@nomad41 - Can you tell us the make, year, model, engine, propeller, Perfect Pass type, and software version on the boat you skied behind. All these things make a big difference to what you are experiencing. I found out last summer when I went to a tournament I could feel a big difference between the 2015 MasterCraft and 2015 Nautique both were ZO boats. The MasterCraft felt a little more forgiving after I got use to it. I practice behind a 1997 Nautique GT-40 with PP Stargazer w/Z-Box and a 2011 Nautique 200. The two boats feel much closer than the example above with 2015 Nautique 200 and the new 2015 Mastercraft both running ZO. I think some of the big factors with PP Stargazer w/Z-Box is engine, transmission and propeller configuration, you also have to factor in drive by wire are throttle cable. In my case with my 1997 Nautique GT-40 throttle cable driven and ACME 422, you have a boat with a very high power to weight ratio that quickly responds to throttle input. The only problem I ever had, which was easily corrected, was the servo forcing the engine to respond to fast making the pull feel more difficult and unforgiving. I now have the system dialed in so that there is no perceptible difference, that I sense, between the 2011 Nautique 200 with ZO and the 1997 Nautique with PP Stargazer w/Z-box. I base this on the fact my tournament scores behind ZO boats are identical to my practice scores behind my PP Stargazer w/Z=Box.
