  1. @chrislandy now that is just down right mean?? just for that you have earned yourself a lake Curlew panda from the Wednesday night crew
  2. This week as promised 3/4 of the Wednesday night crew skied lake Whatcom near Bellingham (no @Rednucleus ☹️) we skied in the am and had good water for most of our time. The lake is very long with fantastic scenery and some beautiful homes. Doug was able to try out his new barefoot suit! Had a great day on the water with 2 of my 3 best friends! Finished things off with a Cinco de Mayo lunch at Doug’s. Had tongue tacos, pulled pork tacos, chips and salsa and a few Coronas. Next week staying local with a trip to Big lake. Stay tuned PS sorry @Rednucleus that you couldn’t join us the tongue tacos were excellent no room left even for a thin mint?
  3. @6balls ask and you shall receive. Here are your triple lake Curlew pandas from the Wednesday night crew for @Horton
  4. 3/4 of the Wednesday night crew were back at it yesterday minus @Rednucleus ☹️. We skied lake Samish located just south of Bellingham. We were able to use the dock of my son-in-law’s grandfather as our home base many thanks?. The water conditions weren’t ideal but we made the best of it. Even found a course set up on one end of the lake. No PB’s were set but it was good to chase the balls for the first time this year! Beautiful scenery as a backdrop for our skiing. Finished things off with lunch at my house. BBQ elk steaks, mashed potatoes and homemade split pea with ham soup was on the menu. Felt almost like a true Wednesday night ? just need to get @Rednucleus to join us sometime (still looking for a vet to hire so he can have Wednesday’s off) next week lake Whatcom. Stay tuned
  5. A few years ago the Wednesday night crew were skiing our usual Wednesday night time slot at Bow lake. After skiing our sets and enjoying dinner Doug decided to do some bare footing which he did most every week after dinner. @Rednucleus was driving while Ken and I were watching from the clubhouse area. Doug did a few up and backs and when he was finished and went to climb into the boat there was no swim platform attached to the boat anymore! No one noticed it coming off during his footin set. It was a fiberglass swim platform with metal brackets so it went straight down to the bottom of Bow lake. We spent countless hours dragging for it over that summer with no luck. Even tried a few fish finders to try to locate it. To this day it is still somewhere at the bottom of Bow lake ☹️
  6. @hammerski here is your official lake Curlew panda from the Wednesday night crew for that picture. The tattoos are cool the toes are not! Thanks for putting that visual in our minds?
  7. 3/4 of the Wednesday night crew were back skiing Big lake today ( no @Rednucleus ☹️) sunshine and warm low 60’s today but the water had a fair amount of wind chop so conditions weren’t great but as Doug says “any day on the lake skiing is better then a day at work” going to try out lake Whatcom next week stay tuned
  8. @Rednucleus WOW! Will wonders never cease! I thought you would be the last member of the Wednesday night crew to ditch the dry suit being the cold blooded person you are. I am really impressed. Did you pay Gordon extra to turn in the heater on?☹️
  9. 1/2 of the Wednesday night crew skied Big lake again last night (just Doug and myself) but we were joined by Mrs @cougfan for her first ski of the year ? had to put up with a pontoon boat pulling a tube and 3 jet skis for a while ☹️ After they left the water calmed down and was very skiable? Finished off the very warm week by skiing Monday Wednesday and Friday. Gotta love spring in the PNW!
  10. The band is back together! The full membership of the Wednesday night crew got together and free skied Big lake yesterday. Yes we finally got @Rednucleus to join us ? we are enjoying some warm spring weather this week and the water is warming up. Finished up the night with some fantastic burgers at the Big Rock Roadhouse. Forgot my phone on the dock so no pictures to prove @Rednucleus was really there? you will just have to take my word for it. Next week back to our quest of a different lake each week. Stay tuned
  11. 3/4 of the Wednesday night crew ( no @Rednucleus ☹️) took advantage of the spring weather Monday and free skied Big lake after work. Weather and water conditions were great. Had the lake to ourselves. How great to start skiing at 5 pm and finish at 7:30 and still be light out?? Weather is supposed to be great all week so we are heading back out Wednesday after work with @Rednucleus finally joining us. Time to get the band back together!
  12. @Horton after viewing the leader board I must ask Isn’t this like letting the wolf guard the chicken coup or the kettle calling the pot black or something smells fishy or whatever the appropriate saying is for “I think this is rigged”? ?☺️????
