  1. That coiled rope and handle still near you could of been real bad. Glad you're ok.
  2. Give yourself two gifts . The shoulder , and a Goode power vest . I had labrum and rotator cuff surgery a few years back , and gave myself the gift of a power vest . $600 may sound like alot of money compared to other vests , but I couldn't come up with a price tag for not skiing . Heck , I usually lose that much money each time I sell my used skis .
  3. @ColeGiacopuzzi thought you were teasing us with an old Strada video. Looking forward to trying the new ski. This ski is actually making me think more.....Think I'll get one , think I'll get one , think I'll get one .
  4. @ColeGiacopuzzi is that also the new Mastercraft ?
  5. Logan McLain just sounds like a racers name to me. Looks like this waterskier has a shot at the Olympics now. Looking forward to following him. Awesome family !
  6. Looks like a few too many zero's on your price.
  7. This will not help your paper , but the best training for my slalom skiing is to train my arms not to pull in, do not roll my shoulders back , and use as least muscle strength as possible. Looking forward to reading your paper when completed. Keep us posted.
  8. Looks like more than 90% of the weight on the front foot . That is one bad ass dude. Thanks for the video @ToddL
  9. Thanks for all of the info. Glass has been ordered and is on its way.
  10. My neighbor needs driver side glass for his '07 196. Have anything @Jody_Seal ? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank You Ballers
  11. Our set screws are used for adjusting , not clamping , so the anti burr nylon insert isn't necessary for us.
  12. Might have to spend a few months working in Florida this summer. Skiing with Freddie should help to ease my homesickness. Had a great time skiing with Brooks and Travis a few years back.
  13. Thanks for the replys. I will pass this on to our board members. Pictures and the info would be very nice Tim. Post them here or you can e mail them to Charlie. He will be involved in this project. Thanks
  14. Thanks for all of the good information . we will be rocking our shorelines this spring . We will be putting down 2.5 " rock on 5 of our 6 shorelines ( Ski West Village ) . The total price will be roughly 40 K including material and tractor work . Adding an extra 5 K for the fabric seems like the way to go . The one price that I got was 11 cents per square foot . After reading through this thread , it seems that the route to take would be to add dirt where we have cliffing , get our grade back , throw down the fabric , then cover with rocks . Any feedback would be greatly appreciated . Our lake is down now , so there are roughly 3 feet of exposed shoreline that will be covered when we bring the level back up . Thanks Steve

  16. @Horton , these are Verniers , they pre - dated the dial calipers. Out of habit , people call dial calipers " Verniers " The top numbers are imperial , bottom is metric. You look to see where the zero of the moving jaw ends up , look at how many lines ( each one is .025 ) it is past the number then try to figure out which line is lining up on the scale of the moving jaw. This measurement is .462 , maybe ? Sure glad they invented dial calipers before I started needing them at work.
  17. Remind me not to come by the next time you are cleaning your boats floor. Don't you know the neighbors are home.
  18. There must of been some magic in that old sun hat they found .... For when they placed it on his head , he began to ski around.
  19. Dials are fine if the rack gear is not exposed. Verniers are way too hard for us older guys to read. For those who do not know , a vernier measurement is made by seeing which lines line up on the stationary and moving parts of the calipers. Hence the name " very - near " calipers.
  20. There is an Excalibur 343 engine for sale on Ski It Again for around 3K . That is the motor that you want . Some of the lucky guys got them in their 02's long before ZO was around . Skip Dunlap is selling it . He is a very reputable Nautique guy .
  21. A friend of mine is searching for a late model 196. I recomended one with the 6 L engine to him. Don't know too much about them , but people seem to love em. Any down sides to this option ? I've heard better power , better fuel consumption , and closed cooling doesn't require winterizing . What about the wake ? Any difference ? Will not be used for jumping. Thanks
  22. With a PB into 35 off , I feel you are cheating yourself if you don't try The Vapor. The 14 is an awesome ski , and can be had for a few hundred more dollars. Any 2014 Vapors out there for a cheap price for Alex ?
  23. Congratulations Brooks. Welcome to the west coast. Radar is lucky to have you on their team. When I heard the news , I was happy for you and your career , but a bit sad for all of the skiers that rely on your coaching , myself included. I'm sure your hectic schedule will still allow you to do a bit of coaching when you are out there promoting the brand. Enjoy the next chapter of your life !
  24. And I thought you were looking to trade .......
  25. Do you start with a double over hand grip ? If not , try that and slightly lowering the handle towards your front foot will help transfer the load as you take off. Another tip is remove the dowels from the gloves , and remember to open your hands if you get into a handle pop situation coming out of a turn. Because the handle will not pop out of your hand , and you may get flung into the wakes. The vest saved my back , but jacked my ribs. Love my Powervest ! Now that I know how to use it.
