  1. @BraceMaker , you have a dumb ass way of making an assumption out of a simply stated fact. What I said applies to anyone who wants to ski tournaments, but more so, when you have to make a living from it. I could care less what pro skiers thoughts are on this matter, so you tag them, you brought it up! You keep trying to make it about this one issue and it's deeper than that, but you make no sense with your comments and you certainly haven't learned from previous remarks from others statements regarding AWSA in general. Who the hell are you? Tell us about your background!
  2. @BraceMaker. They will take the course because they make Living skiing, they have no choice!
  3. @vtmecheng : You seem to think it's just one thing, a movie, it's a culmination of things over a long period of time. So, please don't point a finger at us as being "losers," take the time to go back and read 20 + pages of threads before you make stupid comments!
  4. @BraceMaker , I have no idea what you mean by your comments! I did move on, I dropped out awsa 14 years ago. Also, FYI, I was a member for almost 30 years.
  5. @lpskier : Didn't criticize your skiing, point is that it's a lot more fun winning or placing when there are a lot of skiers. I've taken 1 thru 5 places in S. reg and MW, and several top ten finishes and a 6th in Nationals(men 4 with 65skiers), just saying I think it's a lot more satisfaction when there are lots of skiers. which is why I don't go now.
  6. @lpskier : That really the way you want to win? I ski very competitively with the top skiers in my division(Men 9) but no way an I going to a regionals with only 6 skiers in the southern region, and maybe 7 or 8 skiers the nationals. When they went to five year divisions along with all the other BS awsa has done in the last 25 years I paid my last membership in 2008.
  7. I've had both shoulders dislocate( different times) going out the front on pre-release of reflex binder( my fault, not enough tension on release) about 15 years ago. Back skiing in 60 days but be careful not to dip your hand in the water. I have both biceps detached from shoulder and both rotator cuffs are torn(over a period of 10yrs.) back in the early 2 thousands. Never got anything fixed as it does not affect skiing. With palms up I can hardly lift 8 lbs, I still go to gym, use a smith machine for benches with no problem. No pain, some times a little pain in right shoulder if sleeping on it. I was 65yo when my left bicep detached at a tournament. Happen to have a doctor(skier) there and said at my age, don't worry about it! Point is, pain will go away and you can ski. There will be some muscle strength lost, but won't stop you from skiing. I'm 76 and still skiing at a competitive skill level. I could have had major surgery but did not think the benefits of it to be worth the down time. Good luck
  8. Confused on divisions from website. What is men's1 thru men's 7, and same with women?
  9. @MillerTime38 : Is there any chance that I could get a copy of the permit? I'd be more than happy to reimburse you and @mjump for the costs incurred to get the permit.
  10. If you did not watch the 55K finals this morning then you missed a class act by Kyle Tate! Congrats to all the skiers.
  11. @Cnewbert : I did PM millertime, got no response.
  12. @Cnewbert : I believe in the older thread that they had the course permitted. Anyone know if a course is still allowed or if residents or park shut it down. Wonder if it was a permanent or floating course?
  13. @mjump: Is the slalom course no longer allowed on the lake?
  14. I'm interested in moving from central FL to N. Fl in the Lake City area. I saw an older(2017) thread regarding skiing at Ocean Pond by skiers @mjump and @MillerTime38. Does anyone know if skiing is still going on there or are there some other sites near by?
  15. I have a 2021 Senate Pro, 10 to 12 sets , $1025 delivered price in US
  16. @Stevie Boy : I had the same problem with the 2021 Senate Pro. I could never dial in the off side(lff) and I didn't like it in choppy water. I borrowed a 2017 Vapor pro and it was like "wow," the off side came back. I probably had 10 to 12 sets on the Senate, so mine is for sale if anyone is interested. It's a 67" . In fairness, my ski partner runs 35off/34mph and loves his Senate though he thinks it has taken him as far as it can go and is going to start looking at higher end skis.
  17. @buechsr : I understand your logic, but don't agree with the amount. The amount is absurd and not only in this case, but thousands of legal cases nation wide. Will any amount make the parents feel better, so why $625,000 and not $$10,000. We just lost 13 brave soldiers and iIdon't think their parents are going to get $625,000, it's a lawyer scam.
  18. It's the "pain and suffering" that I think is bull s---T! 75 mil just for that is stupid.
  19. I saw another law suit against a boat company on FB( don't remember company) because their kid died of CO2 poisoning by sitting on the platform or back of boat. This is why insurance rates keep going higher, parents not taking responsibility for their actions.
  20. As I said in a previous post, got a new Reflex binder from them three weeks ago, got it next day, no freight charge. I have gotten filters for my 6.2 about 60 days ago, no problem. I did call in and placed my order. I demoed a Omega Max from them last spring. Didn't like the ski, sent it back and refund given, though it did take two weeks. These are good people, always friendly.
  21. @m-pags: Where is your lake?
  22. If it's just a lake with access only for home owners, then the HOA has nothing to do with it. If you have a community boat ramp then that is the only liability and I'm sure the HOA has insurance for it. I lived in this situation and we only insured liability for ramp. If it's a man made lake on private property, then different story. In FL, no one owns the water, the state does. If it's not permitted then get one, probably grand fathered in. If your trouble maker is being paid, then he would need a business license, so report him to the county.
