  1. Unless there is a warming trend, we will be iced over by the first week in October. High today of 37 degrees. At least we have another week of skiing before it freezes over.
  2. @Horton - Thanks for the Vapor review and specific details related to setup. Looking forward to your next ski review.
  3. I went to Warman last weekend with a previous tournament PB of 2.5 @ 35 off. Got on the Vapor just 3 weeks ago and rode the Vapor to a new tournament PB of 2 @ 38 off and I was in the pass, just didn't get back to the handle. Look out next season Ballers, I think I will get a 38.
  4. @Horton - fin settings? From the comments here on BOS. I have gone from DFT .755 to .765, Length 6.870 to 6.867, no change to depth 2.480, wing 9. Bindings back to 29 3/4 from 29 7/8. Ski is 67".
  5. @ShaneH - On the 196's was there a noticeable difference in rooster tail and wash behind the boat between the 3 blade 470 and 4 blade 422?
  6. @Horton - Great skiing! Have you settled on binding placement and fin settings, if so would you mind sharing them?
  7. O.K. you guys have me confused. Is Rossi riding a 67 or 66? @richarddoane - what length is your ski? I thought you rode a 66.
  8. The 67" Vapor was good to me last night. I got around 3 ball a 38 behind ZO for the first time. I am 6'2" 185 lbs 49 years young, left foot forward. My fin is set at 2.480 6.870 .755 9 deg. Bindings are now close to 30 @ 29 15/16 or 29 7/8. I too am having a hard time getting a good one ball even though that is my onside. I have to tell myself setting up for the gate to go out easy. This ski feels like it just wants to keep going out with so little effort. I am getting really wide but by the time I go through the gate going into one ball I am narrow and down course. Any suggestions?
  9. @Horton - Do you still keep a spreadsheet of each ride when testing skis? If so, any chance you could make it viewable on the site?
  10. I know the Big Dawgs are 34 mph skiers and the Goode skis seem to perform well for the women at 34 mph, but when it comes to open men's division, the picture is nearly the complete opposite. I just can't help thinking it is the skier and not the ski. I am pretty sure guys like Mapple, Bedal and others are capable of winning Big Dawg tournaments on brands other than Goode.
  11. @markchilcutt - 6.870, is that with tips? Do you use a slot caliper.
  12. @richarddoane and other Ballers - What fin settings are you using for the Vapor and what is your DFT for your front binding?
  13. I have often wondered if the guys having problems with their StarGazer system should replace the antenna. I like the redundancy of having two like ZO even though you only need one.
  14. What happened with Mapple? He was on a role.
  15. How much are the replacement antenna pucks for the Star Gazer? I am thinking I would like to have a spare.
  16. @richarddoane - I second @markchilcutt - give us a little something for the imagination while we wait for delivery. Are you running PBs on your Vapor? How does it feel compared to the STRADA?
  17. @GOODESkier - Is there a private ski lake in Wilsonville, OR?
  18. @ShaneH -Thanks, When the guys including myself have to work this hard to find somehting to dislike about the boat, it says a lot about the effort the MasterCraft Team put into the design. I like it.
  19. Is the new MaterCraft certified to pull tournaments? If Will or Nate would have broke the record would it have even counted?
  20. Nautique must have the adjustable rudder patented, if not why is it not installed? When the wife and kids drive the boat you lessen the torque for safety, when it's time to run the coarse you load it. I will never own another boat without this feature.
  21. Great news, I was hoping Rossi could put the Vapor on the mens podium. What an accomplishment considering the competion. Whitney finished 1st in womens if you did not already know.
  22. 1997 Ski Nautique GT-40, Perfect Pass Star Gazer with Z-Box and the newest updated software that inlcudes the new + settings.
  23. Are you telling us everything? How loose were the top strings? Did you check the tightness on the platform by making sure the heel of the liner lifts out of the shell easily before getting in the water? I know one individual who put a orthotic between the boot and the liner. He was a snow skier and he thought the RS-1 bindings needed to be tighter and took no consideration for how they were designed to release. With the extra orthodic he pulled the top strings as tight as they would go and broke his ankle in bad crash.
