  1. I have size 13s and run the stock binding setting. I tried 1/8 forward and back, landed on the stock, maybe a nudge back.
  2. I need to start working more OT right now!
  3. @Keith_Menard I think it’s a problem of making the app work on most androids, which is more difficult than the small number of iPhone variants. Just a guess though.
  4. Breaking a tib-fib isn't hard to do, especially in a twisting fall like he had. Another guy I skied with in that same group broke his front foot tib-fib when the same kind of twisting fall happened but he was lucky that only the one leg let go. It's a lot harder to deal with recovery when both legs are out of commission. Both of them went to release binding systems after their falls, one on an FM and I can't remember the other. Leg and ankle injuries due to non-release binding systems happens often enough that there are plenty of threads on BoS about them happening. Yes, bad things can happen in any system and it's always good to let go to ski another day. This is a fast sport and bad things can happen faster than a person can react. In those cases, the safety equipment between your ears is ineffective. Everyone should ski the binding style they want and feel comfortable with, it doesn't influence me one bit. I personally don't care if Joel uses that system or if Manon has a strap on her RTP, it's their decision. I use the MOB with RTP because that's what I'm comfortable with after breaking my ankle in a previous wreck. That's what gives me enough confidence to enjoy this awesome sport.
  5. My parents always had a tube when I was a kid. I still loved skiing and couldn't wait to every time going out. We went to a public lake so skiing was first and the tube didn't come out until the number of boats was too much for a ski. I definitely don't feel like tubing ever took away from my love of skiing and we always got friends to ski whenever possible. It's all about having fun on the water and making lifetime memories.
  6. @Wish I know a guy who used to ski in a double hard shell setup without release. He broke both legs in a crash, tib-fib broken on both. He went to a double release after that. No thanks.
  7. Corey Vaughn is a great coach and fun guy. Don’t hesitate to get coaching from him. You can then video yourself skiing back home and get continued coaching in between visits to his place. I’m going down there again in a couple weeks for two sets and can’t wait.
  8. I thought leaded engines stopped production around 1979, even in boats. They figured out how to make valve seats that were strong enough to not need the leaded gas and it was mostly implemented by then, even in inboards and I/Os.
  9. @GarberoG do you have some pics? Did you call Radar customer service before posting about it?
  10. “Just don’t be a dick .” I tried that once, it wasn’t for me. Just kidding, I like not being banned…
  11. Which sizes do you have?
  12. Manon seems to be doing just fine LFF.
  13. This year I got the O’Neill Hyperfreak posted above. Being real long and thin I needed a tight fit but in a tall size. It fits perfect and I don’t notice it when skiing . If you need a taller size it’s a great option.
  14. Do you leave it in the sun when at the dock on the boat? Do you dunk it in the water when it's been in the sun for even 10 minutes on one of those really hot days? The thermal shock could cause delamination. Just a thought, I'm no ski expert.
  15. @chrislandy That's honestly what I was hoping you did. I'm not getting into the nerd on this one due to lake of time but do find the discussion and evaluations interesting. @Horton I can say with definite certainty that surf waves are considerably more damaging for shorelines than wakeboarding when on a lake. We first only had wakeboarding at my parents' place and it wasn't horrible. When the wakesurfing came along our shoreline degradation increased quickly and we had to increase the size of riprap and height of the shore buildup handle it.
  16. @chrislandy what did you assume for the wave mass in each case? Edit: should have asked how you determined the wave mass
  17. And a big thank you to @oldjeep!
  18. I had pain after my first inguinal hernia surgery. During my last umbilical incisional hernia surgery the surgeon took a look down there and removed some scar tissue. Pain was gone after that. My last surgeon also doesn't believe in going full throttle just 4 weeks after surgery. He said it's what the patient wants to hear but isn't what's best for the body. I'm not a doc so can't comment beyond what he said and knowing that I feel great having followed his direction.
  19. Ok, no to wakeboarding anywhere but yes to making fun everywhere. Got It!
  20. @Horton it seems like you are essentially saying anything other than sports beyond skiing or ski cross training. Am I understanding correctly? I'm really not trying to be difficult, just seems to be a hazy line and I don't want to cross it.
  21. I would like clarification of what is and is not allowed in the "other other stuff" category. Beer and where to sell a travel trailer are allowed but pointing out a crazy wake boat is not. This is confusing to me and I don't want to get in trouble.
  22. I definitely agree that streaming is the future. The real challenge is how to get noticed among the crowd of content. In the end, I'm just happy we can watch pro events at home. Like many, I love the increases in quality and if I catch it a few hours after the start it's easy to fast forward.
  23. @rayn I actually find the pull load, heart rate, and speed/acceleration information great for discussing pro skiing with my non-skiing friends. They can't get a feel for the speed, strength, and skill just by watching. Many understand force from basic lifting and speed is easy to picture. A force at your hands and through your legs while trying to move through boat wakes at crazy speeds is what makes it interesting. The more tangible competitive numbers, multiple views, and personal interviews the better. It's what today's sports viewers are used to.
