  1. I started slaloming 3 years ago and went to my first tourament that year. Practice was the 6 at 28mph practicing on open water. The first tournament.....3 at 28mph. Last year practice was 6 at 30mph and tourament was 3 at 30mph. This year I went to 2 tournaments and I got 3 at 32mph and practice was 4 at 34mph. I still have a las tournament and my goal is to run the 6 at 34mph (60year old 34 is my speed limit anyway). Tournament is the real thing where it is hapening or not because everything is measured and it is offical, published too. Practice count, I agree but PB at tournament is the ultimate.
  2. 28mph definitly !!!!! and give up the mini course, beter shadow the buoys, more angle with the ski and better turn. I learnt the course 2 years ago and 28mph is a good speed to work on techniques and you have enough time to feel what is going on plus be aware where you are in the course to correct your techniques in all the phases of the course. It worked pretty well for me to have the course cut in phases. And go for it !!!!
  3. The powervest from GOODE, it is going to help you. Horton made a topic + a video on this forum and he used it too
  4. Sure Nate can show us how to stay connected.......wow !!!!
  5. @thrix I live in Geneva, Switzerland and from time to time I go skiing in a private lake where a guy, Alexis Baroni, is part of the MC team. If you wish I can ask him how to get a MC ski here in France or Europe ? Actually I will go next Friday August 5th
  6. It shows the hard work and training we put to run these passes even at 32mph for me. The video is excellent I loved it and looking forward to watch the viedo from @OB1
  7. I believe if you love waterski then you are a baller. That's how I feel even living in Switzerland and beiing a slalom beginner. I don't think there is much other Swiss guys in this site and forum. @Horton could probably answer that better than me.
  8. I agree 100% and I would add that it is your hips and belly who has to be in front of your binding, because if it is your shoulders.....danger zone for otf.....As a slalom beginner, it is very hard and a bit scarry but that is THE position I am trying to get.
  9. I am 60 and I started slalomig 2 years ago on a public lake and I entered 3 tournaments, 2015 - 3 at 28mph 2016 - 3 at 30mph and a month ago 3 at 32mph And of course my goal is the 6 at 34mph and start shortening the rope. That is why my nickname is Chris55 (55km).I feel I still have some good years to improve as long as I am staying in good shape.
  10. @CParrish43 Thank you so much for sharing the news and all the details. Wishing you the best recovery possible and actually the most important thing is you getting healthy and great again. But I will keep you in my thaughts whatever you come back to compet or not.
  11. Hey @CParrish43 how are you ? we just want to know how you are and when you are coming back to tournament to show to the young guys...."The Tower is back".....
  12. I really like @Horton comment and reading it with simple words always help me, thank's.
  13. @Luzz as a novice slalomer waterskier, the SanGervasio tournement was absolutly amamzing, what a performance these guys put on. I loved to watch it (I live in Geneva) Great to have such a competition here in Europe. Great job, no great job sorry, SUPER JOB !!!!!! Love it
  14. Oh yeah....brother......she rocks....seriously, she is strong and I like her style too. She will push herself as well as Regina and Whitney, looking forward to the Malibu
  15. When using Reflex, it is common sense to try the release on shore before hitting the water like Horton on the video and Andy on the other video. Being smart is using other experience, always
  16. Toe side and heel side are hurting my old brain and on-side, off-side are a no brainer, I agree totally. And if I have to translate that in french (my mother tongue) it is even weirder. Every time I hear toe side .....blablabla I have to think at least 30 sec before knowing wich side they are talking about.
  17. @Dirt do you ski at 34mph or 36mph ? I will try next Wednesday my next set and let you know.
  18. I have a T2 67.5" and I am Rff, 6.2 and 170pound I ski at 32mph 15off and working to be consistent at 34mph, 60yold. This stock setting is working great for me and the ski works better when I am more front foot pressure entering the turn after the edge change. I never tried another but if someone has with good comments I am ready to try (my only 3rd season of slaloming) 6.835 Length 2.500 Depth 0.780 DFT 7° wing 29.75 binding
  19. 2nd season with my O'Neill slasher, very comfortable and still good and the season is from late March to end of October. But I agree not the same quality like my 16 years old USCG O'Neill, undestructible
  20. I started slaloming 2 years ago and it is my 3rd season and I was breaking at the waist on my off side turn (I am RFF). Buy pulling my outside shoulder arriving at the buoy and then the hip come around, not the arm for reaching to the handle, that help me a lot. Still working on it but when it is doing right, wow...I am a super skier, that is how I feel as a beginner(34mph at 15off)
  21. By experience, rash guard is not warm. When it is wet......no more warm unless the water is warm. I have a gooru 1.5 O'Neill and it makes the job in the morning especially when it is cold outside and water temp near 60F
  22. I have a slasher since last year, material is very comfortable, dry fast, I love it. When buying it has to be very tight.
  23. Perfski got me a MS handle the size I wanted, engraved and with the colour rope I wanted too in 5 days. When my wife went to the State in May, they sent the handle to the hotel where she was staying for a week and she brought it back here in Geneva. Super service from Perfski, Brian and Bill.
  24. @Horton maybe you can use your influence as THE TESTER of the waterski world :) if you agree with me of course
  25. Reading all the posts again I am surprise that the waterski industry did not put a mark on the ski like alpine skis.....factory setting for the binding is "the ankle bone to the mark on the ski" then if you are 8 or 12 foot size, no more scratching head. Whatever binding you have, just start with the mark and ankle bone. Maybe it will come...hopefully.....it would be so "normal"