  13. The Wednesday night crew changed things up and skied last night after work well 1/2 of us (no Ken who was snow biking and no @Rednucleus who was busy doing vet things) great way to finish up the day! Water in Big lake is warming up and the air was a very nice 59? Each of us got in 2 long sets of feee skiing. Supposed to be rainy and cool today so probably no skiing ☹️
  14. Well I guess this means we won’t be able to compete in today’s bass fishing tournament ☹️
  15. @Rednucleus you can say that again ? @AdamCord should have known better than to have you try to video him after seeing the way you struggle with your flip phone? Glad to see you got a ski in! Remember you are always welcome to join the rest of the Wednesday night crew on our Wednesday adventures
  16. This thread isn’t for the ballers from Florida or California who complain when the water temp drops below 70 and the air temp is below 80 and who ski pretty much year around in shorts and a rash guard occasionally having to put on a wetsuit ??☺️? This thread is for the ballers who live in the colder climates and have to deal with their lakes freezing over. With the days getting longer and the weather warming up it’s time you guys got back on the water! Those of us who are lucky to have our lakes stay thawed and have been in dry suits since November using the boat heater hot water shower or an ice chest full of hot water to be able to ski welcome the chance to get back to skiing in a wet suit. Hope you all had a good winter! Like my friend Doug says “you can ski to get in shape or you can get in shape to ski” choose wisely☺️ Here’s to all of you getting back out there enjoying what you love to do SKI
  17. @Andre couldn’t have said it better myself ?? That’s what the Wednesday night crew is all about the 3 F’s Food Fun Fellowship
  18. After taking last Wednesday off due to the heavy amount of liquid sunshine the Wednesday night crew was back at it this week minus @Rednucleus ☹️. Still need to find a vet willing to fill in for him on Wednesday ? We skied Campbell lake on Fidalgo island which is near Oak Harbor the home of Naval Air Station Whidbey which explains the numerous Navy planes flying overhead all day plus the Navy helicopter that came over and hovered above the lake. Pretty cool to see the spray rising from the lake caused by the rotors. Back to skiing Doug and I free skied for 5hrs with Doug mixing in a couple of barefoot sets while Ken was our designated driver due to his recent hand surgery☹️ Doug and I even skied a set for @Rednucleus 15off @32 Weather was sunny 56 few clouds and the water was very comfortable upper 40’s Next week another lake another adventure
  19. @Clydesdale is that a boat or did part of the dock break loose? ?
  20. It is with much sadness that I inform you ballers that due to circumstances beyond our control that the Wednesday night crew will no longer be calling Bow lake our Wednesday night ski home☹️ We had a great run and a big shout out to Doug Spady for hosting us during our time there! But just like everything else time marches on and things change. We have decided to take up the challenge of skiing a different lake / river each week. We will be traveling up and down the west side of the state looking for ski sites and will also travel over to the east side in search of flat water. Anyplace that we can ski and still be home that night is in the plans. There are many possible sites that qualify and we are looking forward to this new adventure / quest! We plan on skiing locally on the weekends and traveling on Wednesday since 3/4 of the Wednesday night crew are available on that day (still need to find a fill in vet for @Rednucleus so he can join us) We are also planning some week long trips to our favorite ski sites this year. Anyone that has any suggestions for possible ski sites would be welcome! We are up for most anything We will be posting our weekly outings so you ballers can track our progress. Stay tuned!
  21. @ALPJr it was quite the adventure! Saw so many interesting things from the water that you can’t see from the highways and city streets of Seattle and other lakeshore roads. @Fastguy888 don’t really know how far we went but we covered the whole lake from north to south and back while going on a couple of detours and we even circled Mercer Island! Yes we did stop for gas at a marina on lake Union better safe than sorry ? didn’t want to chance having to paddle all the way back with our skis? Was one of my best days on the water skiing and enjoying 2 of the Wednesday night crew. We just need to get @Rednucleus to join us on our weekly Wednesday outing/adventure. Anyone know of a young veterinarian looking for a job??
  22. Yesterday 3/4 of the Wednesday night crew (no @Rednucleus he was busy doing vet things ☹️) skied lake Washington. We started on the north end in Kenmore and skied to the south end Renton passing under 2 bridges along the way ( the 520 and I-90) the water conditions were great with smooth water all the way down and most of the way back. The scenery and views were spectacular! We saw Mt Baker to the north the Cascade range to the east Mt Ranier to the south and the Olympic range to the west. We did take a couple of detours to do some sight seeing along the way. We boated into a canal lined with houses with boats tied up in front and went through the Mountlake canal arriving in lake Union. Couldn’t ski this lake as the whole lake was a “no wake zone”☹️ Made it all the way to the Ballard locks that get you into the Puget Sound before turning around. Went through the industrial port area of lake Union with all its fishing and crabbing boats and tugs tied up. Quite the sight seeing trip to go along with a great day of free skiing with 2 of my 3 best friends. Another epic adventure for the Wednesday night crew! We will be skiing a different lake next week. Stay tuned
  23. @Rednucleus here is my own symbol for awesome for your post since I can only click once on the thread ????????
  24. Doug and I skied Clear lake this morning (no Ken or @Rednucleus ☹️) water mid 40’s air low 50’s perfect conditions. We were the only ski boat on the water just a few people fishing around the outside of the lake had the middle all to ourselves. Great day to be out in the lake!
  25. 3/4 of the Wednesday night crew (no @Rednucleus ☹️) skied lake Stevens today in the brilliant sunshine. Water low 40’s air low 50’s. Perfect day to be out on the lake! All skied and Doug did some long line footin and some footin off the boom. Only boat on the lake and the view of Mt Pilchuck was pretty cool except most of the time there were some clouds in the way the only clouds in the sky the rest was clear and blue! Next we will be skiing lake Washington stay tuned?
