  1. One thing I noticed when I moved from rubber to Reflex white boot is the tip of the boot makes like an arch. And I do remember Andy was skiing bare foot when skiing with rubber, the foot directly on the surface of the ski saying he could feel the reaction of the ski. So he could feel the ski even with his toes, flat on the surface of the ski. Which is not the case at all with the Reflex. Also a main difference with ski boots, the soil is flat. I just want to point out as a 34mph 15 off skier the fact that I do not have a flat soil and not having feeling with and on my toes is of the ski not optimal. I wish I have a relfex with a flat soil that I can put directly on the plate. Does this boot exist ? If not maybe it shoule be ....Or does anyone made some modification for having a flat boot ?
  2. Maybe if I can slalom on glass water...
  3. This sound very intersting so my question is : would it be possible to put the fin on a Mapple T2 for exemple or an Omni and get all the advantage of this new "science" fin ? Thanks for your answer @AdamCord
  4. O'Neill have a size medium tall and it is a really good choice for guy like me. 6'2'' and 170 pound.I agree with @ALPJr . I have a 4/3 mm psycho freak front zip and I skied with 40°F water and 38°air temp. Beside the feet and the hands........no problem and after 2 seasons, it is still in great shape.
  5. @twhisper it looks really great from here. Can we do it from Europe and then would it be possible to pay you by credit card or paypal ? The comparaison side by side + all the comment makes it really good for progress.
  6. I started to slalom 3 years ago at 28mph and this year, I am 61, I just ran 1 at 34mph 15off in a tournament and I did ran the 6 buoys on training. And I will improve......no way I am stoping ......going strong next season !!!!!
  7. @eleeski thank's and yes ....sometimes it is rough and the worse is the rollling waves from other boats and the water's temperature change a lot from summer to now (we had 23°c and now we have 12°c) so I adjust my fin for that and bring my front boot a notch too, thank's to mikro adjust and I can feel the difference even at 32mph 15off or 32 and 22off. We don't really ski at 34mph it could be dangerous if we fall.
  8. After posting for Jim Ross, I learn I really must enjoy every set I ski. Skiing bad or good...don't matter. I love the sport and I will progress more if I ski with happiness every time.
  9. Great to hear it and I'll keep my prays strong still for the best and healthy recovery.
  10. Beiing a 32 - 34mph skier, depend on the water conditions (open water on Lake Geneva) I was not feeling stable enough on my back of the ski and my front of the ski was always high up. I changed my fin setting, after reading Skijay 's book and I could feel the difference immediatly (I went back with DFT and add some lenght. To me, long line skiers should be aware of there fin setting and boot placement too. I can really help when building technical consistancy.
  11. All my energy from Geneva (swiss) and working at the hospital, I can picture what you are going through. I will keep praying really hard for you and hang it there Jim...!!!!! Christian
  12. Last spring I went from Animal HO binding to Reflex white cuff and I really liked it a lot except I found it harder to have front foot pressure. After comparing the 2 bindings I noticed a big difference in the angle between Animal and Reflex. Reflex is straight ....so I did put something to raise my hill and I was much less on my back foot just coasting. But reading this thread I realize I should explore more how much I have to raise my hill and I think it would bring my CG more forward too. Really interesting to read all of this, thank you all
  13. This my third season slaloming.......61 years old and I run for the first time in tournament at 34mph 1 at 15 off. (I did ran it in training...not the same as tournament) I am feeling that I just enter the "real world" of tournament !!!! I love the sport !!!!!
  14. I really love your written reviews and the video is absolutly great as well. So like others, the best is both. So more work for you.
  15. I went from HO Animal to Reflex white cuff last spring and I do the test like Horton every 6 weeks just to be sure. It takes 2 minutes to test it on the dock....safety,safety and safety that's the rule.
  16. I did ask Horton about a review of theT3 last year already.....I have faith that it will come.....one day.....I am riding a T2 and I woudl love to try a T3 but very difficult to have one to try here in Geneva
  17. Here is Freddie at 10.25 or 41 off at Dommartin ProAm 2017
  18. @Than_Bogan you are so right and sorry for misspelling his name...Freddie...... I hope you can forgive me.....but yes talking about it with him was really enlightening espacialy after his broken ankle......fabulous guy and skier
  19. I was lucky enough to watch Freddy Winter, the world champion, to enter 43 off 3 times last week-end in France. Just to watch him skiing through 41 off was pretty amazing. It looked so......easy.....even I know it was not easy. Freddy is having an amazing end this season. Then I had the privilege to chat with him, he is definitly a super nice guy. Freddy if you read this again thank you for spending time with me and the discussion was inspiring. the results are there : iwwfed-ea.org/classic/17FRA018/ Check the names and I can tell you this tournament was world class
  20. I love perfect glass, just the noise of the ski when turning....ssssshhh. It is the ultimum of waterski like powder in snow ski.
  21. I am very curious what the athletes think about the conditions. When you come all the way to France across the Atlantic and even further coming from Australia and skiing in these conditions....going down at 38off or missing the first run in final for Marion Costard.....how do they feel aobut it ???? Can they say something ? Did Chris not ski because of the conditions ? And last but not least, athletes can injures themselves and could be an issue too.....safety in theses conditions are not very good I think. World championship deserve better conditions IMO
  22. I am kind of a beginner slalom skier (3 years and 32mph to 34mph) and I still am too much on the back of the ski, no doubt but when I focus to feel the pressure on my front foot first and initiate the turn with my front foot and my front knee, I can feel that I am way more efficient. And then if I can keep my ankle and knees bend forward when crossing the wake and standing like a proud chest, the handle come naturally to my hips and that put a big smile on my face at the end of the set. I do a lot of 32mph stes to get muscle memories too and good luck to you @dhofert
  23. Hi Ballers, friend of mine just received a Connelly Prophecy 66 from 2009 and I am looking for the fin and binding factory setting . I sent an email at the factory but no answer yet since a week. So if someone has it, I would apreciate it and thank's in advance.
  24. Great skiing @MarcusBrown, looks like your body did not forget how to slalom and the ski looks very intersting too. I have to look how I could try one here in Switzerland or near France !!! Thank's again for sharing
