

 

My goal this season was to qualify for Nationals in slalom and today I met that goal on a T3 in M6. In large part I thank Mapple Skis, especially Kris & Jeff Rodgers (aka a few tips from Jeff also helped a lot). I won't be scaring the guys on the podium anytime soon, but it is sure a sense of accomplishment for me.

 

Bottom line, do yourself a favor and try this ski.

@Razorskier1, it sure looked like that 4@41could have been a run pass @41. I don't think he'd argue. That ski looked like it was doing exactly what he wanted it to do, but I suppose only he could tell us that. I sure can't

I have had my 67 T3 since 2018, moving from my Radar, tried a couple of newer vapours and then bought the T3. Best decision ever, more space & width than anything I'd previously tried & forgiving were my first and lasting impressions. It added 4 buoys to my PB 2 sets out of the box. 3 years later I'm still on it and while I will retire it at some point I don't plan on changing anytime soon & I'll never sell it. Sentimental I guess.

@skibrent I don't know what kind of line lenghts you run or how much you ski but three seasons on the same ski is a lot.

Have to agree with @Horton longevity of skis. My T-3 was my all time favorite ski and did not want to move on....until it finally broke. Certainly not the fault of the ski. Tons of short line passes over 3 years is asking too much from ANY ski.

I always figured the writing in the torque box was the serial number. Best dang ski ever. This pic is after 3 solid years of use. Again, not the fault of the ski.

@Deanoski dont believe they are going to do that. those molds have probably been re-tooled by now

 

Serial number should be at the tail of the ski, or on the bottom. Only the first run had them in sharpie from what I remember, but they also had a different shape Nose.
