Baller igkya Posted September 4, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 4, 2019 A buddy of mine just got this boat (<200 hrs) and it ran great for 1.5 days. Then we had some issues with loss of power, but with lots of weeds in pond this year, we cleared the prop (putting boat in reverse) and the loss of power went away and engine ran great for a few more passes. When it happened again, the check engine light came on and we limp back to the dock. Temp, oil and other gauges were fine. We disconnect the battery for a bit. Reconnect battery and the check engine light stays out. Tried to ski again and still a significant loss of power. Any thoughts on what may be causing this? Baller Laz Posted September 4, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 4, 2019 Check the fuel filter. Make sure there is no water or crud.

ski6
Check your spark plugs. We had an issue where the boat would appear fine but had no top end Or power and it turned out to be the spark plugs
Baller jdk99 Posted September 6, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 6, 2019 Do you have the touch screen or gauges? If touch screen, are you getting a stage 1 or 2 overheat message? If so, agree with @bigtex2011...start with impeller

Baller igkya Posted September 6, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted September 6, 2019 Thanks for the suggestions. Boat was dropped off at local dealer for a quick diagnosis. Seems to be an issue with #4 & 7 cylinders.
kylegansel
Our friends had the same issue with a brand new MC. Got an error with the cylinders and calling out plugs. Turned out to be a bad oil pressure sensor. Hope it’s a cheap fix for you.
Baller igkya Posted September 7, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted September 7, 2019 Rather than just wait for another trip to the dealer, my buddy pulled #4 & 7 plugs. For brand new plugs (<2 hrs), they were a bit dirty and gapped ~0.70 and 0.68 where specs are at 0.6. Could that be far enough out of tolerance to cause a loss of power? Baller igkya Posted September 7, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted September 7, 2019 Correction/typo... gap was 0.07 and 0.068, should be 0.
