  1. @TWB & @dbski Did the exact same thing here too. After three straight days of skiing in November I need a good month to recover and get ready for the Polar Bear Ski in December.
  2. SkiDoc ppylon mount, Samsung phone and the wake app., without any zoom. Video is 32.4 @15 off.
  3. @TWB Watched you get around 5 a couple of times, would of loved to been there to see it.
  4. Had a lot of ups and a few downs this year. My highlight of the season, all the great people I've met on this site, @MISkier , @TWB , @RAWSki to name a few, everyone at Travers and one at the tournaments I entered this year. Would of liked to have been able to shorten the rope at a tournament, (next year), but was able to get 5@28 off a couple of times during practice. On the plus side, a trophy, skied fairly consistently, didn't get hurt and skied through most of my problems after a year off because of injury. Next year, more of the good things.
  5. This is my first year skiing in tournaments and having some difficulties swimming to shore with my jacket on, ( O'Neill Revenge - non USCG), not something that I have had to do before. I'm not the best swimmer but I'm not the worst, at one time I did had a Red Cross lifesaving cert. Is there a jacket that you prefer for swimming to shore. On a side note anyone that's skiing with pro-lock glove and Strada/Vapor bindings, have you had problems getting the laces undone. If so any suggestion to make that easier would be helpful.
  6. Had a great time at Tivoli Gardens yesterday, (even with a set in the rain), the last stop of the Michigan Ability series. Some how ended up in second place in Division A. Next question is what kind of trouble did I get myself into by entering a record tournament next weekend. I have not been able to run a complete pass 15@34.2. I have run it in practice about 80% of the time and when I've shortened the rope 22, made it about 3 out 5 attempts.
  7. @Andre That's Buddy. I got him after my acident last year. @MISkier Thanks, always nice to meet another Baller. Hope we have a better chance to talk at the tournament at Tivoli. That second round came up quick, barely caught my breath before jumping back in. @TWB Didn't quite get that full pass at 15@34.2, but came close.
  8. Had a long day yesterday. Now nice practice set with @TWB then off to the other side of the state for the novice finals. Ended up with a first place in my class.
  9. After skiing very poorly Thursday morning I noticed that both of my Strada bindings had tears down the back seam, luckily I have a pair of RS1's on a backup ski. Bindings are 2012 model that I picked up spring of 2014. Used them a couple of times in the fall and all of this year. Took them back to the local pro shop, ( Skier's Pier), around noon to see if anything could be done under warranty. Thinking that I wouldn't hear back from them till after the holiday weekend at the earliest. Well I was very wrong about that, around 5 that afternoon I got a call from the pro shop that I can come in and pick up my new pair of 2015 bindings.
  10. May need to plan a long vacation, was planning to go down to Austin the week before the tournament to watch the F1 race.
  11. Robert, hope it was coming towards the dock so you wouldn't have that long walk back. Both Tom and you skied very well. I'm just glad a different fall going through the gates like the week before. Not sure if we can make it for the July tournament, but I'm entered in the one Sept., (pre birthday gift). Next one for me is at Wixom in July.
  12. Second set off the dock 32.4 @15 off. Coming back at 34.2 @ 15 off.
  13. Well yesterday was picture perfect day for my first tournament. The people at Hidden Lake couldn't of been nicer. You could tell that it wasn't their first rodeo. The collegiate skiers there ran the starting dock like clockwork. The drivers and boat judges were very helpful and encouraging and helpful. My first set a ran an ugly 15@30 to start with then moved to 32 and got around 4 ball a couple of times. Second set started off running 15@32 and ending getting around 5 ball at 15@34 on my last pass. Not sure if it is a good thing or not a did not fall on any of my passes, though I came close a couple of times. Think I'm hooked. I would also like to thank all of the Ballers for your help and encouragement. Last year at this time I wasn't sure if or when I would be able to ski again, let alone be able to ski in a tournament. A big thank you to my friends in Texas, @gregy @ToddL @Moskier3ev , hope to get down there in the fall for the F1 race and few sets. @RAWSki a big thanks for pulls behind that new Carbon Pro along with @TWB for the pulls at your site. @MISkier your check list was greatly helpful and thorough. Again a big THANK YOU to all of you and this site, ( @Horton Good wishes for a speedy recovery).
  14. Fun, making sure that no matter how I ski I'm still having fun.
  15. I need to say thanks to all for your advice on skiing tournaments. Hoping to have a lot of fun this Saturday skiing and meeting some new fellow skiers. @TWB Hope you feel that way after the tournament.
  16. A big thanks to @RAWSki and all the people at Hidden Lake, had a great time skiing behind the Carbon Pro along with meeting some new friends. Also heard that Seth was in area doing a clinic. Is there someplace that you can find out about clinics in your area? Seems like things like this can be secretive here.
  17. Finally got back in our own course this morning with just perfect conditions till I got to the end and no gates. Made it interesting coming back just rounding 1 ball and going from there.
  18. New module and GPS puck, not happy that both went but PerfectPass helped out on price and overnight shipping.
  19. @TWB Thanks for the kind offer, message sent.
  20. @ToddL Unfortunately all the people a ski with are over 40, problem is most are still confused about timing systems along with the chance to metric. Speedo on boat is gps and the course doesn't look like its going up this week. @Than_Bogan Haven't skied a tournament yet, but have completed in other sports and would say that I have never been nervous to go out and preform. Skiing at Jack's last month with all the great skiers there watching and/or in the boat didn't bother me at all. Hope the tournament the same way.
  21. Looks like the master mod. on our PP system went out over the holidays, new one should hopefully here Fri. Drive by hand speed control of a week :'(
